Yao Chen wore a black-and-white musical-note print Miu Miu Resort 2014 mini dress to the premiere of her latest flick ‘Firestorm’ back in December.
Styled with fiery Sergio Rossi heels and sleek tresses, her look couldn’t have been more appropriately styled.
Elle Fanning wore the same dress last month, adding a white Rodarte Fall 2012 leather jacket and ankle boots, which killed the look for me.
Toughening up this look wasn’t the way to go, so Yao Chen wins for me.
Capping off a busy weekend, Yao Chen attended the ‘Firestorm’ premiere held at Garden Court on Sunday (December 15) in Hong Kong wearing her third look of the weekend.
Hitting all the right style notes, she wore a musical-note black-and-white Miu Miu Resort 2014 sleeveless frock with a scooped neckline which is considerably more playful than her previous looks.
What I love most about this look is her Sergio Rossi gladiator sandals from the Spring 2014 collection: they spell out the name of the movie, plus they add an unexpected twist to her flirty frock.
Andy Lau escorted Yao Chen down the red carpet for the ‘Firestorm’ premiere held at the Venetian Macao during the 56th Asia-Pacific Film Festival on Friday (December 13) in Macau, China.
For her second look of the day, the actress wore a Balenciaga Spring 2014 ivory suiting mini dress with a shawl collar, button-down detailing and sheer sleeves, which is a sexy take on a blazer worn as a dress.
Balenciaga ankle-cuff light-grey pumps, a Roger Vivier clutch and a Shaun Leane bracelet styled her look.
I can’t say I’m a fan of the shoes, but she looks stylish, modern and elegant as always.

Yao Chen attended the ‘Firestorm’ press conference held at the Venetian Macao during the 56th Asia-Pacific Film Festival on Friday (December 13) in Macau, China.
Looking as beautiful as ever, the actress wore a Giambattista Valli Fall 2013 Couture cap-sleeved dress with a gorgeous painterly floral print taking centre stage.
Accented with a white waistband, the dress was styled with blue peep-toes and a blue-stone cocktail ring.
Simple and elegant. Her style is always impeccable.
Having given birth to a baby boy back in July, Yao Chen was back and looking better than ever at the premiere of her latest movie, ‘Control’, in Beijing, China this week.
Picking up where she left off, the actress looked outstanding wearing a Camilla and Marc Spring 2014 black dress with an asymmetrical neckline with a mesh insert and an alluring mesh hemline.
Her figure-flattering look was styled with a quirky lip motif Jimmy Choo ‘Candy’ clutch and Jimmy Choo bow-accented black sandals.
The finishing touch was a dazzling Giuseppe Zanotti Design necklace, which accelerates this already well-styled look.
She looks so good that I almost forgot to check out the arm candy to her right.

Keira Knightley looked stunning wearing a Valentino Fall 2012 gown to the ‘Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World’ LA Film Festival premiere back in June last year.
The British actress never lets us down when it comes to red carpet dressing, and we were totally in awe of how she made the red Chanel floral metal headband work without it feeling too costumey.
Yao Chen’s motto was “anything Keira can do, I can do better”.
Sadly this wasn’t the case for me. Her red shoulder bag, while complementing the look colour-wise, still felt very out of place for such a delicate gown. I also felt the gown had lost much of its allure the second time around.
It was like someone trying to cover a Michael Jackson song: a feat like this can only be achieved to perfection once.
Keira wins by a country mile.
