Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Most Androgynous Award
I loved that Tilda Swinton added a shirt to her Jil Sander Spring 2011 look to make her look formal for the 2011 Golden Globe Awards.

Whilst it shouldn’t work Tilda is the queen of androgyny, so she makes it work for her by keeping the look minimal yet still fashion forward.

No one else would get a pass with this look.

I love the pink pumps which you can see under her champagne skirt.

Finally, Lanvin That Actually Looks Good On The Red Carpet Award
Only Tilda Swinton can fearlessly and effectively pull off Lanvin.

We’ve seen so many people try and fail, but Tilda totally rocked this Lanvin Fall 2010 black dress on the red carpet at the 2011 Critics’ Choice Awards.

Her futuristic long-sleeved Lanvin was styled with slicked-back hair and pair of black ankle-strap sandals completes the look.

The pop of colour came from her green eyes.

Tilda Swinton towers over Rosanna Arquette at the “I Am Love” Reception hosted by Magnolia Pictures and Quentin Tarantino at Sunset Tower in West Hollywood yesterday.

It has been forever since we last saw the gazelle-like Tilda on the red carpet.

She opted to wear a black Haider Ackermann Spring 2010 ensemble with a twisted neckline and cold shoulders.

She modified the look slightly so the keyhole detail was on her shoulder.

Black satin pumps completed her look.

The fact that Tilda is in LA I’m hopeful that she may walk the red carpet at the Golden Globes.

Tilda Swinton attended the “Venus Noire” Premiere during the 2010 Venice Film Festival last night.

The British actress wore Lanvin teal draped gown with caped shoulder, contrast sash and a feather detail on her shoulder.

Her look included beige satin Lanvin pumps.

As much as this is a fantastic look for Tilda I feel like I’ve seen this style on her before.

I would like to see her return to her red carpet jaw dropping avant garde ways as her red carpet looks are starting to have a touch of de ja vu about them.

Tilda Swinton arrived was in New York this week to attend the premiere of her new movie, “I Am Love”.

The British actress is known for pleasing one person when it comes to red carpet dressing – herself.

Which is why she’s not afraid to wear this navy Fendi Fall 2010 turtleneck dress.

As always it’s a brave choice, but I’m not crazy about it.

What puts me off this look is the hemline.

I wish she had left it loose like on the runway instead of tightening it.

I also preferred the navy/nude pairing on the runway to Tilda’s all over navy look.

This is the second time we’re seeing Tilda Swinton wearing a look straight off the runway from the Jil Sander Fall 2010 collection.

Her first look we saw at the photocall for Io Sono L’Amore, and here she is again wearing a dress for the premiere in Milan.

The looks are similar, but the details are very different.

The photocall dress had slashed squares all over, whereas this dress has more subtle details.

Who needs accessories when you have that gorgeous flame coloured hair to make you stand out.

In “Io Sono L’Amore”, Tilda wears a red Jil Sander dress which is seen in various parts of the movie.

This silk crepe dress has been re-edited and is now exclusively available on Jil Sander’s online store.

The dress is one piece of the wardrobe for Tilda’s movie character ‘Emma’ which has been entirely created by Jil Sander.

I just love how Tilda transforms herself.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Tilda and Jil Sander are a beautiful combination.
