Best Dressed Of The Week – Zhang Ziyi In J. Mendel & Kate Beckinsale In Kaufmanfranco

Best Dressed Of The Week - Zhang Ziyi In J Mendel & Kate Beckinsale In Kaufmanfranco

Zhang Ziyi was your best dressed this week. You were captivated by the Asian actress’ beauty, wearing a stunning J. Mendel floral gown styled with dazzling emerald earrings.
My favourite this week was Kate Beckinsale.

I know some believed that the actress overcooked her Kaufmanfranco stunning white gown with her Bulgari Serpenti necklace, however, I think it made the look along with her Lee Savage clutch and simple ponytail. Head-to-toe perfect.

Zhang Ziyi In J. Mendel – 2014 Golden Horse Awards

Zhang Ziyi In J Mendel - 2014 Golden Horse Awards

Zhang Ziyi attended the 51st Golden Horse Awards held at Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall on Saturday (November 22) in Taipei, Taiwan.

The actress stunned wearing a J. Mendel Resort 2015 gown with a mint green skirt and lace netted sleeves spliced with an orange detail accenting the waist.

I love how she took evening dressing in an enigmatic direction with this dark-print gown, as these occasions can tend to bring out the pastel-hued poofy princess gowns which the actress has evolved past.

Styling her hair into a chic chignon, those earrings deserve a spot on the BDOTW list on their own.

Zhang Ziyi In Michael Kors – ‘The Crossing’ Beijing Press Conference

Zhang Ziyi In Michael Kors - 'The Crossing' Beijing Press Conference

Zhang Ziyi attended ‘The Crossing’ press conference on Monday (November 10) in Beijing, China.

The actress wore a Michael Kors Spring 2015 look in which your eye immediately goes straight to the indigo skirt with geranium embroidery.

These particular pieces have gone down really well with celebs already, and I’m pretty sure they will continue to hit the red carpet in the coming months, such is the hypnotic appeal of these botanical pieces.

Formalizing the look with a black blazer she would’ve been better off without, I love her purple suede Saint Laurent pumps and colourful jewels which styled this daytime look.

Zhang Ziyi 章子怡 In Valentino – 14th Chinese Media Awards

Zhang Ziyi In Valentino - 14th Chinese Media Awards

Zhang Ziyi attended the 14th Chinese Media Awards on Saturday (October 11) in Beijing, China.

Looking as stunning as ever, the actress blew me away wearing a Valentino Fall 2014 gown which has been lined from the runway.

Grey is not normally a colour I favour; however, I am totally swept away by the romance of this embellished gown enriched with shimmering floral-embroidered details.

Does the lining ruin this look for you? Is Zhang tall enough to pull off this look?

Zhang Ziyi In Jenny Packham – Jinji Hundred Flowers Film Festival

Zhang Ziyi In Jenny Packham - Jinji Hundred Flowers Film Festival

Zhang Ziyi attended the Jinji Hundred Flowers Film Festival in China on Saturday (September 27), where she picked up the Best Actress Award.

Perhaps knowing she was a dead-cert for the award, she selected a navy Jenny Packham Fall 2014 dress trimmed with sparkling gold detailing to complement her golden award.

The elegant streamline look – which showcases a bit more skin than we are used to seeing from Ziyi via the cut outs – is unstated glamour at its finest.

Zhang Ziyi In Lanvin – Harper’s Bazaar China Charity Gala

Zhang Ziyi In Lanvin - Harper’s Bazaar China Charity Gala

Zhang Ziyi joined Fan Bingbing on the red carpet this evening (September 19) for the Harper’s Bazaar China Charity Gala in China where she was the host.

While I was expecting an princess gown from Zhang Ziyi, she went left, and served up this laidback elegant Lanvin Resort 2015 look.

No bells, no whistles; just a achingly understated black and white silk blouse with a black maxi skirt oozing boho chic.

I love that she didn’t overdress, styling the look with some complementary accessories including a gold flower belt, silver jewels and Roger Vivier clutch.

Wavy tresses and a red lip rounded out her pitch perfect look.

J’adore. Some times less is more. Do you agree?
