Greta Gerwig In Alexander Wang – 2018 DGA Awards

‘Lady Bird’ director Greta Gerwig joined Saiorse Ronan at the 2018 Directors Guild of America Awards on Saturday (February 3) in Beverly Hills, California.

Designer Alexander Wang presented a unique hybrid breed of eveningwear with this minimalist gown from the Resort 2018 collection.

You can see the translation of the distinct #WangGang-cool, streetwear-savvy aesthetic in the molded black leather bustier of the dress.

The skirt was the white T-shirt of the look—the more casual counterpart to counterbalance the mod bodice.

It may have been an experimental combination, but I love how sleekly Greta wore it with her pristine updo and bold lip.

Taraji P. Henson In Alexander Wang – Hennessy VSOP Privilege’s Dinner

Taraji P. Henson attended the Hennessy VSOP Privilege’s dinner hosted in her honour to celebrate ‘Proud Mary’ at Zuma on Monday (January 8) in New York City.

I have to say I’m extremely baffled by this Alexander Wang Spring 2018 look, as it doesn’t suit or fit her red carpet M.O. by any description.

If I had to I would save the top half, but the bottom doesn’t work.

Kudos to her for going down the androgynous route and trying something different, but this is a hard, fast, flat no from me.

I don’t think even Tilda Swinton could sell this look.

Nicki Minaj In Alexander Wang – 2017 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards

Nicki Minaj attended the 2017 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards on Monday (November 6) in the Brooklyn, New York as the guest of Alexander Wang.

As you would expect, her custom piece has an edge to it, but my feeling is that this look will split you into several camps.

Camp 1. Hideous.

Camp 2. Not something you favour, but believe this suits Nicki’s style and persona.

Camp 3. Would’ve been best suited for a performance piece not a Vogue event.

Camp 4. What are those hot pants all about?

Cara Delevingne In Mugler, Dion Lee & Alexander Wang – ‘Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets’ Promo Tour

The press tour for ‘Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets’ continued with Cara Delevingne showcasing three more incredible looks all with a hint of menswear inspiration following her futuristic Iris van Herpen Couture premiere look.

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert: Velvet weirdly continues to one of the summers trends. I love how Cara teams her cool-blue Mugler Pre-Fall 2017 suit with harness bra to add a sensual feel to her masculine look. Balmain boots and tinted shades amp up the rock chick vibe.

Apple Store Soho Presents: This more languid approach to sees her mix things up again with Dion Lee’s Resort 2018 look. I love the sporty element of the track pants, but I’m not entirely sold on the top as the draped element feels unnecessary.

London photocall: This Alexander Wang Fall 2017 checked jacket and jumpsuit combo was by far my favourite of the three. Even with the oversize element it’s the sharpest while staying true to her sexy androgynous style. Alexander Wang heeled studded boots elevates the look further.

In Kristen Stewart’s earlier days I remember being hammered for saying that menswear looks would suit her better. They don’t seem to be doing Cara or Evan Rachel Wood any harm.

Models @ The 2017 Met Gala

The models had their moment at the 2017 Met Gala on Monday (May 1) in New York City. Here, a look at how they made the night’s blue carpet their catwalk.

Bella Hadid: We’ve heard of the naked dress, but Bella had the naked jumpsuit of the evening in this sheer mesh Alexander Wang number that left precious little to the imagination.

Gigi Hadid: Her sister may have opted for the naked look, but Gigi just went plain nude in this sweeping Tommy Hilfiger gown—her version of a princess dress—that combined architectural tailoring with romantic femininity. To add an edge, Wolford fishnets did the trick for her leg jut that was likewise accessorised by Christian Louboutin heels.
