2017 BET Awards Red Carpet Roundup

For better or worse, there were many more attention-stealing looks at the 2017 BET Awards in LA on Sunday night (June 25)—many of which garnered stares for all the wrong reasons.

Dascha Polanco: White-hot was the M.O. for the ‘Orange Is The New Black’ star in her Bishme R. Cromartie pantsuit. The plunge made it typically sexy, but that architectural ruffle was like fashion’s version of whipped cream on top.

Sasha Lane: The young starlet has not shied away from directional looks—or tribal makeup—and this Proenza Schouler Fall 2017 ensemble styled with a Sergio Rossi ‘SR1’ sandal and silver python Proenza Schouler ‘Curl’ clutch strongly continued in that experimental vein. Those who don’t love this look will likely only see trash bag-inspired pants. Regardless, I wish the sheer top had fit her better.

Tamar Braxton: To go with her platinum ’do, Tamar wore rhinestones and see-through lace in this Walter Mendez gown that won’t pass the test for those with sheer fatigue syndrome. Was anyone else getting a strong Cher vibe?

Anna Diop In ASOS & Elisabetta Franchi – ’24: LEGACY’ Premiere Event

Anna Diop attended the ’24: LEGACY’ premiere event on Monday (January 30) in New York City.

The actress ushered in a new mode of elegance wearing an ASOS tabard with Elisabetta Franchi trousers and Cesare Paciotti shoes.

This is such a cool look. Everything about it seems effortless and well put together.

I’m taking notes.

Hailee Steinfeld In Versace & ASOS – 2015 iHeartRadio & Hot 99.5’s Jingle Balls

Hailee Steinfeld in Versace & ASOS - 2015 iHeartRadio Jingle Ball

Hailee Steinfeld continued so showcase her musical talents on stage at the Z100’s iHeartRadio Jingle Ball in New York on Friday (December 11) and Hot 99.5’s Jingle Ball on Monday (December 14) in Washington, D.C.

Z100’s iHeartRadio Jingle Ball 2015: Her first look from Versace’s Spring 2016 collection breaks into urban realms with its netted top while possessing a sexy, feminine quality via the thigh-high slit.

Hot 99.5’s Jingle Ball 2015: While I haven’t been the biggest supporter of her style shift since becoming a singer, I have to say I love this cropped jumpsuit from ASOS. Not only the sleek style, but the patent leather boots and cat-eye makeup which helps brings this modern look together. I hope to see more like this please.

Gabrielle Union’s ‘Being Mary Jane’ New York Promo Tour

Gabrielle Union's 'Being Mary Jane' New York Promo Tour

Gabrielle Union continued her efforts while promote season 3 of ‘Being Mary Jane’, serving up five more incredible looks.

The Today Show: I love the chic nature of her ASOS vest and tailored culottes combo to which she added a Suno striped oversized menswear-inspired coat. The vivid hued stripes gives this look such vibrant flourish.

Live With Kelly & Michael: The actress was the epitome of modern elegance wearing a Sophia Ka Fall 2015 fitted dress which she styled with rose gold Giuseppe Zanotti sandals.

Out In New York: En route to her next engagement, the actress worked yet another high-low look wearing a white ASOS mini button detailed dress which she styled with Paul Andrew wedges (the same we saw on Jessica Chastain earlier in the week), a Clare V Sandrine colour-block suede tote and Hermes bracelets. The dress is uber cute, but it’s the accessories that really sell this look to me.

Kendall Jenner’s Paris Fashion Week Style

Kendall Jenner Paris

Kendall Jenner has been taking Paris, France by storm over the last week or so, spotted out on no fewer than nine occasions during Paris Fashion Week with a wardrobe change in effect at every step of the way.

Look 1: Adding a touch of sartorial androgyny, the model took a structured approach in a Solace London ‘Kusama’ top paired with Elisabetta Franchi high-waisted trousers, Givenchy ‘Pandora’ wristlet, Dior ‘Technologic’ sunglasses, and Camilla and Marc ‘Honour’ flat loafers. I love the vibrancy of the cobalt blue.

Look 2: At a dinner at ‘Le Gabriel’ restaurant with Balmain designer Olivier Rousteing, she naturally was wearing Balmain in a lace-up jumpsuit with ruffled pant legs. I simply cannot make it past the see-through effect and visible panties, so the rest of the look falls victim to the transparency for me. The Givenchy ‘Pandora’ wristlet completed the look.

Look 3: While leaving Laperouse Restaurant, she donned a Balmain logo-print tank top with Balmain Spring 2016 high-waisted pants, which was a significantly more appropriate than her previous Balmain offering. Her favoured Givenchy ‘Pandora’ wristlet made another appearance showcasing its versatility yet again.
