Laura Dern In Alberta Ferretti – 2015 Oscars

Laura Dern In Alberta Ferretti - 2015 Oscars

Laura Dern graced the red carpet on Sunday (February 22) at the 2015 Oscars, hosted at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre.

Nominated for her role in ‘Wild’ Laura opted for a showstopping metallic gown by Alberta Ferretti.

Laura’s pewter-hued gown was calm in colour but was a pure texture dream complete with rivets and silk panelling from head to toe. Evoking a look of mesh armour, the gown featured curve-enhancing lines along the waist and hips that created a beautiful silhouette on the actress.

To punctuate the metallic theme of this look, Laura accessorized with a graphic black and silver clutch and Bulgari jewels including a medallion necklace, earrings, and a turquoise-coloured ring that was designed in honor of the character she played in her Oscar-nominated film.

I wish the medallion necklace had been left at home, however. The inclusion of the heavy piece of jewelry takes the gown very close to a ‘Game of Thrones’ costume and the dress had so much beautiful detailing, it didn’t need a piece of jewelry to add interest.

Macarena Garcia In Alberta Ferretti – 2015 Goya Awards

Macarena Garcia In Alberta Ferretti - 2015 Goya Awards

Macarena Garcia attended the 2015 Goya Awards held at Centro de Congresos Principe Felipe on Saturday (February 7) in Madrid, Spain.

Red carpet sightings of Alberta Ferretti gowns are becoming few and far between, so I’m delighted the actress selected this heavenly dual-colour chiffon gown with lace and floral appliqués.

Romantic and delicate with an exquisite touch of vintage elegance, as beautiful as this look is, I’m really disappointed by the red clutch.

In no way doesn’t complement her ethereal dress.

Jhene Aiko In Alberta Ferretti – 2015 Grammy Awards

Jhene Aiko swept onto the red carpet at the 2015 Grammy Awards, held on Sunday (February 8) at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

After seeing her urban-chic look at the Roc Nation Grammy Brunch, I was excited to see what singer and nominee had up her sleeve for tonight.

Tapping into another side of her style personality, she took a softer approach in a diaphanous, fairytale of a gown from the Alberta Ferretti Spring 2015 collection.

It’s a beautiful, blush-pink design, with its whispers of petal-like embellishment at the bodice, although one I wouldn’t have necessarily expected to see at the Grammys.

She accessorized the delicate dress with a Jimmy Choo clutch and heels, along with a diamond ear cuff by Lorraine Schwartz and a gold diamond ring story by Ofira.

Pixie Lott In Alberta Ferretti – 2015 National Television Awards

Pixie Lott In Alberta Ferretti - 2015 National Television Awards

Pixie Lott attended the 2015 National Television Awards held at the 02 Arena on Wednesday (January 21) in London, England.

The singer continued her love for all things Italian, wearing an Alberta Ferretti Fall 2014 gown featuring a black strapless top with textural-effect tree bark skirt, which reflected the nature inspiration of the collection.

Opting for neutral makeup and forgoing her standard cat-flick eyes, the look took a wrong turn once she opted to wear those sheer embellished opera gloves.

You may remember that Norma Ruiz wore this same skirt back in September.

Who Wore Alberta Ferretti Better…Jess Weixler or Stana Katic?

Who Wore Alberta Ferretti Better Jess Weixler or Stana Katic

Jess Weixler attended the 28th American Cinematheque Award event honouring Matthew McConaughey back in October wearing an Alberta Ferretti Resort 2015 gown.

The gown already had a huge battle on its hands for the muddy brown colour alone, but factor in the ill-fitted bodice and metallic sheen on the skirt and it’s a wonder that this dress was worn once, let alone twice.

Stana Katic, like Jess, usually has great style, but she also came undone wearing the same gown to The Music Center’s 50th Anniversary Spectacular last month.

For the sleek bun and the slightly better fit at the bodice, Jess wins for me.
