Allison Williams In Jonathan Saunders & Zosia Mamet In Marc by Marc Jacobs - 'Girls' New York Press Conference

Allison Williams and Zosia Mamet attended the Hollywood Foreign Press Association press conference for ‘Girls’, held at The London Hotel in New York City on Monday afternoon.

I’m not usually a fan of posting cropped photos, but following Zosia’s disastrous look from ‘The Heat’ New York premiere, I thought it was only fair to show her improvement.

Allison Williams: The pretty actress, who apparently doesn’t own a hair band, let her enviable, glossy tresses tumble down her back, wearing a red floral-print Jonathan Saunders Pre-Fall 2013 sleeveless dress.

Zosia Mamet: As said above, Zosia’s look was much improved. The talented actress wore a blue-and-green printed Marc by Marc Jacobs Fall 2013 ensemble styled with a side-swept braided ponytail and a selection of rings. Now if only she could turn that frown upside down.

‘The Heat’ New York Premiere

‘The Heat’ New York Premiere

The New York premiere of ‘The Heat’ took place at the Ziegfeld Theatre on Sunday evening with the two main stars in attendance.

Sandra Bullock: The actress slipped back to wearing black, wearing an Ermanno Scervino leather dress following her amazing purple-hued Prabal Gurung frock from last week. She makes me forgive and forget thanks to her outstanding Bottega Veneta appliquéd leather sandals.

Melissa McCarthy: When I saw this look I said “almost”. The actress wore a black jumpsuit, with a rather odd sarong-like detail wrapped around her waist. This detail kills the look, doing more harm than then intended good. I’m sure she would have looked better without it. Someone needs to put Mr Tadashi Shoji on her speed dial.

Zosia Mamet: One can only assume that Zosia was rolled out of bed and onto the red carpet for this premiere, as there is no other reason for this look.

Zosia Mamet In Preen – Glamour Women of the Year Awards 2013

Zosia Mamet In Preen - Glamour Women of the Year Awards 2013

Making a rather festive entrance, Zosia Mamet was no wallflower at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards 2013, hosted at Berkeley Square Gardens in London on Tuesday night.

The ‘Girls’ star, who won the International TV Actress award, wore a Preen Fall 2013 dress for the occasion.

Featuring heavy embellishment, the frock was decorated with multicoloured jewels that were shaped into floral blooms and arranged in a trellis pattern. This was a glittery garden, to say the least, but the silhouette of the dress and the waist-widening black center band left something to be desired.

While the sparkling ensemble had some fun flourish, it didn’t stand a chance with the lacklustre styling. Plain black pumps didn’t deliver the same zing as the red runway booties.

Once again the minimal makeup trend was alive and well here, except for Zosia’s overly exaggerated winged cat eye. But a bold lippie or a bit of blush would have breathed some life into this look.

Zosia Mamet In Honor – ‘The Company You Keep’ & ‘Trance’ New York Premieres

Zosia Mamet In Honor - ‘The Company You Keep’ & ‘Trance’ New York Premieres

Zosia Mamet is giving Olivia Palermo a run for her money this week by stepping out twice in two days for two different premieres. The only thing consistent was her choice of designer: Honor.

‘The Company You Keep’ New York Premiere: Sporting a simple top knot, the ‘Girls’ actress wore a look from Honor’s Pre-Fall 2013 collection. Blue and yellow has always been a favourite colour combo of mine, so I find myself wishing that Zosia had added a yellow accent to her silk shirt and high-waisted pants – either yellow pumps, a yellow ring or even a yellow necklace. Is this look missing something, or are you fine with the way it has been presented?

‘Trance’ New York Premiere: This is my least favourite look of the two. While the colour of the Fall 2013 dress is pretty and I love the heart-shaped accents around the neckline, the dress is too shapeless for my personal taste. Factor in the rough hemming of the dress to make it shorter and the blue-and-white pointy pumps – which were quite whimsical on the runway, but in reality make Zosia’s feet look freakishly long – and this is a no from me. I never thought I would say that about an Honor look.
