Every gaze must have been directed Zoe Saldana’s way, as she posed on the red carpet at the 2014 Golden Globe Awards, held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California on Sunday (January 12).
The actress, who is never one to shy away from the edgier side of fashion, debuted a ballet-pink and black frock from Prabal Gurung’s Spring 2014 collection.
The elegantly slim-line, pencil-skirt silhouette was given a provocative, futuristic dash of flair, given all that bold bric-a-brac that laced nearly every inch of the dress.
Punched up with silver flashing at the molded bodice and glittery flowery-like embellishment, it also featured an asymmetrical, sheer lace panel that shot through the bottom half and also showed up again at the slit of the back.
It was a sexy-sassy-quirky moment if there ever was one.
Matching blushing-nude heels and a pink Bottega Veneta clutch corresponded with the dress, while dainty Lorraine Schwarz diamond earrings, a slicked-back bun and red lip (no space-age lavender lipstick here) put a classic tinge on this complicated number.
Zoe has the distinct advantage of looking every bit as good as the runway model in this hyper-designed look. The complexity is what made this dress really tick—or for some, it may be its ultimate downfall. But the more I looked at it, the more I liked it, much to my own surprise.
You may remember that Fashion Critic had this dress picked out for Zoe Saldana on her wish list.
