Tina Fey In Carmen Marc Valvo – 2017 Emmy Awards

It will likely come as no surprise that Tina Fey opted for her favoured colour of black at the 2017 Emmy Awards on Sunday (September 17) in LA.

But, this Carmen Marc Valvo design was no ordinary black gown. It featured all-over tonal sequins in a graphic tessellated pattern, imbuing the figure-skimming dress with modern magnetism.

Cartier jewels added another layer of shine.

Tina Fey In Sally LaPointe – 2017 Tony Awards

Tina Fey made a glamorous appearance at the 2017 Tony Awards on Sunday (June 11) in New York City.

Wearing a customized archive gown from Sally LaPointe, the host looked at home on the red carpet.

The feather details, which add a fringe effect to this black evening gown, feel a little heavy at the hem, however. Perhaps if this gown had been cinched at the waist and featured a flared hem, fishtail-style, the heavy feather details would have worked.

The actress’s jewels provided some relief from the all-black ensemble and she kept her hair on-trend with a wavy style.

Was this a red carpet hit or miss for Tina?

Planned Parenthood 100th Anniversary Gala

More stars joined Scarlett Johnansson at the Planned Parenthood 100th Anniversary Gala on Tuesday (May 2) in New York City.

America Ferrera: The actress was thinking pink in her custom Kate Spade New York blazer and black high-waisted trousers. The peek-a-boo bra added feminine allure to the tailored look, with a bespoke Edie Parker “PP 100” clutch honouring the occasion.

Halsey: Judging from the other looks at the event, Halsey went a bit too over-the-top with this sheer, embellished Jonathan Simkhai Pre-Fall 2017 gown. Its look-at-me quality wouldn’t have been out of place on the models at the Met Gala the night before.

Grace Gummer: All attention was on this Jacquemus Spring 2017 ruched blouse and its retro polka dots, as it was styled simply with menswear-inspired, cropped trousers and clear flats. Despite the intentionally long, puff sleeves, I do wish they had appeared better tailored.

‘Sisters’ New York Premiere

'Sisters' New York Premiere

Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph and Tina Fey attended the ‘Sisters’ New York Premiere at Ziegfeld Theater on Tuesday (December 8) in New York City.

Amy Poehler: Usually I’m not a fan of Amy’s red carpet looks, but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by this Tadashi Shoji Fall 2015 look. The look is chic and sexy with a touch of intrigue.

Maya Rudolph: The actress usually only wears Stella McCartney, so I’m thankful she discovered Peter Pilotto on this occasion. Highlighted with neon trims and sparking embellishment for a contemporary cool aesthetic, this is perhaps her best ever red carpet look.

Tina Fey: I was excited to see Tina step outside her safe LBD box for something more tantalizing from Oscar de la Renta; thanks to the exposed bustier and petal organza neckline of this Spring 2016 frock. Such a shame that it was perhaps a tad too small.

2015 Emmy Awards Red Carpet Roundup 2

2015 Emmy Awards Red Carpet Roundup 2

Here are a few more late additions the 2015 Emmy Awards, held on Sunday night (September 20) at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles, California.

Zoe Kazan: The young actress wore a Miu Miu red and white kaleidoscope stripe pleated gown enriched with a teardrop crystal neckline, which she styled with a Miu Miu red sandals and a Miu Miu cherry velvet clutch. This was one of my favourites on the night. Glamorous, yet fun with an air of free-spirit.

Tina Fey: The comedian’s looks can be hit and miss, but this Antonio Berardi Resort 2016 black gown with crystal embroidery made an elegant evening statement. One for her hall of fame.

Viola Davis: Serving up a big gown for her big win, the actress wore a gorgeous Carmen Marc Valvo gown. The bracelets were a tad OTT for me, but she makes them work.
