Rachel Brosnahan In ADEAM – 2018 Costume Designers Guild Awards

Rachel Brosnahan was back on the red carpet at the 2018 Costume Designers Guild Awards at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on Tuesday (February 20) in California, alongside Sarah Hyland, Kerry Washington and Sally Field.

‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ actress wore a fresh-from-the-runway ADEAM Fall 2018 dress.

Some might perceive the style to be a tad too casual, especially given some of the other dramatic looks at the event. However, it’s a more casual affair so I think she gets away with it as the dogtooth style carries a sophisticated retro elegance.

The belt helps accent her waist and formalize the ensemble, but in turn the frock loses the softness from the runway.

The CFDA, WWD & Variety Celebrate Runway To Red Carpet Initiative

To celebrate the inaugural launch of the Runway to Red Carpet initiative, the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), Variety and Women’s Wear Daily (WWD) hosted a star-studded luncheon on Tuesday (February 20) at the Chateau Marmont, which was sponsored by Karma Automotive.

A range of starlets were in attendance. However, if you had just looked at their ensembles, you’d never know they were at the same event—so diverse were their modes of dress.

Olivia Munn: I like the sunny outlook of this Veronica Beard Spring 2018 warm-weather-ready suit set, with the drawstring detailing adding an element of feminine allure. Obviously, the shorts didn’t stand up so well to the creases from sitting.

Lea Michele: Opting for a more romantically feminine offering, Lea wore a Zuhair Murad floral gown with a ruffled peplum. I can imagine this dress looked very pretty in the garden outside.

January Jones: I appreciate the directional, urban-forward mood the actress was setting with this Off-White Resort 2018 look—complete with that slick-back ponytail. However, I know the deconstructed, pinstripe skirt will have many saying it looks as if she wrapped a bolt of men’s shirting material around her waist.

Harper’s BAZAAR CDGA Celebration

Harper’s BAZAAR and the CDG celebrated the top costume designers and nominees of the 20th CDGA with an event on Saturday (February 17) in West Hollywood, California

Serayah McNeill: This highlighter-yellow Alexandre Vauthier fitted mini dress may not have been anything new, but it fit her to a T and the colour was a bright revelation—plus the drape at the front added more sultry appeal. Giuseppe Zanotti gold sandals rounded out her look.

Laura Marano: The beauty of this Tadashi Shoji Spring 2018 design was in its colouful floral embroidery, to which the sheer elements offered just an elegant hint at peek-a-boo allure. A Tadashi Shoji ‘Charlotte’ clutch completed the look.

Hong Chau: Personalized and progressive, Hong edged up her frothy baby-blue Adeam dress with an Adeam Spring 2018 metallic embossed jacket.

Stuart Weitzman’s Fall 2018 Presentation

Lovely ladies put their best foot forward at the Stuart Weitzman Fashion Week Cocktail Party on Thursday (February 8) in New York City.

Doutzen Kroes: Not shying away from making a statement, the Dutch model was clad in an Ingorokva coat and Stuart Weitzman ‘Histyle’ boots. The patent black trench plays off the scrunched effect of the red leather footwear. This is a tricky silhouette to pull off and needed someone of her stature to do it.

Solange Knowles: The singer had plenty of interest in her ensemble with the sharp lines of the Mugler Resort 2018 separates, the Stuart Weitzman ‘Shoebox’ clutch and ‘Eventually’ pumps, and mismatched earrings. I must admit that my eye is still drawn to her pale blonde afro. It had a halo quality in the way it framed her face.

Camilla Belle: Channeling soft sensuality, she wore an Adeam Spring 2018 dress with Stuart Weitzman ‘Alterego’ pumps and John Hardy jewels. It has a retro sentiment without becoming cliché thanks to the cool-toned colour palette and injection of bright pink lipstick.

Camilla Belle In ADEAM – ‘The Minefield Girl’ Audio Visual Book Launch

Camilla Belle was full of feminine flair at ‘The Minefield Girl’ audio visual book launch on Wednesday (January 31) in New York, where she joined Emmy Rossum.

The actress was wrapped up in a gray Adeam Spring 2018 dress. It could have come across as sloppy from the robe-inspired cut, but her styling kept it glamorous with just a nod to boudoir allure.

Nicholas Kirkwood ‘Lola Pearl’ pumps enlivened the frock’s steely shade with large hoop earrings and a black clutch enhancing the sophistication.

When I cast my eye over her ensemble and the runway version, I am caught up by how both looks have a louche elegance.

7th Annual Sean Penn & Friends HAITI RISING Gala

The 7th Annual Sean Penn & Friends HAITI RISING Gala was held on Saturday (January 6) in LA.

Barbara Meier: The German model contributed to the evening’s glamour with an Eva Poleschinski gown. There is something about a cape that immediately adds so much drama to a look, but it was the rich, buttery goldenrod hue in combination with her flame-hair locks that really brought the look to life. I do think the dress fell a bit long, even on her statuesque frame.

Sofia Boutella: Chicly showing that Prada doesn’t always mean over-embellished or overly quirky, the actress was striking in this sophisticated dove-grey dress with just the hint of sequin embroidery.

Allison Williams: I like the delicate natured of this Adeam gown, not only in its ballet-pink hue but also the skirt’s softly layered movement. Some of you haven’t been enthused so far with her return to darker roots. Are you warming to the new look at all?

Refinery29 29Rooms Los Angeles: Turn It Into Art Opening Night

The Refinery29 ’29Rooms Los Angeles: Turn It Into Art’ opening night party saw a host of lovely ladies in attendance on Wednesday (December 6) in California.

Gabrielle Union: The ‘Being Mary Jane’ actress wore a TOME Fall 2017 bomber jacket and corseted shirt, plus some check trousers. I’m usually a big fan of Gabrielle’s style, but I couldn’t get on board with this look. I think the shirt is really the chink in her armor here.

Margot Robbie: With those power shoulders, it’s quite clear that Margot was paying homage to the 80s in this sleek Saint Laurent Spring 2018 look which she styled with Pierre Hardy ‘Laser’ pumps.

Janelle Monae: Did Janelle’s invite say come as art? That can be the only explanation for this Kaimin leather dress and Nange Magro // Dead Lotus Couture latex headpiece. You gotta admire her for committing to the look if nothing else.
