Adam Spring 2012

Adam Lippes was inspired by the energy of his West Chelsea neighbourhood for his Spring 2012 collection.

It must be a beautiful, vibrant place because the presentation gave us feminine pieces with classic tailored shapes.

Pantsuits and trench coats were given modern twists with floral sleeves for the former and sleeveless and sheer for the latter.

I loved the drop-waist dresses with the flounced skirts. They took the runway in several forms: black and white polka dots, delicate cream embroidery and lavender and white polka dots.

Capes, satin pantsuits, neon sweatpants pants with an ivory embroidered sweatshirt, sleeveless jumpsuits and fully embellished shift dresses were served on a colour palette of mostly white, ivory and pink.

Adam also presented gorgeous polka dot shirts, pants and a cape which all had a Pyjama-like feel to them.

The stand out piece was a red Sergeant Pepper jacket paired with a simple white lace dress.

Key accessories included gorgeous Manolo Blahnik sandals in a variety of colours and Selima Optique sunglasses.

Favourites: Butterfly embellished dress and floral print strapless dress

Who I See Wearing This Collection: Angie Harmon, Evangeline Lilly, Carrie Underwood, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Freida Pinto, Elizabeth Olsen, Kate Beckinsale and Olivia Wilde

Adam Fall 2011

Adam’s Fall 2011 show focused on classic staples for Fall.

The designer presented many pieces in plaid from skirts, pants, scarves and coat were lined with plaid.

Cobalt blue, Claret, black, cream and gold made up the rest of the colour palette.

I loved the oversized sweaters. We also saw wool ponchos, anoraks, chunky knits, fur short sleeved coats, chunky knits and chiffon blouses.

Adam also presented some evening wear which included sleeveless dress with a feather skirt, a sexy sheer flapper dress, a black backless jumpsuit and black strapless dress with a thigh-high split was presented.

Each look was totally wearable from this fun loving sporty collection.

Key accessories included Manolo Blahnik heels which were paired with socks.

Favourites: Black jumpsuit and sleeveless dress with feathered skirt.

After featuring Janet Jackson and Thandie Newton at the “For Colored Girls” New York Premiere, here are the rest of the stunning looks which hit the red carpet.

Kerry Washington wore a charming Missoni print maxi dress with a complementary gold clutch.

I remember when I saw the Adam Spring 2011 presentation during New York Fashion Week, I said that the one piece which stood out was the red leather dress.

I guess it also stood out for Veronica Webb – who was front row at the presentation – because she wore the red leather dress last night with nude strappy sandals.

Ciara wore a Carven taffeta dress with super sexy Christian Louboutin leopard print ankle booties.

With her hair swept to one side to show off her green earrings, Tessa Thompson looked beautiful wearing a Versus Fall 2010 bustier dress with a velvet skirt which she paired with Rene Caovilla Swarovski crystal embellished sandals.

Anika Noni Rose added plenty of colour to the red carpet wearing an orange and gold embroidered dress with sexy gold strappy sandals.

I love the colour and style of Estelle’s new ‘do. This could be my Spring 2011 look.

The British singer wore a reptile print Alexander McQueen jacket with tapered leather pants, black pointy pumps and a Swarovski necklace.

Back in April actress Camille Guaty wore this multi-coloured Adam Spring 2009 dress when she arrived at the LA premiere of “Ghosts Of Girlfriends Past”.

The dress was so eye catching and unlike anything we’ve ever seen before on the red carpet.

I loved the simple silver strappy sandals the actress paired with her dress.

Keke Palmer wore the same dress this weekend at the “2010 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards”.

The young actress teamed her dress with lavender heels.

Looking at the dresses side by side, I realise how the dress looks better with a subtle heel as they aren’t competing with the dress so Camille wins for me.

Most Colourful Award
Keke Palmer’s look was very colourful on the orange carpet at the 2010 Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards.

Whilst Miranda Cosgrove was jumping ahead a season, Keke Palmer went back a few to pick her beautiful Adam Spring 2009 dress.

I love that all these girls are picking young fun pieces for this event.

Keke’s multi coloured dress was one of my favourites from the Spring 2009 season.

Regular readers may remember that Camille Guaty wore this same dress nearly a year ago and it looks as amazing today as it did then.

Thankfully no black or white heels were worn with this look. Instead Keke paired her look with Christian Louboutin ‘Banana’ lavender heels.
