Red Carpet Fashion Awards

MusiCares, Atlantic City

Nicky Hilton celebrated her 26th birthday this weekend in Atlantic City.

Before blowing out her candles, she walked the red carpet wearing a Christoper Kane for Topshop black dress.

The LBD has cut-out details, and is covered in grommets which appear on many of the pieces from the Christopher Kane for Topshop collection.

Taking a rare night off wearing her favourite Christian Louboutin Very Prive studded heels, she opted for a pair of Christian Louboutin Candy stud pumps.

“Make Time for CHANGE” campaign, New York

Jennifer Garner opted for a magenta RM by Roland Mouret Brise Noir dress, which is similar but not the same as dress which Cynthia Nixon wore on the Sex And The City set recently.

Surrogates LA, Premiere

Radha Mitchell’s body looks amazing in her one-sleeved Costume National Fall 2009 LBD.  She reminds me that I haven’t been to the gym in 3 weeks.

I love the texture of her dress and the pointy shoulders.

She pairs her dress with Swarovski jewelry and Casadei silver heels.

Elizabeth Banks’ Farah Angsana Fall 2009 silver dress is beautiful with it beaded cap sleeves and bow belt.

I love everything about this look including the bow heels, but I prefer Elizabeth Banks with lighter locks.

Maxim Celebrates Audrina Patridge’s October Cover, LA

Audrina Patridge also wore a dress from Farah Angsana’s Fall 2009 collection.

She looked flawless in her modified racy red mini dress, which she paired with a sparkling Daniel Swarovski clutch and Alexander McQueen strappy sandals.

Wonderbra By Dita Von Teese Launch, Milan

Dita von Teese is wearing the same style Christian Dior Pre-Fall 2009 dress which we saw on Christian Applegate earlier.

The difference is obviously the colour and Dita’s dress has polka dots on the blouse.

Macy’s Passport Gala 2009, LA

AnnaLynne McCord looked sexy wearing a nude Topshop one-sleeved dress with an embellished floral detail on the shoulder.

She wore her dress with purple suede pumps, a grey clutch and a selection of bangles.

Judith Leiber Rodeo Drive Store Opening, LA

Katie Cassidy continues to impress.

This time she wears an olive green Yigal Azrouel one-sleeved jersey dress, with blue Brian Atwood heels and of course a Judith Leiber clutch.

Also carrying a Judith Leiber clutch was Ginnifer Goodwin, who wore a navy Camilla & Marc Dylan trench coat as a dress, paired with Stella McCartney heels.

Opening of Renaissance NY Hotel 57, New York

Becki Newton also opted for Camilla & Marc for her red carpet appearance.

The ‘Ugly Betty’ actress wore a cute black and gold bustier dress with her favourite Jimmy Choo Karina studded shoe-boots, paired with a stack of gold bracelets.

Neutrogena Fresh Faces of Music, LA

I love Hayden Panettiere’s strapless fitted dress, but as we have seen many times before the dress is too tight around her bust.

Her look is completed with Sergio Rossi red snakeskin peep-toes, and a Christian Louboutin clutch.

Vanessa Hudgens wore a Camilla and Marc Aven nude leather dress, with silver heels.

Guests Arrive For Khloe Kardashian And Lamar Odom’s Wedding, LA

Only the publicity hungry Kardashian’s can turn a wedding into a red carpet event.

Kelly Osbourne who is apparently friendly enough with the Kardashian’s to be invited to Khloe’s wedding wore a black and white printed Preen Lightening dress, with black heels.

Adrienne Bailon looked stunning wearing an electric blue strapless BCBG Max Azria gown.

Brittny Gastineau arrived wearing a beautiful flowing maroon gown, whilst LaLa Vazquez opted for a very sexy Dolce & Gabbana ruched two-tone dress with Christian Louboutin Archidisco T-strap sandals

Samantha Thavasa Disney Collection, Japan

Beyonce and Solange Knowles were in Japan to promote the “Samantha Thavasa Disney Collection” of handbags.

I would’ve thought a younger face like Vanessa Hudgens, Selena Gomez or Miley Cyrus would have been more appropriate to promote Disney line.

Anyway the sisters looked fabulous at the unveiling.

Beyonce looked svelte wearing a Akiko Ogawa Fall 2009 strapless blue patterned dress with an asymmetrical skirt and taupe heels.

It was a drastic transformation but Solange Knowles looks good with her new ‘do. I would never have the guts to sport this look myself so kudos to her.

She wore a white tank top with a cute ruffled pink skirt.

Solange has obviously been inspired by her sisters love of fierce heels, because she’s sporting a very interesting pair of Moschino Cheap & Chic Fall 2009 wedges.

DoSomething.org Celebrates The Power Of Youth, LA

Ashley Greene is becoming my Sophia Bush of 2009.

Each event she gives us something new. It was cute at the Teen Choice Awards, and sassy at this event wearing an Opening Ceremony black bustier dress with a lattice detail on the back.

Sultry soft waves, a mustard clutch and ivory Etro heels complete the look.

Shenae Grimes gives us a rich colour wearing a cute red Moschino tiered v-neck sleeveless dress, with some stunning accessories.

I love that bracelet.

Aubrey O’Day pairs her Alejandro Ingelmo woven slingbacks with a studded top and black leather skirt with an asymmetrical zipper.

Surprisingly covered up for Miss O’Day.

I’m not crazy about Leah Renee’s hairstyle but I do love the ruffles on her Notte by Marchesa strapless dress, which she pairs with Giuseppe Zanotti sandals.

“Bandslam” Special Screening, LA

Earlier I spoke about Leighton Meester’s weekend disaster, well Vanessa Hudgens had her own too.

She temporarily revert back to her tried and much tested boho inspired look wearing a Halé Bob’s silk chiffon maxi halter dress.

The print is hideous, the dress makes her look really short, and her feather earrings are cringe-worthy.

Not a good look.

PURE Nightclub, Las Vegas

Jenny McCartney shows us how thigh-high boots can go terribly wrong, undoing all the hard work fashion magazines have been doing trying to convince me that this look can work off the runway.

Best Dressed Award
Alexis Bledel maybe the surprise choice for Best Dressed, but she was totally captivating wearing a stunning blue ‘Opening Ceremony’ dress with a lace yoke and hem which made her blue eyes sparkle.

Her look was paired with Loeffler Randall Genevieve asymmetrical zip sandals.

Risk That Paid Off Award
It seems that Leighton Meester is doing her best to totally separate herself from her “Gossip Girl” character, which is why we are getting edgier looks from her.

The actress opted for a chic black and white striped Louis Vuitton mini dress with a layered skirt which could have gone horrible wrong, but she works it well.

She paired her dress with red Brian Atwood heels which are to die for.

Best White Award
It’s not often we see the sexy side of Jordana Brewster.

I think it’s the power of her white Herve Leger Resort 2010 bandage dress which brought it out in her.

As always, I would have preferred a different colour heel to her black Jimmy Choo Billie Lizard print sandals.

Best Rock Chick Award
Please don’t be surprised that Kristen Stewart is on this list. This may not be to everyone’s liking, but at least Kristen isn’t trying to be someone she’s not.

With terrible mullet forced upon her for her upcoming movie “The Runaways”, I think she makes the best of a bad hair day wearing an edgy Rock & Republic Fall 2009 plunging v-neck dress with a spiked skirt and Jerome C. Rousseau booties.

She tones down the uber sexy dress with a white tank top.

Rihanna will be kicking herself that she didn’t see this first.

Best Brand Ambassador Award
Nikki Reed was flying the flag for Miu Miu wearing a modified dress from their Fall 2009 collection, with a studded Miu Miu clutch and Miu Miu suede cut-out sandals.

I love the modified dress on her as it’s more youthful than the runway dress.

I can picture the runway version being worn by Rachel Weisz or Jennifer Connelly.

Best Re-Run Award
I’m instantly drawn to Audrina Patridge’s Courtney Crawford turquoise patent leather platform pumps, but her purple Zuhair Murad Spring 2009 strapless ruched dress is equally dazzling.

You may remember that Hayden Panettiere wore this same dress recently during “Comic Con”.

Best Embellishments Awards
Emma Roberts’ Monique Lhuillier Resort 2009 white mini dress has an exquisite embellished neckline, which could be easily mistaken for statement necklace.

As always she paired her pretty dress with Brian Atwood black booties.

Best Legs Award
Fergie puts her best foot forward wearing a cute Marc Jacobs Resort 2010 mini dress covered with multi-coloured sequins.

I’m glad she didn’t opt for a boring LDB, but a sexy LBD with some pizazz.

I would have preferred the runway heels though, hers feel really heavy.

Simple Yet Stunning Award
Jennifer Morrison can do flashy, but she’s at her best when she keeps things simple.

The actress looks divine wearing a mint green Missoni Resort 2010 dress with a silver box clutch.

Wish Come True Award
A few years ago I was longing for Vanessa Hudgens to wear a major label and here she is wearing a purple Christian Dior Fall 2009 mini dress.

I love the dress on her, but I just wish she’d left the skirt alone. It would’ve been better cut short to allow it to flow like on the runway, than hemmed up.

Her dress was complemented with purple Brian Atwood pumps and a sliver clutch.

Pretty In Pink Award
Although I feel like I have seen this look many times before on Hayden Panettiere, there’s no denying how cute she looks in her pink Zac Posen dress with her favourite nude Christian Louboutin heels.

Best Floral Award
Ashley Greene was picture perfect wearing a Dolce & Gabbana ensemble including a light blue bustier top and floral print skirt.

I adore her ruby heels and purple clutch which complete her look.

Best Shoes Award
Ashley Tisdale wore a gorgeous wearing a cute Used/Unused bustier dress with Christian Louboutin Very Prive studded peep-toe pumps.

I told you these heels would be a hit with celebrities.

Most Sophisticated Award
At first I was miffed at Cameron Diaz for not showing off her best asset on the red carpet – her legs – but now I have come to realise that Cameron appears to have moved on from that look to a more sophisticated style.

Cameron looked so elegant and sophisticated wearing a grey figure-hugging Alexander McQueen asymmetrical zip dress.

Her stunning Pierre Hardy blue peep-toes are simply divine.

Most Cute Award
Every time I see Brenda Song on the red carpet the first thing I always say is “Ahhhh, she’s so cute”.

The cutie attempted to toughen up her look wearing a black and white Alexander Wang jersey dress with black clutch and black strappy sandals.

Most Interesting Award
Had Keke Palmer not worn the gold sequined bolero I probably wouldn’t have paid much attention to her look, but it’s so eye-catching.

The bolero adds an interesting dimension to her look.

Camilla Skovgaard ankle boots complete the look.

Best High-Street Look Award
Kristen Bell mixed a Topshop black jumpsuit with gold Jimmy Choo Flynn sandals.

5th Annual HollyShorts Film Festival’s Opening Night Celebration, LA

Demi Moore looked stunning wearing a simple burnt orange J. Mendel dress, with an asymmetrical neckline and a jeweled detail on the hip.

Taupe pumps complete the look.

Kristen Dunst opted for a cute blue Miu Miu strapless mini dress with black pumps.

Love the dress, but dislike the uninspired pumps.

A Pea In The Pod Hosts “nicole” Launch Party, LA

Nicole Richie has her own jewelery line ‘House Of Harlow’, but she’s now designing a maternity collection for A Pea In A Pod.

The mum-to-be modeled her collection wearing a beautiful cream and black floral print silk top with a fitted black dress.

Givenchy heels and a gold pendent necklace completed the look.

“Bandslam” – LA Premiere

For some reason I’m getting a strong feeling of de ja vu with Vanessa Hudgens in this dress.

It kinda reminds me of the Moschino dress she wore at the “High School Musical 3: Senior Year” Japan Premiere.

Her Georges Hobeika dress is cute, but I can’t say I’m particularly wowed by it.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, “when did Disney stars become so boring on the red carpet?”

Alyson Michalka and Amanda Michalka are like two Paris Hilton’s in the making.

High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens, shows us she’s all grown-up in the latest edition of InStyle UK July 2009.

Ben Watts shot her cover, in which the star appears to be waving the flag for her country wearing a navy blue blazer, a white tank top, and hot red shorts.

In the issue, the 20 year old talks to Marshall Heyman about her bohemian fashion sense – hence all those maxi dress – her voice and her boyfriend Zac Efron.

On her parents never wanting her to become an actress: “All the rejection is tough and discouraging. It’s a dog eat dog world, and who would want to subject their girl to that world? But it was just something that I loved much.”

On High School Musical: “It served a major purpose in my life. It gave me a high-school experience – the opportunity to make those friends and have my first prom and graduation. It really was a blessing.”

Best Dressed Award
This is the impact I wanted Cameron Diaz to make, but instead that honour goes to Sienna Miller.

I love the sea green colour of her Swarovski-encrusted Twenty8Twelve Fall 2009 dress.

The length is perfect to show off her pins, and the shoulder pads are subtle enough not to draw any Balmain comparisons.

The Brit actress carried a silvery Chanel clutch, and wore pair gorgeous Nicholas Kirkwood gold heels, to complete this stunning look.

I Don’t Follow Red Carpet Rules Award
If we expected Kristen Stewart to wear a cute pink mini dress, with silver strappy sandals, we were wrong.

She hit the red carpet wearing a Yigal Azrouël Fall 2009 red and black dress, with a cross cross detail on the sheer yoke, and a wide black belt.

I can imagine her being wrestled into this dress, and her stylist compromising on the Converse sneakers, but she totally rocks this look.

Best Black Award
Leighton Meester took a risk at the Costume Institute Gala, which didn’t pay off for me, but this edgy cut-out Emilio De La Morena Spring 2009 dress totally works.

This interesting dress has peek-a-boo parts, sheer panels, folds, and cut-outs, which Blair Waldorf wouldn’t approve of, but totally love.

She completes her look with Brian Atwood Brie purple suede ankle boots.

Risk That Paid Off Award
Taraji P. Henson certain got into the spirit of this fun awards ceremony, wearing a black and white strapless printed Roberto Cavalli Spring 2009 bustier dress.

The part French maid, part Chinese porcelain inspired look is definitely daring, and with her fun-loving personality she totally pulls it off.

I love how she plays up the ruffled detail on the back of her skirt, and her punky spiky new ‘do.

Moving Out Of Her Comfort Zone Award
This Moschino Fall 2009 red and navy floral print sleeveless dress with a ruffled hem, seems a little out of Lauren Conrad’s comfort-zone, which I really appreciate.

It feels a bit dark and mysterious, which is complemented with dark red lips, and black strappy booties.

I only wish she had pulled her hair back, to show off the floral shoulder detail.

Best Use Of Colour Award
I love to see bold bright colours on the red carpet, which is why I love Vanessa Hudgens peach satin Max Azria dress.

The dress is very grown up, but she injects her youthful glow and enthusiasm, to make this a perfect red carpet look, which she pairs with Jimmy Choo shoes, and a Nancy Gonzalez bronze clutch.

I really glad she didn’t go full on boho, with a printed maxi dress, which we’ve seen many times from her.

Hate The Hair, Love The Dress Award
I love Megan Fox’s black and gold Dolce & Gabbana strapless brocade cocktail dress, which she had shorten. It really suits her dark, mysterious persona, plus it shows off her toned figure.

She wisely kept accessories to a minimum, and added a bit of spice via her Christian Louboutin Differa sandals.

The biggest downsides are her hair, overly orange glow.

Best Theme Award
At first I hated Ashley Greene’s hair, but then I realised how much it worked with what appears to be a 40s housewife theme.

The hair works with her alluringly form-fitting Dolce & Gabbana floral print dress, with a beautiful, yet subtle voluminous skirt.

A neon yellow clutch, and bold red lips, add a touch of bright colour.

The Kate Beckinsale “This Is Not The Oscars” Award
I was really surprised to see LeAnn Rimes wearing such a formal gown by J.Mendel to the MTV Movie Awards.

She looks beautiful, she really does, but she’s a little overdressed.

Most Vanilla Award
Miley Cyrus opted for a very soft look for this event. I would’ve expected something with a lot more attitude, but she looks lovely in her pale pink cowl neck Moschino Cheap & Chic dress, which had a ruffled detail, going down her back.

The only hint of the wild rock wannabee Miley, was via her rings and bracelets.

Best Re-Run Award
I love Ashley Tisdale’s purple leather Elise Øverland dress, and the accessories she picked really punch up the look, especially those lust worthy Paul & Joe Sister heels.

We’ve seen this look before on the red carpet, but as Ashley wears it so well, that all is forgiven.

Surprisingly Not Predictable Award
I would have expected 3 things from Audrina Patridge.

1. Something low cut
2. Her black Alexander McQueen Bow Clutch
3. Her Balmain studded heels.

She blows that out of the water wearing a loose fitting paillette covered Joey Tierny Couture dress, with a dove grey Alexander McQueen clutch, and cream Louboutin heels.

Nice Dress, Shame About The Shoes Award
Keke Palmer’s look was almost perfect. I really loved her coral embellished Elise Øverland dress. It’s young, it’s fun, it sparkles, and it summery, but those grey booties lose her many points.

Stand Out Award
Malin Akerman stood out the most, because she is the only one who opted for pants, wearing a crisp, white Dolce & Gabbana suit, with a pale blue corset.

Her hair was sleeked back to complete this sophisticated look, which she didn’t over accessorize.

Most Summery Award
Yes Paris Hilton needs a new clutch and shoe combo, but there’s no denying her vibrant vest for spring and summery colours.

I love her cute coral Jenny Packham Spring 2009 strapless mini, with its ruffled skirt, and gold embroidered bodice.

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun/Au Natural Award
Monique Coleman must have sensed when she looked in the mirror, that she would get ridiculed for her hair.  I admire her for ditching the extensions, and going au natural. I can’t see many others sporting this look.

Her Christian Louboutin Spartenvol Strass sandals complemented her silver and black spacey mini tutu dress, which you may all hate, but I will take this over a mini dress with tights any day.

She wanted to have fun at this event, and it shows.
