Gigi Hadid’s NYFW Street Style

Much like Doutzen Kroes, model Gigi Hadid has also been out and about in New York City amidst the hustle and bustle of New York Fashion Week.

When she hasn’t been walking the runways the likes of Anna Sui, Prabal Gurung, and Jeremy Scott, she’s been spotted flaunting her own unique off-duty style.

First up, she donned a Tamuna Ingorokva Fall 2016 jumpsuit styled with Linda Farrow X Dries Van Noten sunglasses, Sanayi313 star-studded shoes, and one of her favoured Stalvey bags. This look reminded me of Doutzen’s The Row ensemble, as it may have been neutral in colour and simple in silhouette, but Gigi’s punchy styling kept it on the cool side—and far away from lacklustre territory.

While you might first notice the fringed Prada T-shirt and Paige Hoxton tight leather pants, there’s no doubt your gaze will quickly revert to the platform sneakers that could have easily been found in Lady Gaga’s closet. The same Linda Farrow X Dries Van Noten shades completed this ensemble that would have looked just as good with those Sanayi313 starry mules.

Introducing a bit of colour to the equation, Gigi brightened up her outlook in a bubblegum-pink 3.1 Phillip Lim sweater styled with a pair of girly embellished, cropped denim and Christian Louboutin ‘Boudiva’ glitter and velvet block heel mules. While the furry footwear may raise an eyebrow or two, I love how they reflected the playful personality that was packed into this look.

Who’s That Girl? Larsen Thompson

Making waves with her board-straight, auburn locks and dancing her way into the style spotlight, Larsen Thompson has emerged on the scene with a sense of trend-forward appeal and a uniquely individualistic look—while single-handedly making her signature freckles her best fashion accessory.

The young dancer, actress, and model, who made a cameo in Katy Perry’s ‘Chained to the Rhythm’ music video, has been spotted recently at a variety of events.

Maybelline’s Los Angeles Influencer Launch Event: On Thursday (August 10), Larsen wore a 3.1 Phillip Lim Fall 2017 ensemble that completely reinterpreted drawstring and denim. I love the crisp-white flair of the top in partnership with the bold, blue focal point of the skirt. The one thing I would have changed is her shoes, as the nude heels were a mere afterthought.

BeautyCon LA x Revlon Event: It could be the particularly pretty lighting, but this shimmery, sun-sparked look over the weekend at BeautyCon LA is one of my current favourites for the starlet. I love the intrinsic femininity that this Prabal Gurung Pre-Fall 2017 dress possesses with its cold-shoulder detailing and flared hem. And, her hair is dazzling with the emerald green tones.

BeautyCon LA: Rounding out the BeautyCon weekend on Saturday (August 12), Larsen completely changed style direction in an Alessandra Rich Fall 2017 ruffled, double-breasted jacket dress. She made no apologies for its retro styling, especially since she wore the ever-popular Stuart Weitzman ‘Clinger’ booties with it. However, I gravitate towards wishing for a sleeker sandal and an updo so as not to compete with the dress.

Yara Shahidi In 3.1 Phillip Lim – 5th Annual Beautycon Festival

Prior to the 2017 Teen Choice Awards, Yara Shahidi joined her on-screen mum Tracee Ellis Ross for the Beautycon Festival on Saturday (August 12) in LA.

Romantic flourishes were evident in 3.1 Phillip Lim’s Fall 2017 collection, and abound on this slim-fitting lace top, but styled with Mother flared jeans and rainbow bright Schutz ‘Tammi’ sandals, Yara gives the look a whole new relaxed feel.

Honestly, I don’t think I would like this on anyone else, but Yara somehow sells it to me, even if my first thought was that the hairstyle was a bit aging.

Aubrey Plaza in Topshop & 3.1 Phillip Lim – Comic Con 2017

Aubrey Plaza has also been in the mix at Comic-Con 2017, where she attended the Entertainment Weekly and FX After Dark event on Thursday (July 20) before swinging by the ‘Legion’ screening and Q&A on Friday (July 21).

Entertainment Weekly and FX After Dark: Going for a sweetly casual look, she wore a flirty Topshop floral-print romper that had its charm. But I cannot say that the white Tod’s shoes would have been my first pick.

‘Legion’ Screening: As for her second look, the Tod’s shoes again were a bit befuddling as the orange hue was a strange contrast with her playfully chic 3.1 Phillip Lim ensemble. I think it would have been far better served with a complementary sandal for a more streamlined approach. But, you cannot fault her for having some fun.

Rachel Bilson In Zimmermann + 31. Phillip Lim – SiriusXM & Build Series: CMT’s Nashville

While out in New York City promoting her new role on CMT’s ‘Nashville,’ Rachel Bilson stopped by the SiriusXM Studios on Wednesday (June 21) before heading to Build Series the next day (June 22).

SiriusXM: With a big hair game going strong, Rachel took a cue from southern Nashville charm in this look. Yet, those curls were perhaps a little too voluminous for the edgier spirit of this Zimmermann Fall 2017 high-low, pleated skirt sleekly paired with a fitted black top and style-forward Azzedine Alaïa sandals.

Build Series
: While I loved the galactic silver metallic accents she brought to this 3.1 Phillip Lim Pre-Fall 2017 top and skirt in her Isabel Marant bauble earrings and Christian Louboutin heels, the ensemble’s proportions didn’t exactly give her petite frame any elongating favour. However, it was her hairstyle that yet again let me scratching my head, as it was far too mumsy for the lovely actress.

Lady Gaga In 3.1 Phillip Lim & Marcelo Burlon County of Milan – Out In New York City

Ever the style chameleon, Lady Gaga was seen changing her fashion stripes while out and about in New York City over the weekend on Sunday (May 14).

Look 1: While in Midtown, Lady Gaga strapped into a traffic-stopping 3.1 Phillip Lim Pre-Fall 2017 outfit that I’d like to think she molded into her version of urban cowgirl, what with the belt and Gladys Tamez custom hat. Of course, glitzy Roberto Cavalli shades along with Jennifer Fisher pipe earrings and an Erickson Beamon choker made it Gaga glam. But, I still couldn’t find a lot of affection for the striped sections of her yoga-style pants.

Look 2: With the same hat and shades in play, she quick-changed into a Marcelo Burlon County of Milan Fall 2017 rose-embroidered top paired with a form-fitting skirt that was actually a dress worn halfway up for a bit of signature Gaga edge. Despite its quirks, I love how this ladylike-rebel look came together with studded Sergio Rossi ‘SR1’ booties rounding out the ensemble.
