Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Amanda Seyfried joined her co-star Anne Hathaway on the red carpet at the Ziegfeld Theatre in New York City last night for the ‘Les Miserables’ premiere.

She too opted for a dramatic look, wearing her second Alexander McQueen look in a row.

In London she was sweet and ethereal; on this occasion, sexy and commanding.

The look features a gold embroidered bodice and a flowing black skirt, which is accented with a tortoise-shell belt with a gold buckle.

Adding to the dramatic nature of the look, she opted for extreme cat-eyes and a high braided bun.

It would appear that the ladies co-ordinated their looks somewhat, because they perfectly complemented each other with the mood being dark, mysterious and sexy.

Rosamund Pike looked sensational on the red carpet for the world premiere of ‘Jack Reacher’, held at the Odeon Leicester Square in London this evening.

Even though I’m all for season appropriate red carpet dressing, I can’t begrudge the British actress wanting to lift the winter gloom by wearing a bright yellow Alexander McQueen Spring 2013 gown with Noor Fares’ earrings.

Considering I daren’t leave the house without at least three layers, one must also admire the fact that Rosamund’s gown is both sleeveless and backless. “Brrrr!”

From the look book picture, you can see that the gown was styled with the bee-accented choker and tortoise-shell belt which took to the runway in Paris, but Rosamund’s simple styling works perfectly for her.

The look book styling would look awesome on Rihanna, Erin O’Connor or Cate Blanchett, but may not have given Rosamund the effortlessly air that I’m currently getting from this look.

Do you think Rosamund got her styling of this look right?

Amanda Seyfried had a second night out in London yesterday evening, as she was escorted to the Sun Military Awards held at the Imperial War Museum on a typical wet night in the capital by her ‘Les Miserables’ co-star, Eddie Redmayne.

Eddie opted for a classic Burberry tux with a dickie bow tie; she wore an Alexander McQueen silk-chiffon gown.

With the faintest floral motif, her romantic lilac bustier gown was accented with an Alexander McQueen metal bow belt from the Fall 2012 collection.

While this gown doesn’t have the same dramatic impact as her Balenciaga look for the ‘Les Miserables’ world premiere, all round it’s a better look.

Do you agree?

Back in September, indie actress Juno Temple attended the ‘Anna Karenina’ London premiere wearing a head-to-toe Alexander McQueen look.

Dressed in a black-and-neon-pink flower-blossom 3D jacquard dress, she gave the pretty dress an edge by adding a black woven cord box clutch, nouveaux bow sandals and a Mohawk skull ring.

Juno finished off her look with her natural curls left loose and eye-accentuating makeup.

Jessica Ennis, a McQueen devotee, wore the same dress to the UK Athletics Gala Dinner back in October.

She may be the UK’s golden girl but her styling is not a patch on Juno’s, so the young actress wins this easily for me.

Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, visited her former school, St Andrews, in Pangbourne, England this afternoon, where she attended between 1986 and 1995, to meet and greet the teachers and students.

She donned a green-and-navy tartan print by her favourite British label, Alexander McQueen, paying homage to her former school uniform, which I thought was a nice touch.

After all, she wants to be considered the people’s princess.

Her tailored tartan look was styled with a black clutch and black suede knee boots.

After two so-so attempts to impress this week, this is one of her best looks in a long while.

Denise Ho also wore an Alexander McQueen Fall 2012 look on the red carpet for the 49th Annual Golden Horse Awards in Taiwan on Saturday evening.

The singer, known for her androgynous style, struck a fierce pose in her fuchsia pink gown with a train that she styled with an ivory metal bow belt.

Sporting a punky hairstyle, she wore a silver ring with a blood stone and an Alexander McQueen knuckle duster ivory clutch.

I love everything about this look from the poise, and the choice of accessories but she needed just two more inches in height to really pull this look off.
