Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

The 2015 MTV Movie Awards in Los Angeles, California and the 2015 Olivier Awards in London, England, both hosted Sunday night (April 12), brought out an eclectic mash-up of style statements from the leading guys. Here, a roundup of their looks.

Michael B. Jordan
: One of the more memorable menswear ensembles at the MTV Movie Awards, the actor was mad for plaid. Some might call the actor’s Vivienne Westwood MAN Fall 2015 suit crazy, but I call it downright cool. He topped off the look with Givenchy shoes and a Montblanc watch.

Chiwetel Ejiofor: Looking regal and refined in a dunhill tuxedo, the actor struck a traditionally classic style note at the Olivier Awards.

Zac Efron: The MTV Movie Awards’ Best Shirtless Scene winner covered up in a sporty, quilted Lanvin jacket, which no doubt had many wishing that he’d skipped the white T-shirt underneath.

Amal Clooney In Gucci – Out In New York City

Amal Clooney In Gucci - Out In New York City

Amal Clooney was spotted leaving Morandi restaurant in New York City, New York on Tuesday (April 7) after teaching a series of lectures at Columbia University.

The Human Rights lawyer was looking as chic as ever, wearing a Gucci Resort 2015 look.

I love how this look reigns supreme with its minimalistic stark exterior, but is then juxtaposed with the python print collar seen throughout this collection.

This look is just oozing with contemporary sartorial finesse and fully-fledged springtime appeal, which she tops off with a sleek and timeless Balenciaga Le Dix Cartable M leather tote.

Katy Perry In Balenciaga – ‘Katy Perry: The Prismatic World Tour’ Screening

Katy Perry In Balenciaga - 'Katy Perry The Prismatic World Tour' Screening

Katy Perry attended the screening of ‘Katy Perry: The Prismatic World Tour’ at The Theatre at Ace Hotel Downtown LA on Thursday (March 26) in Los Angeles, California.

We’ve seen just about every side of Katy Perry, yet I was still surprised to see this new direction – classic with an edge.

Poised to perfection, her Balenciaga Pre-Fall 2015 tuxedo dress balances modernity with classic tailoring for a super chic look.

The edge is imbued via the sexy lace up over-the-knee Giambattista Valli Fall 2015 boots and the dark berry lip, plus a selection of rings to round out the red carpet offering.

I don’t know about you, but just like her Kitty Kat fans, I’m lapping this up.

Best Dressed Of The Week – Lily James In Balenciaga & Helena Bonham Carter In Vivienne Westwood Couture

BDOTW 23 March

Lily James can do no wrong as you voted her best dressed again this week, this time for looking mesmerizing in Balenciaga, taking a detour from fairytale princess to modern red carpet starlet.

While I loved Lily too, I was blown away by Helena Bonham Carter. As many of you had noted, this was perhaps her best ever look. Usually her Vivienne Westwood looks are stuck on repeat, but this Couture look with those stunning earrings had me in awe.

When it comes to the fellas, you couldn’t separate Richard Madden in Thom Sweeney and Miles Teller in Ralph Lauren Purple Label, who both served up three-piece suits with very different styles and fabrications, but they both looked very dapper.

I went for Miles – who would’ve thought a denim-look suit could look so good for a formal occasion?

Lily James In Balenciaga – ‘Cinderella’ London Premiere

Lily James In Balenciaga - ‘Cinderella’ London Premiere

Lily James attended the premiere of ‘Cinderella’ held at the Odeon Leicester Square this evening (March 19) in London, England.

The ‘Downton Abbey’ star continues to blow me away, and like Elizabeth Banks, Lily consistently gives me goosebumps with each red carpet look.

This time she went the modern route wearing a custom Balenciaga shimmering silver gown inspired by the Pre-Fall 2015 collection.

If you were starting to get bored with the prim princessy gowns, this architectural piece, which perfectly sculpts and contours, is imbued with plenty of high-fashion allure elevating her red carpet status to a whole new stratosphere.

We still have a very long way to go with it only being mid-March and all, but I am just about ready to crown her Promo Tour Star of 2015.
