Penelope Cruz In Balmain – The Ellen DeGeneres Show

Penélope Cruz paid a visit to ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ on Tuesday (January 16) to discuss her role in ‘The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story.’

If you were expecting Versace, you will be surprised to know that the Spanish actress wore a Balmain Pre-Fall 2018 look.

At the LA premiere, she donned Stella McCartney so it will be interesting to see if and when she wears the Italian label.

This embellished jacket might be a lot of look for a daytime show, but she carried it off with the simple black top and jeans.

The bow might not have been necessary given the heavy embellishment, but it plays into the designer’s aesthetic. Plus, it adds a quirky, girlish finish we don’t often get from the French fashion house.

The tall boots added a luxurious touch without competing with the statement topper.

Karolina Kurkova In Balmain & Giorgio Armani – IWC Schaffhausen (SIHH) Event

Karolina Kurkova was another lovely lady at IWC Schaffhausen’s Maison launch of its Jubilee Collection at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) on Tuesday (January 16) in Geneva, Switzerland. She joined Adriana Lima and Cate Blanchett.

WC Jubilee Collection Launch: The supermodel looked sophisticated in a Balmain Spring 2018 ensemble. She stayed true to the runway version, wearing the check overall jumpsuit with coordinating shirt. For the designer, it has been conservatively embellished which makes the chain straps and gold accessories pop.

IWC Red Carpet Event: This Giorgio Armani outfit is certainly a sensual take on tuxedo dressing. It still retains a luxurious sophistication from the velvet and slim silhouette. The draped chain detailing has such fluidity and a surprising lightness.

23rd Jose Maria Forque Awards

The 23rd edition of the Jose Maria Forque Awards were held on Saturday (January 13) in Zaragoza, Spain, where the dress code was quite varied among its attendees.

Goya Toledo: Wearing her favoured designer, Elie Saab, Goya relied on the intricate embroidery of the bodice to add a sense of glamour to the gown that was quite neutral in colour. Embellished accessories attempted to add a sense of sparkle to the look, but she could have done without the ribbon choker. We expect her to wear Elie Saab at the Goya Awards on February 3, so I am looking forward to what she brings to the red carpet there.

Juana Acosta: Even though we’ve seen Tilda Swinton rock this Chanel Fall 2017 jumpsuit, I didn’t mind its second showing here. Opting for a girly-chic approach, she styled the classic-cool piece with a ribbon ponytail whilst celebrating its cropped proportions that showed off her Jimmy Choo sandals.

Dafne Fernandez: I wanted to like this Fernando Claro suit, but it was missing some of the polished structure that makes these menswear-inspired looks so sleek and smart. The taupe colour was also a bit bland, especially with her shoe choice. Not even the brassy Jimmy Choo clutch could enliven it.

Marion Cotillard In Balmain – ‘César – Revelations 2018’ Party

The 43rd César Awards ceremony, which is scheduled to take place on 2 March 2018, will honour the best French films of 2017.

Marion Cotillard was on hand to celebrate the ceremony at a pre-party held at Le Petit Palais on Monday (January 15) in Paris, France.

Once again we saw the real Marion, post-Dior, rocking a rebellious look courtesy of Balmain’s Pre-Fall 2018 collection.

I have a feeling the hologram Ziggy Stardust trousers will be a hard sell for some, but I’m enjoying Marion’s creative freedom. She nailed this look for me, especially with her sleek styling.

Atelier Swarovski jewels completed her look.

2018 Critics’ Choice Awards Red Carpet Roundup

Following the 2018 Golden Globes black dress code, the 2018 Critics’ Choice Awards on Thursday (January 11) showcased a range of colours, styles and designers.

Reese Witherspoon: The actress’s most memorable looks often have bold colours, so I was surprised she opted for a black Prada dress. That being said, I thought the short length really worked for her, with the embellishment adding some vicariousness. The Roger Vivier shoes enhanced the playful mood.

Emma Roberts: Her choppy blonde fringe was certainly a talking point, but the elegant simplicity of her Giorgio Armani gown didn’t go unnoticed. The strapless column fit perfectly. She styled it in a very modern way with the gold-toned accessories and by leaving the neckline bare.

Emilia Clarke: Like Reese, the ‘Game of Thrones’ star opted for a shorter black dress. She wore a Dolce & Gabbana frock with Gianvito Rossi sandals. I would have loved to see the look completed with a red lip as it would have added some warmth while playing up the brand’s Italian film star aesthetic.

Olivia Munn Hosts The 2018 Critics’ Choice Awards

Olivia Munn hosted the 2018 Critics’ Choice Awards on Thursday (January 11), and wore a myriad of delightful looks for the occasion.

Firstly, she hit the carpet in a Prada gown. The minimalist halter style was enlivened by the “dripping” embellishment on the bodice. It could have become a tangled mess, especially as she wore her hair down, but everything came together beautifully. With such an ornate neckline, she accessorized sparingly with a few rings.

Next, the hostess went for head-to-toe embellishment in a Balmain Pre-Fall 2018 mini. The look had all the hallmarks of the brand including a sexy silhouette and a dramatic opulence. Despite the remarkable amount of detailing on the dress, there is still a lightness to the look courtesy of her red lipstick and the high zigzag hemline.
