Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Let’s face it, the London Olympic Closing Ceremony was a bit of a snoozefest. Judging by the reaction on Twitter, I wasn’t the only one hanging on for The Spice Girls’ performance.

Posh, Ginger, Baby, Sporty and Scary didn’t let us down.

Arriving in the blinged-out black taxis we had seen them rehearsing in earlier in the week, Victoria Beckham, Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisholm, Geri Halliwell and Emma Bunton reunited to sing the hit that made them famous, ‘Wannabe’, as well as ‘Spice Up Your Life’.

The Spice Girls didn’t wear Giles Deacon, but Victoria did.

Her sexy strapless gown with tiers, ruffles and gold embroidery was inspired by look 3 from the designer’s Fall 2012 collection. I would’ve loved to have seen her in something more colourful, but Posh was always known for her LBDs. Read more…

Yesterday the Spice Girls were spotted rehearsing for their performance at the 2012 London Olympic Games closing ceremony which takes place on Sunday.

Victoria Beckham, Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton, Mel B and Mel C were spotted clasping microphones as they stood on top of bedazzled London taxis during the practice session at the Ford car plant in Dagenham, London.

I won’t lie; I can’t wait to see their performance and what they are wearing of course. It’s going to be epic.

Other acts set to perform on the night include Jessie J, Tinie Tempah, George Michael, the Pet Shop Boys and Annie Lennox.

You may recogonise Victoria Beckham’s Celine ensemble with Walter Steiger boots, as she wore the same look at LAX back in June.

After a run of summer LBDs, celebs are finally brightening up the red carpet with citrus hues.

Orange, tangerine, coral… call them what you will; finally celebs are taking inspiration from Marc by Marc Jacobs, Alberta Ferretti, Jean Paul Gaultier and Jill Stuart’s Spring 2012 runway shows to rock this bold, bright colour on the red carpet.

Victoria Beckham, Kristin Davis, Ashley Greene and Leslie Mann have all been successful in pulling off this hue in a variety of silhouettes from figure-hugging to fit-and-flare.

If you are apprehensive about wearing orange, break up the colour a bit with a nude belt or work the look à la Solange Knowles by adding bold accessories to offset the colour slightly.

Brighter colours in hues like red-orange and tangerine often work best.

I love orange. I have an orange Equipment shirt and an orange DVF dress, which I love to mix with other bold colours and prints.

I’m sure you are just excited as me to see the Spice Girls reunion at the London Olympics 2012 closing ceremony on August 12.

Yesterday it was revealed that the five piece are set to wear designs by Giles Deacon.

It was Victoria Beckham who let the cat out of the bag, tweeting a picture of LOVE editor Katie Grand’s rabbit saying, “Morning fitting with @gilesgilesgiles, cuddle with @kegrand bunny!! X vb”.

As we all know, VB only wears her own designs, with the odd Jil Sander, Celine and Junya Watanabe piece thrown into the mix, so a fitting with an elaborate London-based designer such as Giles Deacon can only be for something more costume-like. No?

Victoria has always been a huge supporter of Giles Deacon, as you can see from the pictures of her wearing Giles Deacon back in 2010 above.

Victoria Beckham wore nothing but bubbles and a Stephen Russell tiara on the cover of the much-anticipated Glamour US September 2012 issue.

Pamela Hanson captures the designer wearing considerably more for the rest of her editorial, including a Victoria Beckham Fall 2012 dress, of course, plus an orange lace top by Lover.

Victoria talked to Glamour about her work, her marriage, her thoughts on Fifty Shades of Grey, how she reinvented her life, why she’d never say never to having another baby and she also shared that she would love to see Chloe Moretz, Clémence Poésy, and Kate Bosworth grace future covers of Glamour.

The designer not only features in the magazine, she also guest edited Glamour’s first-ever “Full-On Fashion” issue with Cindi Leive, which will be available on newsstands and online Aug 7.

Check out Victoria Beckham’s Twitter feed for exclusive photos from her cover shoot or for more information head on over to Glamour.com to read Victoria’s editor note.

On guest editing the September issue: “It’s been exciting for me to see my ideas come to life, from type colors to photo selection to casting. I even made my own list of Glamour fashion Don’ts to keep out of the issue: boat shoes (unless of course you’re designer Alber Elbaz or on a boat!), Bermuda shorts, nose rings, Crocs, and American tan tights (that’s nude pantyhose to you).”

On why she is never seen smiling: “Do you know, I don’t know?! I actually used to smile a lot in pictures. I think I only stopped smiling when I got into fashion. [Laughs.] Fashion stole my smile! I’ve created this person. And I’m not saying that’s not me, but I wouldn’t say that’s the whole me…. It’s an armor that goes up.” Read more…

David and Victoria Beckham were spotted leaving the 202 Restaurant in London’s Notting Hill yesterday following David’s meeting with the Prime Minister at No 10 to thrash out plans designed to help starving people across the globe.

Many of you thought Victoria’s Parisian look was too heavy for summer, so I’m sure you will adore her Victoria, Victoria Beckham Fall 2012 dress.

Yes it’s a Fall look, but it’s the most spring-like look we have seen from her since her stunning orange dress from earlier this month.

Apart from her rose-coloured long-sleeved dress with a swan-print ivory collar, I love the styling.

She carried a stone-coloured bag from her own collection, the same way the models do on the runway, plus she added Lanvin ‘Cypher’ wedges – yay.

No pumps, no open-toe boots. Needless to say, I love this look from head-to-toe.
