13.11.17 Screening

Weekend Red Carpet Roundup

It was a fashion-filled weekend with many stylish stars stepping out on the red carpet.

Kate Mara: I must say, I’ve enjoyed the actress’s recent tailored looks. She continued her fashion reign in Christian Siriano at the 2017 Humane Society Of The United States To The Rescue! event on Friday (November 10). The rich green fabric of the slim suit was contrasted beautifully with the Jimmy Choo ‘Kerry’ sandals and pink Tyler Ellis bag.

Alison Brie: I almost did not recognize the actress at the ‘The Disaster Artist’ AFI Fest screening on Sunday (November 12). Her Marc Jacobs dress combined with the soft curls had a charming retro feel. It had a Betty Boop quality to it with the sweet bow detail and frill on the bodice contrasting the black belt and platform ankle-strap pumps.

Zoe Saldana: There were a myriad of looks at the Baby2Baby Gala on Saturday (November 11). The ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ actress looked regal in this black gown with suiting elements. The large notched collar framed her face. But, it was the undone skirt which opened to reveal her delicate sandals that made it.

Gucci @ 2017 LACMA Art + Film Gala

As the 2017 LACMA Art + Film Gala in LA on Saturday (November 4) was presented by Gucci, there were quite a number of Gucci looks in attendance from the label’s devoted darlings.

Dakota Johnson: You might recognize this Gucci Spring 2018 embellished, plisse gown from the Red Carpet Wish List for Mandy Moore. Yet, its languid, boudoir glamour was actually in keeping with Dakota’s style, too. I know some may qualify the swoop of her hairstyle as a bit mature, and I wouldn’t disagree. However, I did like the drama brought forth from her long earrings and oxblood lip.

Zoe Saldana: I think Zoe may be the only one who could wear this Gucci gown and not make me want to immediately rip off the giant pink rose corsages from the flamenco, caped shoulders.

Zoe Saldana In Armani Privé – Green Carpet Fashion Awards

Over the weekend, Zoe Saldana enchanted at the inaugural Green Carpet Fashion Awards, Italia on Sunday (September 24) in Milan, Italy.

Paying homage to an Italian design house, she was a vision in lilac wearing a wispy confection from the Armani Privé Spring 2016 collection.

I love the whimsical romance of the cloud-like ruffles that floated weightless from top to toe.

This is a gown that needs no counterpart, so she kept the styling as pared down as possible with soft waves and complementary sandals completing the effortlessly beautiful statement.

Zoe Saldana In Valentino – Avant Garden Gala

With a bohemian-mod ode to garden-party style, Zoe Saldana had quite the apropos look for the ‘Avant Garden’ event on Saturday (July 29), hosted by Valentino in Santa Barbara, California.

The Valentino Fall 2017 collection took much inspiration from the Memphis Group movement, and that jazzy, pop-art influence was seen all over her colourful dress that featured a patchwork of hands, numerals, and other geometric objets.

Despite the quirk of the motifs, the design’s simple, loose silhouette maintained an easy elegance that kept the look on strong footing for such an outdoor soiree.

It was a nice change of pace from the expected garden florals blooming across a frock. Would you agree?

Zoe Saldana in Giambattista Valli – NALIP 2017 Latino Media Awards

Zoe Saldana was honoured with an award at the NALIP 2017 Latino Media Awards on Saturday (June 24) in Hollywood, California.

Ripe with glistening, embellished strawberries throughout, this Giambattista Valli Fall 2017 dress riffed on playful whimsicality—with a grown-up edge to the girly inclinations that rested most prominently in the big bow at the waist.

I’m sure all those with sheer fatigue can appreciate the proper lining of the lace-accented frock that really took nothing away from the original version.

A pink lip and loose curls completed the sultry-sweet look that didn’t take itself too seriously.
