Valentino Fall 2013 Couture Front Row

Valentino Fall 2013 Couture Front Row

The front row of the Valentino Fall 2013 Couture presentation was nearly as drama-doused as the runway, as an array of lovelies let loose their fashion fantasies at the Hotel Salomon de Rothschild on Wednesday in Paris, France.

Olivia Palermo: Mingling hard and soft, Olivia is perhaps one of the few who can work a fluffy, frothy black tube frock, worn over a structured white button-down blouse, to her ultimate advantage. Never far from piles of accessories, she topped off her statement with a bronze and black gemstone necklace, statement cuffs, and a Valentino studded carved transparent clutch.

Zhang Ziyi: Giving us a red-haute moment, the Chinese actress stunned in a Valentino Spring 2013 Couture cape gown, worn with Christian Louboutin heels, Boucheron jewels and an Omega timepiece. The sophisticated, old-Hollywood spirit of this silhouette had me at hello.

Miroslava Duma: Many of you will be glad to see that Mira wore Valentino at the designer’s show, taking a bold step in this lapis-blue Valentino Fall 2013 frock. While her black tights and chunky-funky platform sandals could have raised some eyebrows, they really only served to draw even more attention to this retro-shift dress’s sublime saturated hue—and her red lippie.

Zhang Ziyi In Lanvin – Lancôme Show by Alber Elbaz Party

Zhang Ziyi In Lanvin – Lancôme Show by Alber Elbaz Party

Zhang Ziyi joined Gemma Arterton and Pace Wu on the red carpet for the ‘Lancôme Show by Alber Elbaz’ party, held at Le Trianon in Paris, France yesterday evening during Haute Couture week.
Like everyone else at this event, she wore a Lanvin dress.

Her white frothy creation was selected from the Resort 2014 collection, to which she added a cropped Lanvin tuxedo jacket with satin lapels which prevents the look from feeling too saccharine.

To add even more of an edge to her look, she accessorized with a ruby-stoned Lanvin necklace, a bow-accented leather belt, Repossi rings and earrings, plus the ultimate accessories when toughening up a look: Christian Louboutin spiked heels.

The two dominant pieces of this look for me are the necklace and the shoes. I wish she had opted for one or the other. I would take the shoes over the necklace, as much as I love the statement piece.

Most of you really disliked her previous Chloe look, so does this look get Ziyi back in your good graces?

Zhang Ziyi In Chloé – X Factor China Finale

Zhang Ziyi Chloe X Factor China

Following her conservative look for the ‘Chevalier De L’Ordre Des Arts Et Des Lettres’ Awards, Zhang Ziyi opted for something more theatrical for the X Factor China finale, where she serves as a judge.

On this occasion her look was from the Chloé Fall 2013 collection. She selected a black sheer polka-dot blouse with a white collar and placket over a black lace bustier, paired with a frothy sheer polka-dot tiered skirt accented with an Alaïa studded belt.

The contrast of these pieces couldn’t be more different; you have a risqué top paired with a fairytale-like skirt.

I have to say this one took a while to grow on me; however, the belt remains my biggest issue as it doesn’t allow the naughty and nice aspects of this look to flow fluidly.

Yet another pair of white pumps, this time courtesy of Saint Laurent, Butler & Wilson jewels and her H. Stern ring completed her look.

I have a feeling this will be a marmite look, so do you love it or hate it?

Zhang Ziyi In Chloé – Chevalier De L’Ordre Des Arts Et Des Lettres Awards

Zhang Ziyi In Chloé - Chevalier De L'Ordre Des Arts Et Des Lettres Awards

Zhang Ziyi attended the ‘Chevalier De L’Ordre Des Arts Et Des Lettres’ Awards held at the Embassy of France in Beijing, China yesterday.

The Asian beauty selected a summery Chloe Spring 2013 white silk dress layered with a cotton birdcage overlay, which she styled with white Louboutin pumps, an Omega watch and an H. Stern ring.

White pumps continue to be a red carpet staple and I have to admit I am coming around to liking them; even if the white-on-white does feel a bit obvious, it works on this occasion.

A pop of red via her nails and lip colour provided the finishing touches.

Chanel The Little Black Jacket Exhibition: Beijing

Chanel The Little Black Jacket Beijing

The Little Black Jacket exhibition hosted by Chanel was presented in Beijing, China yesterday evening with a mix of local celebs and Chanel ambassadresses.

Zhou Xun: No stranger to wearing Chanel, the Asian beauty looked like a delicate porcelain doll, wearing a black-and-white Chanel Spring 2013 Couture sequin dress featuring floral embroidery. Everything about her look is so sculptured, right down to her bowl haircut. The only thing I would change about the look is the platform stripper-like heels.

Zhang Ziyi: The actress was the picture of elegance once again, wearing a chic yet laidback look from Chanel’s Pre-Fall 2013 collection. I didn’t see much red carpet potential from this collection considering how heavily layered each piece was presented. However, I love that Ziyi stripped back the layers to give us this beautiful look, which she styled with a Chanel Fall 2012 silver belt and Chanel Fine jewelry. Step back people, she’s on a roll.

Alicia Vikander: The Swedish actress wore a summery look from the Chanel Resort 2013 collection. Her flirty blue lace top and skirt was styled with an ocean-blue-and-white clutch and striped blue-and-white Chanel Resort 2013 shoes to add a nautical vibe to her sophisticated look.

Zhang Ziyi In Jill Stuart & Andrew Gn – Shanghai Film Festival

Zhang Ziyi In Jill Stuart & Andrew Gn - Shanghai Film Festival

After recently showing us her inner matador-ess and pattern print-cess, Zhang Ziyi once again proved she was a red-carpet chameleon on Monday, debuting two completely different looks during the 16th Shanghai International Film Festival in China.

‘My Lucky Star’ Press Conference: To promote her movie at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, the actress presented an adorable blue-and-white gingham dress by Jill Stuart that had a slightly nautical appeal.  A dual-tone belt offset the exaggerated hip silhouette of the sweet frock. She accessorized with nude Casadei stilettos, a wristful of bangles and a white Omega watch, along with effortless, loose waves.

BONA Lucky Night: For the event at Peace Hotel, Zhang wore a glossy copper-and-black Andrew Gn dress that featured a bold tribal-inspired pattern. She styled the dress with Jimmy Choo peep-toe pumps and H. Stern jewels. An updo would have changed up the look even more from her earlier entrance.
