Zhang Ziyi took to the stage for the opening ceremony of the 4th Beijing International Film Festival held at China’s National Grand Theatre on Wednesday (April 16) in Beijing, China.
Changing out of her Elie Saab red carpet jumpsuit, the actress outdid herself, wearing a stunning Zuhair Murad Spring 2014 Couture gown.
This was my favourite couture show of the season, and I’m delighted to see so many pieces making their way off the runway and onto the red carpet.
Ziyi looked radiant in her long-sleeved fully beaded gold gown featuring a long train.
Some may be suffering a tinge of disappointment that this beauty wasn’t worn on the red carpet, but I’m just grateful that I can’t see what shoes she’s wearing under this gown.
Of the two looks, which do you prefer: this glamorous, somewhat expected gown or the sleek Elie Saab jumpsuit?

Zhang Ziyi attended the 4th Beijing International Film Festival at China’s National Grand Theatre on Wednesday (April 16) in Beijing, China.
Opting for a look equally as glamorous as her Hong Kong Film Awards outing, the actress selected an Elie Saab Pre-Fall 2014 jumpsuit.
The creamy hue and delicate embellishments led the way, with a simple updo and Jimmy Choo ‘Sweetie’ clutch completing the look.
While I prefer this more streamline offering for it’s younger, more modern feel, those shoes are like a knife to the heart (and the eyeballs).
Would you agree?

Zhang Ziyi, nominated in the Best Actress category for her role in ‘The Grandmaster’, graced the red carpet for the 33rd Hong Kong Film Awards on Sunday (April 9) in Hong Kong.
You won’t be surprised to learn that the actress wore an Armani Prive Spring 2014 look, as the Asian actress tends to wear the brand for big occasions, plus she was front row at the show back in January to personally pick this piece.
Just last week she wore Armani Privé to the 8th Asian Film Awards , and on this occasion she selected a beaded jacket for some sparkle, with a midnight-blue floor-sweeping skirt giving the look graceful fluidity.
A black clutch, dark pink pumps and a selection of silver jewels provided the finishing touches to her sophisticated look.
I’m delighted to see her back to giving us head-to-toe perfection.

With the city scene of Hong Kong as a backdrop, Christian Dior hosted their Spring 2014 Couture fashion show on Wednesday (April 9), inviting along Asian and French stars.
Laetitia Casta: The French actress truly took my breath away wearing a multi-coloured fringed silk dress from Dior Fall 2013 Couture collection which she styled with an architectural metal belt and dual-colour strappy Dior sandals. Hair and makeup were kept simple to ensure her dress was the focus and how could it not be?
Gwei Lun Mei: Working a monotone look, the Asian beauty wore an uber chic minimalist look from Christian Dior’s Pre-Fall 2014 collection including a wool jacket, wide leg trousers and white clutch. I love this look just as much as Laetitia’s. So hip it hurts.
Dakota Johnson and Zhang Ziyi attended an event hosted by Calvin Klein in Singapore, to celebrate the brand. The showcase included glass installations featuring Calvin Klein’s Home pieces and more than 30 models wearing looks from the brand’s fall collection.
It is the first time a fashion event was held at the Old Kallang Airport, which was closed in 1955.
The star-studded show also marked the opening of four new Calvin Klein Collection stores in Southeast Asia this year.
Dakota Johnson: The ’50 Shades of Grey’ actress wore a Calvin Klein on trend pink layered frock with a sheer skirt styled with black accessories including a belt nipping in her waist.
Zhang Ziyi: Opting for a full length grey look from Calvin Klein’s Pre-Fall 2014 collection, the actress styled the look with a large metal box clutch and a selection of silver jewels including a studded bracelet.
Both ladies look lovely, however, I am drawn to Zhang’s look, mostly for the interesting way she styled a very simple look.
