Spring 2014 New York Fashion Week FROW - Day 1

Here is a quick roundup of the notable attendees who took their front-row seats during Day 1 of Spring 2014 New York Fashion Week.

Zosia Mamet @ Honor: Still not able to crack a smile, the ‘Girls’ actress who has worn many Honor pieces on the red carpet opted for this pretty pink jacquard racer-front mini dress styled with red-and-white Tabitha Simmons for Honor pointy flats. Not one to usually wear much makeup, I love the pink lip colour here, but her overall styling – not surprisingly – is off.

Patrina Miller @ Tadashi Shoji: The Broadway star was probably picking out her next Tony Awards gown, taking her seat wearing a lovely red embroidered lace cocktail dress from Tadashi Shoji’s Spring 2013 collection.

Olivia Palermo @ BCBG Max Azria: The socialite and FROW regular doesn’t always play the ‘wear pieces from the designer show I’m attending’ game but she did so on this occasion, wearing a BCBG white-and-nude draped long-sleeved Resort 2014 dress with her favourite summer accessories, including the Aquazzura ‘Sexy Thing’ booties, Ray-bans and her crochet Gerard Darel bag, and eclectic jewels including the Lulu Frost necklace I had on my Must-Have Monday post a few weeks back.

Elle Women In Music

There were many more PYTs on the red carpet at the Edison Ballroom in New York City yesterday evening for Elle’s Women in Music Celebration.

Kelly Rowland: Keeping her look uber casual, the singer wore a white tee paired with black leather pants. Silver Saint Laurent ‘Paloma’ sandals – which we’ve seen in gold on Jada Pinkett Smith – and a stack of bracelets which complemented her necklace and ring completed her look. I’m still longing for the day she returns to her cropped ‘do.

DJ Kiss: The superstar DJ opted to break up the runway, pairing her Peter Pilotto Spring 2013 ‘Lauena’ printed skirt with a black silk sleeveless top. I love the bright-orange lip and the swirling cuff, but the ankle-strap heels weigh down the look.

June Ambrose: The chic stylist wore a BCBG Max Azria ‘Sur’ printed shawl-lapel blazer with matching BCBG Max Azria ‘Clay’ printed pants and a solid black tank top. While I’m not fond of the stark white pumps on this occasion, I do like that she, as always, thought outside of the black-pump box.

Kaley Cuoco In BCBG Max Azria - PaleyFest 2013 Honouring 'The Big Bang Theory'

It was a busy day for Kaley Cuoco, who made her second appearance on the red carpet on Wednesday to attend The Paley Center For Media’s PaleyFest 2013, honouring ‘The Big Bang Theory’ at the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills, California.

On this occasion she opted for a monochromatic look, wearing a BCBG Max Azria Spring 2013 dress.

The white silk dress with black trims, a floral-printed sheer yoke and two front-patch pockets is the perfect spring look, but it’s a tad shapeless for my personal tastes, however, I’m thankful she didn’t wear that harness.

Keeping the black-and-white theme going, the actress added a Prada clutch and bow-front Christian Louboutin kitten heels to her look.

Do you love how fresh this look is, I prefer her previous colourful, youthful look.

Louise Roe In BCBG Max Azria - BVLGARI Celebration of Elizabeth Taylor’s collection of BVLGARI Jewelry

It was another fashionable evening for Louise Roe, who attended BVLGARI’s celebration of Elizabeth Taylor’s collection of BVLGARI jewelry at BVLGARI Beverly Hills boutique in Los Angeles, California on Wednesday.

The British TV host wore a BCBG Max Azria Spring 2013 dress for the occasion.

Her chic, modern, painterly-print dress with white colour-block stripes was styled with a white leather harness.

The harness isn’t that noticeable from the front, but the buckles at the back were the giveaway.

Do this put you off the look? Was she trying too hard or was she inspired by the runway styling?

Styling her hair into a centre-parted ponytail, she accessorized with blush-coloured toe-cap pumps from her Stylist Pick collection and a bi-coloured clutch.

Kristen Stewart attended Vanity Fair’s screening of ‘On The Road’, held at the Skywalker Ranch in San Francisco, California on Friday.

She pumped up the glam factor in a sleek BCBG jacket, skinny H&M leather pants and oxblood-hued (befitting Kristen’s vampire fame) Christian Louboutin pumps.

In recent years, Kristen has built a reputation of taking a devil-may-care attitude to dressing for the red carpet (remember those Converse sneakers?).

But this refined ensemble proves that she is consciously stepping into the limelight in a big way.

Even though the look is on the casual side, Kristen ties her red pumps in with a bold red lip, and the subtle shine of the pants add a dash of sexy playfulness.

Plus – we love that Kristen is opting for brands like H&M that her core fan-base can totally relate to.
