Laura Marano In LUBLU Kira Plastinina & Paper London & Vanessa Marano In Paper London & Cynthia Rowley - 2014 Teen Choice Awards

Laura Marano and Vanessa Marano attended the 2014 Teen Choice Awards held at The Shrine Auditorium on Sunday (August 10) in Los Angeles, California.

Laura Marano: The actress looked lovely wearing a LUBLU Kira Plastinina lemon top paired with a Paper London Fall 2013 mini skirt, which she styled with Via Spiga metallic ankle-strap pumps and a matching Kotur clutch. I really love the summery lemon and green combo.

Vanessa Marano: Also going for a crop top and A-line skirt combo was older sister Vanessa, who wore a navy Paper London satin top with a floral Cynthia Rowley skirt, styled with Jimmy Choo nude pumps and a Kotur clutch.

Both girls look super cute and perfect for the occasion, with an approachable, youthful vibe and plenty of colour.

Hair Trend Spotting: Sleek Ponytails

Beauty Trend Spotting Sleek Ponytails2

Many celebs are making a usually casual hairstyle red carpet worthy by slicking strands back to perfection. Pulling your hair back is an easy go-to, but these tips will take your look to the next level. Take note from Jennifer Lopez, Holland Roden, Selena Gomez and Vanessa Marano who are each showing us how it’s done.

Celebrity hair and makeup artist, Valerie Noble, shared her favorite tips to achieving a polished pony in a few easy steps. For Vanessa’s hair, Noble started with Redken Glass 01 Smoothing Anti Frizz Serum. A product like this is crucial to the style as it not only keeps frizz at bay for those with curlier textures, it will also tame flyaways.

Next, flat iron hair bone straight. Smoothing out every curl is key to creating a sleek end product. Opt for a small 1 inch iron and focus on the roots and slightly bend ends.

Once hair is straight gather all pieces. Noble says to, “brush all the hair up, just below the crown.” Location, location, location, is very important for today’s it ponytail. Placing too high can easily turn ‘80’s, so we recommend a mid to lower placement. Gather strands using Hair Bungees. Noble used them for Vanessa’s thick hair. Hair Bungees are perfect for thick hair and give more control over desired tightness. And if your ponytail isn’t as thick as you’d like, try adding clip-in extensions.

Lastly, you’ll want to secure your work with both Redken Outshine 01 Anti-Frizz Polishing Milk and Redken’s Quick Dry 18 Instant Finishing Spray. They not only holds hair, providing long lasting results, both will also add a healthy shine to your finished look.

2014 Young Hollywood Awards

2014 Young Hollywood Awards

There was a host of other young stars who joined Chloe Moretz on the red carpet for the 2014 Young Hollywood Awards held at The Wiltern on Sunday (July 27) in Los Angeles, California.

Belle Thorne: The Disney star opted for a head-to-toe all-pink look, wearing a ’60s-style mini dress accented with emerald crystals which she styled with platform pumps that also had a crystal accent to the heel. The only thing not blinging here was her Edie Parker clutch.

Vanessa Marano: The young star, who hosted the show, shunned the expected cutesy dress in favour of something more tailored, wearing a Skaist Taylor suit featuring a pink blazer with black peaked lapels. It takes a lot of great styling and finesse to pull off this look and to prevent it from coming off too mature, especially for someone so young. So going sans top and adding sexy Oscar Tiye sandals ensured this look was kept youthful.

Ashley Tisdale: The actress worked an all-silver look, donning a tulip-hem halter V Label London dress with metallic Casadei sandals and a matching clutch. Ashley’s style can often be très predictable, but the style of dress here, especially the length, is a refreshing change, edging her in a more grown-up direction.

2012 Teen Choice Awards Red Carpet Round-Up

Here are the rest of the stars who hit the red carpet at the 2012 Teen Choice Awards on Sunday.

Victoria Justice: The young actress sported a multi-coloured animal printed halter Gomez-Gracia high-low dress with a Swarovski crystal studded leather belt. Her floaty dress was styled with a Lauren Merkin clutch, and Schutz nude pumps.

Miranda Cosgrove: At the first red carpet event to fully embrace the summer season, Miranda’s fully sequined Collette Dinnigan mini dress with crystal embellished trims feels really heavy. Her Stella McCartney black ankle strap pumps and the black clutch don’t help matters.

Ariana Grande: In the absence of Katy Perry someone had to add a quirky touch to the red carpet. Ariana looked cute as a button in a custom-painted 1950s Ladureé inspired macaroon cocktail dress, designed by Kenley Collins.
