Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Refreshing Change Award
Victoria’s Secret model Marisa Miller shocked me when I saw her on the red carpet at the 2010 ESPY Awards.

Why?

Because she’s not wearing the VS uniform – a Herve Leger dress – I guess she’s only obligated to wear those dresses at VS events.

Instead she wore an Alexander Wang draped dress from the Resort 2010 collection.

Her sporty-luxe black satin-jersey dress has a nude mesh cutout racer-back which she shows off to the photographers.

The only thing predictable about Marisa’s look was her Trib Two heels.

Kimberley Walsh of Girls Aloud arrived at ITV Studios in London yesterday prior to her appearance on ‘This Morning’.

She was there to talk about her new documentary ‘Blue Jean Girl’ which airs tonight on Sky 1 at 9pm.

It’s about history of jeans and her quest to find the perfect pair.

She opted out of wearing jeans for her appearance instead she wore an Alexander Wang Oxford-style shirt dress from the Resort 2010 collection.

Her look was paired with a Chloe Heloise hobo and black Miu Miu peep-toes.

As much as I like the idea, the execution is really poor.

A dress like this doesn’t suit Kimberley who would’ve looked better in jeans and a tee.

Rihanna continues her world tour.

On Friday, before her Sunday night performance in Tel Aviv the R&B singer visited sites in Jerusalem’s Old City.

Those sites included the Jewish Quarter of the Old City overlooking the Temple Mount with the golden Dome of the Rock, and the Western Wall.

She was surrounded with her very large entourage but she stood out wearing a Diane von Furstenberg Lucretia silk maxi dress, with Miu Miu gladiator flats and a large blue leopard print scarf wrapped around her head.

Rihanna’s dress is slightly modified from the runway as it has a draped trim, but it has the same rich colour palette and geometric print.

The singer also did a spot of shopping at the Egyptian market.

On Saturday, Rihanna was spotted on her way to a community center in Tel Aviv to do some volunteer paint work.

She wasn’t exactly appropriately dressed to get her hands dirty wearing an Alexander Wang striped iridescent sweater from the Spring 2010 collection which is totally see-through.

Her bra revealing sweater was paired with khaki pants and gold Christian Louboutin Dahlia ankle boots.

I do love both looks.

Cheryl Cole is still working hard promoting her album “3 Words” in Europe.

This weekend she was in the Netherlands to appear on the Dutch version of The X Factor.

At Amsterdam Airport Schiphol she was spotted carrying her current favourite Christian Dior Granville tote, whilst wearing boyfriend jeans, biker boots and an Alexander Wang striped crop top.

She opted to wear her Spring 2010 Alexander Wang top over a simple white tank as she didn’t want to do a ‘Britney’ by showing-off her midriff.

I could have really loved this look if it weren’t for those black biker boots.

Even though Alexander Wang is an edgy brand, the biker boots just look ridiculous.

Best Footwear Award
Victoria Justice gave us a huge smile and a red carpet 101 hand-on-the-hip pose on the orange carpet at the 2010 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.

I’m not a fan of ankle boots or booties paired with dresses on the red carpet, but Victoria’s Alexander Wang Freja boots have long been on my wish list, so I must not complain too much.

The black leather lace-up open toe boots have a zip fastening which runs along the front of the foot and a stacked heel with a mirror plate on the inside edge.

These are the sexy contemporary urban boots which must find their way into my closet soooon.

The 17 year old actress wore a figure hugging green Catherine Malandrino mini dress with an asymmetrical neckline and a ruched detail going down one side.

I’m definitely loving the heels more than the dress.
