Front Row @ Calvin Klein Fall 2018

There was to be no shortage of stars on the front row at the Calvin Klein Fall 2018 show, held on Tuesday (February 13), where the looks were just as diverse as the ladies themselves.

Nicole Kidman: I will always struggle with how satiny fabrics photograph, but seeing this Calvin Klein Spring 2018 look translated off the runway on Nicole, and I think she did it justice—even in spite of its cowgirl shirt-meets-retro diner uniform mood.

Lupita Nyong’o: Not only was the periwinkle hue of the blouse a radiant offering, the drama of the pouf sleeves added a layer of girly romance–to which the black skirt merely acted as the canvas to celebrate it.

Margot Robbie: I love how the ‘I, Tonya’ actress took this Calvin Klein Fall 2017 jacket and stripped away the rest of the elements to make a dress. It had an insouciant chicness about it; a vibe that was only furthered by her mismatched sandals, giant hoop earrings, and slicked-back bun.

‘Black Panther’ London Premiere Menswear Roundup

In addition to Florence Kasumba, Letitia Wright, Leona Lewis, Danai Gurira, and Lupita Nyong’o, a trio of handsome men were also in attendance at the ‘Black Panther’ London premiere on Thursday (February 8).

Chadwick Boseman: My fashion crush only grows stronger. The actor cut an impossibly cool profile in this Givenchy Spring 2018 monochromatic ensemble, the textured layers of which showed such a command of style. I like the slightly wild side of the long, brush-stroked jacket, which cemented the power status of the look.

Michael B. Jordan: Also in a long jacket, Michael’s double-breasted CALVIN KLEIN 205W39NYC version was a bit more conservative on form, but had a unique sense of storied refinement as a result. Christian Louboutin ‘Samson’ boots rounded out the look.

Daniel Kaluuya: Not completely going for the same monochromatic theme as Chadwick and Michael, Daniel punched up his classic Gucci suit with a white dress shirt and embroidered tie with glossy Tod’s shoes to finish.

Saoirse Ronan In Calvin Klein – 2018 DGA Awards

Saoirse Ronan was in attendance at the 2018 Directors Guild of America Awards on Saturday (February 3) in Beverly Hills, California.

As the ‘Lady Bird’ actress has been wearing more streamlined silhouettes, this full-skirted Calvin Klein Collection Spring 2018 retro-influenced dress came as a cinematic surprise.

Designer Raf Simons envisioned a ’50s frock redone in a modernist new direction with its sporty, nylon construction.

I love how Saoirse styled the piece, nodding to its inherent femininity with her Christian Louboutin embellished sandals and Nikos Koulis lariat necklace whilst introducing a classic red lip and blonde waves.

‘Black Panther’ World Premiere Menswear Roundup

There were plenty of men in the mix at the star-studded world premiere of Marvel’s ‘Black Panther’ on Monday (January 29) in Hollywood, California.

Chadwick Boseman: He plays the title character in the film, and his Emporio Armani Spring 2018 look was indeed royal. I love the relaxed-regal approach of the double-breasted metallic floral jacket styled with Christian Louboutin ‘Cyprien’ boots’ and David Yurman accessories.

Donald Glover: Go bold or go home. Leave it to Donald to positively command an orange power suit. This stylized Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2018 design was loud and proud in all the right ways—from the panther-esque printed shirt, to the monogrammed, embroidered badge with his initials on the jacket, and right down to the slipper shoes.

Daniel Kaluuya: I like that Daniel wore a traditional Ugandan kanzu to the red carpet, styling the formalwear with a burgundy Burberry Soho blazer, Christian Louboutin loafers, and David Yurman accessories.

2018 SAG Awards Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Many of the fellows at the 2018 SAG Awards weren’t content to just wear the standard black tux, making for quite the scene-stealing list of looks on Sunday (January 21) in LA.

Noah Schnapp: The young ‘Stranger Things’ star continued to win my affection with a lesson in all that is dapper in his custom-made velvet tuxedo by Stella McCartney paired with Jésù-SégunLondon slipper-style shoes, a Brackish bowtie, and Mrs Bow Tie pocket square. What a charmer.

Sterling K. Brown:
The ‘This Is Us’ star won the best actor award, and his look was equally stellar in this Giorgio Armani tuxedo styled with a Chopard timepiece and cufflinks. This was a lesson in the appeal of classic style with a modern twist thanks to the shades and the slim-line, slightly cropped proportions.

Dacre Montgomery:
I liked this Giorgio Armani ensemble for its unorthodox twist on the traditional tux in the chocolate-brown hue and exaggerated shawl label. Wearing his dress shirt unbuttoned at the top added a rebellious flavour that actually echoed his ‘Stranger Things’ character quite well. Montblanc cufflinks completed the look.

Sarah Paulson In Calvin Klein by Appointment – 2018 Golden Globe Awards

Sarah Paulson attended the 2018 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday (January 7) in Beverly Hills, California.

With a newly cropped bob, the actress offered a modern approach to sophisticated femininity in her Calvin Klein by Appointment gown.

I like how the ribbon-topped, sequin bodice was balanced by the satiny sweep of her ball skirt, each component adding dimension to the all-black statement.

Millie Bobby Brown In Calvin Klein by Appointment – 2018 Golden Globe Awards

I was excited to see what Millie Bobby Brown would bring to the red carpet at the 2018 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday (January 7) in Beverly Hills, California.

And, I was not left disappointed with the ‘Stranger Things’ actress’s Calvin Klein by Appointment dress that featured a ruffle motif that cascaded into a backless silhouette.

Working the look from head to toe, she styled the frock with a sleek, braided topknot, edgy Repossi jewels, and asymmetrical, ankle-strap sandals.

I know some may continue to say that the young starlet is dressing above her age.

But, I love seeing her precocious embrace of the art of fashion, especially when it looks this chic and forward.
