Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Katy Perry arrived at the 2012 MusiCares Person of the Year Tribute to Paul McCartney which was held at the Los Angeles Convention Center in California last night.

She looked heavenly wearing an Alexis Mabille Spring 2012 Couture gown.

The pale pink satin crêpe gown with lace inserts over a pleated underskirt in Chantilly lace with embroidered lace inserts and flounced hem with teamed with a floral head-piece and a pink satin bow tied to the waist.

You may remember that when Dita von Teese wore a look from this collection she opted to downsize the head-piece, but Katy kept the look true to the runway.

With Katy’s blue hair, I’m surprised she didn’t opt for one of the other more colourful pieces in this collection.

Had it been her night, I’m sure she would’ve been more adventurous.

Whilst her hair colour is a slight turn-off in this breath-taking gown, I can’t deny how beautiful she looks.

Dita Von Teese had the honour of wearing the first Alexis Mabille Spring 2012 Couture look on the red carpet to the Sideaction Gala dinner in Paris, France yesterday evening.

The burlesque dancer chose a form-fitting red dress with a sheer yoke and lace detailing.

Dita kept the look monochromatic with head-to-toe red accessories including satin pumps, red lippie and a Christian Louboutin ‘Eden’ satin clutch which has ruffled rosettes on the top and a red leather tassle on the bottom.

Whilst she may have toned down the runway look, her large red headband is sure to give even Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge fascinator envy.

Despite being in Paris, Dita von Teese didn’t attend any shows during Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week.

She did attend Paris Fashion Week Haute Couture Fall 2011 Closing Party hosted by Chambre Syndicale de la Couture at Trianon Palace last night.

The Burlesque star wore an exquisite Alexis Mabille Fall 2010 gown.

Her sleeves gown with gold baroque print and pink floral details was made for someone as elegant and regal as Dita.

She wears this timeless gown far better than the model.

Gossip Girl fans will instantly recognise this dress as Leighton Meester wore it on the last episode of GG last season.

Ashley Greene continues to take strides to set herself apart from the other Twilight stars when she walked the red carpet at the “Eclipse” LA premiere last night.

Whilst almost everyone went for a short mini style, Ashley wore a grey Alexis Mabille Fall 2009 Couture gown.

Her look was originally presented as a one-sleeved gown, but Ashley wore hers strapless.

The strapless version comes off like a bed sheet she’s wrapped around herself before opening the door to the postman or something.

I would imagine this look was much better in person, but I’m not particularly wowed by it for a Couture look.

It doesn’t really say much.

I did however love her Buccellati earrings.

French actress Sandrine Bonnaire walked the red carpet for the Cannes Film Festival premiere of “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps” this evening.

Some of you are over the ball gowns and mermaid hems, so Sandrine gives us something totally different.

She wore an Alexis Mabille Spring 2010 Couture blue and black dress.

I love how this dress has a very fitted bodice with a loose fluid skirt.

She opted out of dying her hair blue like the model, but she did sport a blue head-wrap.

Black strappy sandals complete this refreshing look.

I’m currently obsessed with “The Good Wife” which airs on Mondays in the UK on Channel 4.

The star of the show is Julianna Margulies, who was seen in New York this week at a screening of “City Island” in which she stars.

This awards season we’ve seen Julianna wear a lot of custom pieces by Narciso Rodriguez, but on this occasion she wore a boat neckline Alexis Mabille Spring 2010 Couture dress with beige panels.

The Alexis Mabille Spring 2010 Couture collection was full of colour-blocking and geometric themes.

Julianna picked one of the more tamer pieces which suited her sophisticated style.

The tights on this occasion don’t bother me, but the shoes do.

Other than that I do like this look. Very event appropriated.
