Red Carpet Fashion Awards

It was a tie this week, as you couldn’t decide between Zhang Ziyi’s bright-orange Vionnet frock and Lily Collins’ backless Houghton gown.

The looks couldn’t be more different: Ziyi’s was sexy and flirty, while Lily’s possessed an ethereal goddess quality.

My pick was Ashley Madekwe in her Diane von Furstenberg jumpsuit, you won’t be surprised to learn. Even though I hate this word, the best word to sum up this look is ‘fierce’, feline fierce, with plenty of sex appeal and attitude to boot, with impeccable styling and flawless makeup putting the icing on this tasty cake.

Our menswear choices differed too. You went for the sleek suaveness of Liam Hemsworth in his ice-blue suit, whereas Robert Sheehan in his paisley-print Dent De Man suit was always going to be a winner for me.

Zhang Ziyi In J Mendel - 'The Grandmaster' New York Screening

After being interviewed in the rain on Good Morning America earlier in the day, Zhang Ziyi continued to promote her new movie, ‘The Grandmaster’, inside the Regal E-Walk Stadium in New York City, where a screening was held.

Following her brightly hued frock, she opted for this dark and mysterious forest-green J. Mendel silk-chiffon Fall 2013 pleated gown with a layered skirt and plunging neckline.

Carrying a J. Mendel ‘Moonlight’ minaudière clutch, the rest of her accessories included Tesiro earrings, Repossi rings and black Christian Louboutin peep-toes.

While some might say she is overdressed for a screening, I will never frown at her continued glamorous efforts. I particularly love the accessories on this occasion – they really bring the look alive.

Zhang Ziyi In Vionnet - Good Morning America

Despite the rain, Zhang Ziyi’s guest appearance on Good Morning America was taped outside in Times Square, New York this morning.

The Asian beauty talked about her latest movie, ‘Grandmasters’, sharing that she had to go through intense workouts in order to perfect fight scenes.

Looking very pretty, she lit up the gloomy location wearing a bright-orange Vionnet Resort 2014 drop-waist ribbed dress with a pleated skirt and mesh yoke, to which she added an orange leather belt.

I much prefer her version of the dress sans collar in this citrus hue, as it not only makes her glow, but it also brightens up the gloomy morning.

Sporting blown-out locks, she completed her look with Louboutin pumps, Tesiro earrings and Repossi rings.

Zhang Ziyi In Emilio Pucci & Barbara Bu - 'The Grandmaster' LA Screening

Zhang Ziyi attended an advance screening of ‘The Grandmaster’ in Beverly Hills, California on Monday evening.

With it being a fairly informal affair, the actress wore an Emilio Pucci ivory top with black embroidery styled with black Pucci shorts and a Barbara Bui jacket from the Pre-Fall 2013 collection.

Many of you haven’t been too enamoured with her last few looks, with some stating that she’s somewhat lost her way, so does this more effortless look get her back in your good graces?

Christian Louboutin t-bar sandals and rose-gold drop earrings provided the finishing touches to her makeup-free look.

Best Dressed of The Week - Zhang Ziyi In Valentino Couture & Pace Wu In Ulyana Sergeenko Couture

You guys weren’t crazy about either Zhang Ziyi’s Lanvin look or her Giambattista Valli Couture gown; however, you fell head over heels in love with her Valentino Couture cape dress.

I had a much harder time picking a favourite, with Miroslava, Rinko, Naomie and Sandra all impressing, but my final winner was the gorgeous Pace Wu in Ulyana Sergeenko Couture.

Zhang Ziyi In Giambattista Valli Couture - Le Grand Bal De La Comedie Francaise

Zhang Ziyi attended Le Grand Bal De La Comedie Francaise held at La Comedie Francaise in Paris, France yesterday evening.

As you know, the Giambattista Valli Fall 2013 Couture show took place on Monday evening, and despite not attending the show, Ziyi snagged the first piece literally right off the runway.

Her strapless white couture gown with a long train and colourful floral appliqués had a very regal feel to it, so in keeping with the runway styling she opted to wear a Luigi Scialanga for Giambattista Valli gold tiara.

You guys have found Ziyi’s red carpet looks very hit and miss over the last few weeks, so does this return to her princessy ways get her back in your good books?
