Red Carpet Fashion Awards

The BCBG Max Azria Spring 2010 was all about prints, bod-con and asymmetrical dresses.

We were presented with vivid colours, geometric colour blocking, draping, black chiffon overlays and embellishments.

There were a lot of pieces wrapped or draped with chiffon which added a sexy edge to the collection as this fabric covered most of the peek-a-boo cut-outs.

I’ll imagine the bod-con dresses will be very popular with young Hollywood, but there was something for everyone from the daytime dresses to the sexy mini dress to the evening gowns.

The collection was as expected was youthful, sexy and fabulous.

You will be surprised to know that you can ALREADY shop this collection.

BCBG have capitalised on the fact that when we see it on the runway, we want it now. Not 6 months down the line.

I didn’t spot Amanda Bynes at the show, and I was deeply disappointed as I would’ve seriously asked her ‘what gives’ with the ‘Never Changing Hair and LBDs’.

Yes I would have seriously asked her, in a really polite way of course. Especially when she would have had a wealth of free dresses to pick from for this show, yet she still opted for ANOTHER LBD. *bangs head against Starbucks table*

I hope she’s at the Herve Leger show because I HAVE to speak to her. It’s my fashion week mission.

It’s rare that I find any woman taller than me, but Keri Hilson was.

Not only that but she is BEAU-TI-FUL. I never noticed until today.

Pictures do not do this girl justice because I was in awe.

The singer was wearing a BCBG ensemble paired with camel heels and an outstanding statement necklace.

I think I have a new girl crush.

I do like this chartreuse BCBG Max Azria Fall 2009 dress, but I preferred it on the runway to Lynn Collins.

If you have been following me on Twitter, you would’ve seen my post on Anna Wintour who I saw as she made her way into the BCBG show whilst I queued.

The editor-in-chief of Vogue was of course wearing Prada.

Garcelle Beauvais arrived at US Weekly Hot Hollywood Style Issue Event back in April wearing a head-turning BCBG Max Azria asymmetrical dress with a blouson bodice and a front panel that created a fluid drape.

What really makes this look special is the stunning statement piece that adorns her neck.

Arielle Kebbel kept her dress simple at the “Maxim’s 10th Annual Hot 100 Celebration” in Santa Monica, by just wearing a black pumps and a black clutch.

At the Cannes Film Festival Elsa Pataky attended the “Akvinta Presents A Night of Hollywood Domino Party” wearing the same dress with a less impressive necklace plus a black clutch and bronze peep-toes.

Garcelle wins this by a landslide all thanks to that stunning necklace.

It can take so long to wait and queue to get into a fashion show, then it feels like it’s all over in a blink of an eye.

My first show of this New York Fashion Week, was the BCBG Max Azria Fall 2009 show.

Max Azria is no doubt predicting a mild winter, because he didn’t present any pants, and only a few pieces of outerwear.

Instead of pants we were presented with both gold and silver metallic tights, which makes a nice change from black, of course.

The collection started off with lots netural colours, then moved to moody blues, moss green, black and deep purples.

Although there were lots of dresses, but they came in many variates. Draped, layered, asymmetrical, diped in dye, gathered, and folded.

My favourite was the teal, green and chartreuse dress in the middle. It grabbed my attention because it was such an interesting mix of colours.

Here are a few of the more decent pictures I managed to take with my camera.

Of all the front row celebrities, the only one I noticed was Solange Knowles. This is because girlfriend moved around too much.

She wore a white dress under a black cropped jacket. Although I liked her accessories of a baby blue Chanel purse and violet heels. They not only did not go with each other, but they also did not go with her ensemble.

I also kinda noticed Amanda Bynes, but from the back with all that hair, she I thought she was Lauren Conrad.

The recently single actress looked pretty in a pink strapless mini.

Kellie Pickler was the surprised guest for me at this show, as unlike the other two, I do not see her as a BCBG type of girl.

Her knit dress, was almost as white as her foundation.

Other celeb spotting of the day was Peaches Geldof at Bryant Park, holding hands with a guys who was not her now soon-to-be ex husband. Noemie Lenoir walking her two dogs in Greenwich, and Kimora Lee Simmons in her black out truck with her window down, so everyone could see her.
