Erin Wasson In Alexandre Vauthier Couture - 2013 MTV Video Music Awards #VMAs

Erin Wasson bared all (well, nearly all) when taking to the red carpet for the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards held at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on Sunday evening.

Turning to Alexandre Vauthier for her daring red carpet look, she donned a sheer black dress with a bandeau-style bikini from the designers Fall 2013 Couture collection.

It’s ironic that the most covered part of this look is her head as she styled her risqué frock with a black turban.

This look is supposed to be sexy, but I can’t find an ouch of sex appeal within this look.

To be honest, I find it quite boring. She tried way too hard to garner attention.

2013 MTV Video Music Awards - Red Carpet

Rita Ora really brought the wow factor to the red carpet at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards held at the Barclay Center in New York on Sunday evening.

This Alexandre Vauthier Fall 2013 baby-blue gown was always going to make its way down a red carpet at a music event; you may remember that I had it on my Fall 2013 Couture wish list for Jennifer Lopez, but it was Rita who brought at least half of my wish to life.

Featuring a crystal embroidered long-sleeve top with a daring plunge and a dramatic feathered train with a thigh-high slit that left very little to the imagination, Rita more than does justice to this look.

The surprising thing here is that she didn’t opt for her signature red lip for which I am very grateful.

Working an even shorter bob, she completed her look with black-and-gold ankle strap Louboutin sandals.

Is there too much on display? Or does she totally nail the look for this occasion?

Couture Wish List 1

With Fall 2013 Couture week behind us and the first piece already taken to the red carpet, here is a roundup of the looks I would love to see on the red carpet and who I would like to see wearing them.

Alexandre Vauthier Couture: This bedazzled and feathered confection has Grammys, Billboard Awards or MTV Music Awards written all over it, so this look gave me a bit of a conundrum. I would love to see it on Katy Perry because the blue would be divine against her pale skin and dark hair; however, with such a deep plunge and being so well endowed, it could be a wardrobe malfunction waiting to happen, so I switched my final choice to Jennifer Lopez, who would work that slit like no other.

Alexis Mabille Couture: While the burlesque queen Dita von Teese loves black, she does step out of her comfort zone from time to time. This puff-sleeved blouse and floral skirt combo would be a refreshing change. It would be too much to ask for the runway styling, as we all know she loves those retro waves and red lips, but I’m pretty confident she could pull this look off.

Rita Ora In Alexandre Vauthier - ‘Chime For Change The Sound Of Change Live’ Media Room

After her performance at the ‘Chime For Change: The Sound Of Change Live’ Concert at Twickenham stadium on Saturday, where she wore a gold sequin one-of-a-kind Gucci suit, Rita Ora was spotted in the media room working a second look.

On this occasion she wore a white Alexandre Vauthier one-sleeve top with matching high-waist pants.

The British singer has worn several look by the French designer; each have served her well – until now.

I don’t know if it’s the look itself or the poor styling but nothing – sans her red pumps – are working for me here.

Rita is yet to wow me. When it comes to her style; I still don’t get her as I always feel like she is trying way too hard.

Emmanuelle Seigner In Alexandre Vauthier - 'La Venus a La Fourrure' Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Emmanuelle Seigner took to the red carpet this evening for the premiere of ‘La Venus a La Fourrure’ during Cannes Film Festival.

This is one red gown that didn’t fade into the red carpet.

The actress wore a custom Alexandre Vauthier low-cut silk jersey gown which she styled with red Christian Louboutin sandals.

Her daring gown instantly made me think of Blake Lively (before coming Mrs. Reynolds) because like Emmanuelle, Blake didn’t follow the legs or boobs rule.

I love the daring nature of the gown and Emmanuelle’s ‘if you’ve got it, flaunt it’ attitude. However, there are so many pictures of her looking down at her boobs to ensure she did not suffer a wardrobe malfunction, one has to wonder how comfortable she was in the dress.

Love or loathe?

Paz Vega In Alexandre Vauthier Couture - Bulgari Hosts ‘Cleopatra’ Cocktail

Paz Vega joined Jessica Chastain on the red carpet at the Hotel Marriott in Cannes, France yesterday evening for the Bulgari Hosts ‘Cleopatra’ cocktail party.

The Spanish actress hasn’t been seen on the red carpet since her Stéphane Rolland disaster, so I hope she has a chance to redeem herself and give us a BDOTY-worthy look before this festival ends on Sunday.

Paz opted for a simple black-and-white Alexandre Vauthier Spring 2013 Couture look consisting of a white silk blouse and high-waisted silk pants, which is infinitely sexier than her last outing.

Black satin pumps and an Alexandre Vauthier clutch accessorized her look, with the stand-out piece being that breathtaking Bulgari necklace.
