I did adore this heart-shaped chiffon one-shouldered Marc Jacobs Resort 2009 dress Victoria Beckham wore to the CFDA Awards this week. Even that back was incredibly cute.

For someone as stylist as Victoria, this was the first time I liked what she wore on the red carpet.

As usual Victoria’s off the red carpet attire was chic and sophisticated.

I love her two tiered grey skirt – and yes that is yet another new Birkin – which she wore to lunch with her gorgeous husband.

When Victoria step out for her meeting at Conde Nast, everything, excluding the Alexander McQueen shoes and the Hermes Lydie, is Prada. I guess she was hoping to bump into Anna Wintour in reception, so they could wax lyrical about their love for the brand.

I am a huge fan of Victoria Beckham’s style. Everything fits so well, is well thought-out and well tailored.

Many of you don’t like the fact that she matches a lot of her pieces colour-wise, but you can’t fault the girl for looking nothing short of perfect.

Victoria has been recently wearing a few pieces that I did not recognise from her list of favourite designers, Marc Jacobs, Roland Mouret, Antonio Berardi and Giambattista Valli.

This drove me crazy, as I am someone who is forever on the quest to find out who wore what, so I dug a bit deeper.

After digging I found out that the designer of these amazing pieces was British designer, Ana Sekularac.

Admittedly I did not know of Ana Sekularac beforehand, but Ana has been hailed as one of the most inspiring new designers to show in London last season.

For her Fall 2008 collection Sekularac took inspiration from the early Renaissance period, in particular the Italian architecture with its pure structures and silhouettes and the masterworks by Fran Angelico portraying women as angelic yet strong and independent.

Within three seasons a signature has been created, Ana works in red and black with a new colour for each season, and always has strong geometric lines.

The new collection consists of 23 different styles of day- and eveningwear in the colours black, red, blue and white. This season’s fabrics are wool, velvet, chiffon, organza and padding for outerwear and structured tailoring. The three dimensional silhouettes and the precision tailoring reflect both renaissance attire and deconstructed elements of the Matador uniform. In the tradition of the great fashion creators, all designs and impeccable detailing are created and finished by hand by couture seamstresses in the Ana Sekularac fashion atelier.

You can view the Fall 2008 collection here.

Below is Victoria Beckham wearing Ana’s stunning pieces.

Singer Roisin Murphy is also a fan of Ana’s creations.

I was invited to view the Fall 2008 collection, were I got to see the intricate details that go into each piece. Ana creates pieces that which have architectural tailoring and geometric shapes, plus her attention to detail is impeccable.

There are details were you would not expect details to exist, on linings of jackets, on the back of waistcoats, on the inside fold of coats, on hems, on sleeves, nothing is taken for granted.

I was blown away. The pieces are like works of art to be admired.

What I also loved about Ana’s designs is that you can make them your own. For example the coats that I am wearing above can worn several ways, as the lapels are adaptable.

Ana’s designs would suit strong independent women who have a unique sense of style and grace. Those who spring to mind are Daphne Guinness and Tilda Swinton.

Ana Sekularac’s is stocked at Aquaint Boutique at 18 Conduit Street, London W1. They are also looking to expand into other outlets in the UK and overseas.

I can’t wait to see what Ana presents for Spring 2009.

If there was a picture to depict redemption, this would be it.

Since crossing the pond, Victoria’s red carpet moments have not been showing her at her best.

Off the red carpet, not many can match her in the style department, but let’s face it Victoria Beckham’s Costume Institute Gala make-up and hair were a mess, and not many liked her peek-a-boo Marc Jacobs dress on the Victoria Secrets pink carpet.

This one-shouldered Marc Jacobs mini dress on the other hand is stunning.

We have seen ruffles on many red carpets recently, but Marc Jacobs gives this dress a twist with heart-shaped ruffles.

Her hair slicked back makes a nice change, and her foundation, this time is a close match the rest of her skin-tone.

10 out of 10 Mrs B.

Fellow Brit Naomi Campbell, the face of YSL Fall 2008, wore a YSL Fall 2008 ensemble including a black sheer shirt and black sequined jodhpur-style, billowing pants which narrowed at the ankle.

Looks like she has managed to sort out her hair issues, with a brand new weave.

Ashley Olsen is wearing a mannish Calvin Klein Resort 2009 tux, but manages to still look very feminine.

You feel that this ensemble is very much a homage to the late Yves Saint Laurent and his Le Smoking Tuxedo.

Wow, Hilary Duff is dazzling in this purple sequined Michael Kors tank dress.

I love the updo, the length of the dress, the snake-skin shoes and the stunning earrings.

Faultless.

Eva Mendes may be wearing just a plain white Calvin Klein Resort 2008 dress, but I love the detail on the bodice, which narrows at the waist, giving her a sleek silhouette.

Her jewelery is by Van Cleef & Arpels.

Eva Longoria disappoints big style.

You can usually rely on Eva to look fantastic on the red carpet, so this is a shock.

Her hair looks a big ragged. Not at all in the manor of her usual sleek styles.

The JLo eye make-up is not the right shade for her skin-tone, nor does it compliment her dress, and think this was the intention.

The Diane von Furstenberg dress has overly enhanced her, giving her a very cheap Pamela Anderson type look.

Only her clutch and her shoes survived this disaster.

Maggie Gyllenhaal was on presenting duties for the night.

Like many of the A list fashion pack, she is wearing an ensemble that has not even been uploaded on to Style.com yet, such is it newness.

She is wearing a green-and-black sheer tunic, embellished with sequins, and silk pants from the Proenza Schouler Resort 2009 collection.

Paula Patton looks so pretty with her side-swept bangs, wearing a one-shouldered belted black white and grey Michael Kors Spring 2008 floral gown.

This look is a very clean, simple and dainty look for Mandy Moore, which I love, as it suits her so well.

The white piping on her Abaeté gown prevents it from looking stale.

Famke Janssen oozes glamour in this white David Meister Fall 2008 one sleeved jersey cocktail dress. She compliments her dress with silver accessories.

Kim Cattrall who presented Tom Ford with the Menswear Designer of the Year Award, wore a dress that would have been perfect for one of her Sex And The City premieres.

This asymmetric navy Monique Lhuillier Fall 2008 gown with an embellished shoulder, has got to be one of the best looks I have ever seen on her.

Anna Wintour is as elegant and sophisticated as ever, in beige lace sheath dress with gold sequined embellishments and her trademark bob.

Amy Poehler wore a navy poppy floral demi-sheer Marc Jacobs Spring 2008 dress. The low U-neckline adds a little sex appeal.

Lipstick Jungle actress Kim Raver is also wearing Marc Jacobs Spring 2008.

Her dress shows off Marc Jacobs eccentricities, with 4 different pieces of fabric put together to make this uniquely beautiful dress. This collection seems to work better off the runway.

Kim compliment her dress with nude pumps, and a bag also from the Spring 2008 collection.

Actress Lauren Hutton is divine in this silk slate grey Calvin Klein Spring 2008 jumpsuit.

For the first time, in a longtime, I am not offended by Lil Kim. In fact I quite like this keyhole purple hearted Marc Jacobs mini dress. Even the make-up is not too brash.

Has she turned a corner? I doubt it, but it will fun to see what she wears next.

Georgina Chapman stunning as ever in her own Marchesa Fall 2008 design.

Carolina Herrera is breath-taking in this ice white tuxedo she designed. Her white satin shoes compliment her white satin lapels.

Caroline received of the Geoffrey Bean Lifetime Achievement Award.

Diane von Furstenberg showed her respect by decided against the dress she originally wanted to wear to choose this navy vintage YSL tuxedo.

Donna Karan wore this red haltered top from her own collection.

Tory Burch the Accessory Designer Of The Year winner, wore a pink dress from her own collection.

Vera Wang is of course in her own Fall 2008 creation.

Victoria Beckham is usually a woman of firsts, and in this case she is the first to wear these Versace Fall 2008 platform pumps.

The former singer wore these pink shoes with her pink Hermes Birkin, whilst having lunch with her son Cruz, at Pink Taco in LA. No I am not making this up.

The shoes are beautiful, but they must be around 6 or even 7 ins high.

How does she walk in them?

There are only two women in the world who will combine heels, short shorts, sunglasses, make-up and freshly coiffed hair with sport. Of course those two women are Victoria Beckham and Mariah Carey.

Victoria Beckham was the first to adopt this look, when she was invited to throw out the first pitch at the Los Angeles Dodgers vs New York Mets game last June.

She wore white shorts, a Dodgers jacket and Dries Van Noten wedged sneakers.

Not to be out done, when Super Diva Mariah Carey was invited to throw the ceremonial first pitch before a Japanese baseball match between Yomiuri Giants and Rakuten Golden Eagles at Tokyo Dome this week, she wore a pink and white bomber jacket (yes another one) with M on the front and Mariah on the back, with denim shorts and white gladiator heels.

Ridiculous does not even cover it, although at least Victoria’s has an element of sporting appeal with her Dodgers jacket and her wedged sneakers.

For this season, Christian Louboutin has created a similar wedged sneaker.

The taupe sneaker espradrille wedges have white laces and contrast patent leather piping. They even come with the signature red soles.

These wedges are available to purchase from Net-A-Porter $315 /€220 / £170
