Red Carpet Fashion Awards

This WWIB post spans five years and seven celebs proving that an Alexander McQueen piece is truly timeless.

Sienna Miller was the first to wear this Alexander McQueen Spring 2008 draped dress back in October 2007 at the premiere of her film ‘Interview,’ during the BFI 51st London Film Festival.

As Sienna is known for her signature grungy look, I like how simple she keeps it here, with just a loose up-do and black pumps.

Simple was certainly not on Lucy Liu’s mind, however, as she wore the same dress in hot pink to a January 2008 taping of ‘The Late Show with David Letterman’ in New York City. The hot pink plus leather gloves and pointy toes shoes is just too much.

Just a month later, Katie Holmes wore the same dress in houndstooth at the First Annual Essence Black Women In Hollywood Luncheon in LA. Sporting a shag bob the actress paired her dress with eggplant peep-toes and an Alexander McQueen skull clutch.

Resident bombshell Amber Heard tried out the hot pink number at the ‘Never Back Down’ Hollywood premiere in March 2008. Her shoes let her down.

Socialite Tinsley Mortimer posed backstage at a February 2009 Max Azria fashion show, pairing her dress with black accessories, including a Chanel purse.

Actress Leelee Sobieski took the dress in a more unique route at the May 2011 MoMA & MoMA PS1 Celebratory dinner, by pairing the dress with a unique pair of black-and-white woven ankle boots.

Kate Beckinsale supported Eva Longoria’s foundation party in LA last month accessorizing with simple black peep-toes and a high pony.

Who do you think wore it best?

It’s a tough call with so many beautiful ladies and options to choose from, but I think I’d go with Katie Holmes, because I love the print and 2008 was such a chic year for her.

Tinsley Mortimer attended the 2011 Whitney Museum Of American Art Studio Party in New York City this week.

The socialite wore a gorgeous Versace Fall 2011 gown.

Her deep-blue one-shoulder gown with a full-feathered train is part sexy, part fun, part divalicious.

Strappy platform heels, a silver clutch and a black clutch completed her look.

A much smaller clutch would’ve been preferred.

Here are the rest of the looks from the New Yorkers For Children Spring Dinner Dance.

Rose McGowan: I love Rose, but I’ve seen this Dolce & Gabbana gown so many times in so many colours that I’m over it, despite it looking awesome on her. Her look is enhanced with a stunning Lorraine Schwartz necklace.

Tinsley Mortimer: I’m not sure what she was thinking, but that’s too much dress for someone so petite. Her modified Christian Dior Fall 2008 dress is overwhelming her.

If you’re anything like me your Atelier Versace quota was not fulfilled during Cannes Film Festival, so the sight of Tinsley Mortimer should put a smile on your face.

The socialite attended the 32nd Annual American Image Awards at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in New York City last night looking spectacular wearing an Atelier Versace Fall 2009 mini dress.

Her strapless white Atelier cocktail dress has a tiered skirt and a gorgeous white rose detail on the bodice.

Strappy silver sandals and a silver fringed Samantha Thavasa clutch of her own design completes the look.

I’m not so crazy about her hair style, but I love her in this dress.

At the Operation Smile Annual Gala in New York last night Tinsley Mortimer wore a asymmetrical Versace Spring 2010 mini dress.

I’m a big fan of Tinsley because she’s not afraid of being herself – a girlie girl.

The day I see her working an edgy “downtown” look on the red carpet I think I will faint. More importantly I think she would too.

Her printed dress was paired with a pink Versace Leather chain belt, a silver clutch, white gladiators and cute pink hooped earrings.

I love this Spring look. Boy isn’t her hair super shiny, but wish the clutch was a tad smaller.

Tinsley Mortimer joined Olivia Palermo on the red carpet at the “7th Annual New Yorkers for Children Spring Dinner Dance” held at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in New York last night.

When I see Tinsley wearing the same Christian Dior Spring 2010 floral dress which we’ve seen on Ginnifer Goodwin earlier this year, it only makes me appreciate Olivia’s efforts more.

Tinsley loves Dior and she loves her pink fringed Samantha Thavasa clutch of her own design.

There’s nothing new here apart from her Jimmy Choo Caeser heels.

As much as this girlie look is very much Tinsley’s trademark, the pepto bismol pink is too garish for this dress.

Lavender accessories would’ve been preferred.
