Who Wore Balmain S13 Better Hyun Bin or Yong Jun-hyung

Hyun Bin wore a Balmain collarless brown leather jacket from the Spring 2013 collection while at Incheon International Airport in South Korea earlier this month.

The South Korean actor opted to style his rock n’ roll jacket with a deep-neck black shirt, a pair of distressed blue jeans and black boots.

Yong Jun-hyung arrived at the ‘G.I. Joe: Retaliation’ world premiere, along with Ha Yeon-Soo, wearing the same jacket a few days later.

The ‘Beast’ singer/songwriter wore the jacket with a black-and-red colour-blocked shirt, black leather pants and a pair of black high-top sneakers.

I can’t say I’m a huge fan of either look; I would have preferred a mixture of the two.

I like everything about Jun-hyung’s outfit except the leather pants. Had he worn jeans like Hyun Bin, I think it would have made for a great look.

Hyun Bin wins for me.

Ashanti in Balmain & Givenchy MTV Studios

Ashanti was spotted outside MTV Studios in New York City this week prior to her interview on VH1’s Big Morning Buzz to promote Lifetime’s hit drama ‘Army Wives’.

As we’ve seen earlier in the week, black and white is on trend.

Sadly, Ashanti took things a little too far.

Her high-end labelled look featured a Balmain long-sleeved baseball top, which she paired with Balmain jersey harem pants and Givenchy check-embossed lace-up booties.

While individually – excluding the MC Hammer pants – these pieces would work with solid separates, together….well just look at it. It’s an assault on the eyes.

Check, floral, and stripe prints? There is just too much going on. Even Solange Knowles would say “hell, no” to this heavily printed look.

It took a lot of money to look this bad.

Jourdan Dunn In Balmain - 2013 Brit Awards

Despite her peers jetting off to Milan for round three of Fashion Month yesterday, Jourdan Dunn opted to stay home and celebrate British music at the 2013 Brit Awards, held at the O2 Arena this evening.

Showing off those lean legs, the model, who walked for Burberry Prorsum and many others this week, donned a Balmain Spring 2013 dress.

We haven’t seen much of this collection on the red carpet; maybe that’s because you have to have a supermodel figure to pull off many of the tricky-to-wear pieces.

Sporting a smouldering glare, Jourdan styled her look with black strappy sandals, adding a bronze lip.

Blake Lively made her second appearance on the red carpet as Mrs Reynolds last night at Madison Square Garden in New York City for the 12-12-12 Concert Benefiting The Robin Hood Relief Fund To Aid The Victims Of Hurricane Sandy.

Proving being married hasn’t changed her style, like it has done in the past with some actresses, the ‘Gossip Girl’ actress wore an Isabel Marant Spring 2013 mini dress.

Her studded stretch-leather dress features a high round neck, short sleeves, darting at the bust and an A-line silhouette.

It’s rare that Blake has ever stepped on a red carpet without wearing Louboutins and this occasion was no different. Her nude caged ankle boots wouldn’t have been my first choice, but they do surprisingly work well with the look.

My only disappointment is the Carrie Underwood hair. It feels a bit too twee for such a sexy, edgy dress, which I can picture on Kate Moss.

Style-savvy songstress Rihanna performed her new single, ‘Diamonds’ on the popular German TV show, ‘Wetten, dass…?’ on Saturday evening.

RiRi brought a sense of subtle sex appeal to a modern Balmain Spring 2013 ensemble which featured a tiny white cropped halter and baggy leather pants, to which she added a chunky gold Chanel belt, which was a fabulous mixture of Euro-trash opulence and haute-couture sophistication.

The midriff-baring star’s finishing touches were Manolo Blahnik killer heels.

We love that Rihanna is always true to her unique sense of style – both on-stage and off.

She is one of the few singers able to totally transform a look just by the way she wears it while performing to a captive audience.

Her short hairstyle looks especially chic paired with the softness of the outfit’s top.

To kick off the holiday season, Cheryl Cole turned heads as she took to the red carpet at the Capital FM Jingle Bell Ball in London on Saturday evening.

Dressed in a Balmain Pre-Fall 2012 look, Cheryl left little to the imagination in a satin-trimmed jersey jumpsuit bedecked with twinkling gold buttons.

The menswear-inspired look took on an air of feminine sophistication when paired with chic oxblood-and-black heels and with Cheryl’s slicked-back locks and bold burgundy lipstick. The dark tones – offset by the gold details – gave off a distinctly wintery vibe.

Skin-tight, one-piece ensembles are often hard to pull off – even for the trimmest stars. But given that Cheryl not only wore the look on the red carpet, but also gave an inspiring musical performance in the daring ensemble, we give her a stylish tip of the hat for rocking a look that is both theatrical and sexy.
