Ginnifer Goodwin in Tory Burch – 2013 Met Gala

GinniferGoodwinToryBurch

Ginnifer Goodwin is never one to shy away from expressing herself through fashion. And at Monday night’s Met Gala in New York City, the ‘Once Upon a Time’ actress hit the red carpet illustrating the event’s ‘PUNK: Chaos to Couture’ theme through her own eyes.

Shimmering in gold sequins thanks to Tory Burch, Ginnifer’s gown tamed the gilded glamour with a leather trim neckline and a black tulle hem.

The leather waistband whittled the actress’s waist to show off her figure while the rest of her look paid homage to the punk era.

Turning her normally cute pixie cut into a messy, bedhead style, Ginnifer focused on her eyes with a look that was 100% punk: heavy lash-to-brow black eye shadow and defined brows.

Ginnifer styled her red carpet look with heels and a box clutch also by Tory Burch and an ever so punk pewter earring in only one ear.

What do you think of her look: spot on, or too punk around the eyes?

Bee Shaffer In Christian Dior Couture – 2013 Met Gala

Bee Shaffer In Christian Dior Couture - 2013 Met Gala

Anna Wintour’s daughter Bee Shaffer rocked a white gown from Christian Dior’s Spring 2013 collection on the red carpet of the Met Gala.

The Vogue progeny looked stunning in her perfectly-fitted gown, but definitely took cues from her mother in looking more Spring than punk.

Her black nails are perhaps her nod to the night’s theme, and I absolutely love the contrast of the dark mani against the light-coloured dress.

Fred Leighton earrings and rings are the final accent to a lovely look.

Solange Knowles In Kenzo – 2013 Met Gala

SolangeKnowles

Big sister Beyonce is the honorary chair of the 2013 Met Gala tonight, but Solange Knowles still made sure to make her mark at New York’s Metropolitan Museum.

The songstress, who seemingly never fails to indulge us with her love of print, once again perked up the red carpet with this dizzyingly patterned dress by Kenzo matched with an Edie Parker box clutch.

If there’s one thing that can be said about this look, it definitely took punk to funk.

While fun, the semi-casual black-and-blue moment was a bit less dramatic than what I was expecting, even with the leg-baring slit sliced up the left side.

Standard black sandals were subdued, especially for Solange.

She did deliver the theatrics with her fabulous, signature ‘fro, which could quite possibly be the highest I’ve seen it.

Giant statement earrings, which reminded me of evil eyes, were bejewelled and big enough to banish any negative energy.

Emilia Clarke In Ralph Lauren – 2013 Met Gala

Emilia Clarke In Ralph Lauren - 2013 Met Gala

‘Game of Thrones’ star Emilia Clarke looked striking in Ralph Lauren on the red carpet of the Met Gala.

The sweetheart neckline and color of love dress fits the star beautifully, but it definitely feels more Valentine’s Day than punk.

Her side swept locks revealed her one punk accent for the night–Fred Leighton cross earrings.

I love seeing Emilia and her natural brunette hair (a far cry from her white blonde strands in ‘Game of Thrones’), and love this look, even though she did take a very subtle approach to the night’s theme.

Gwyneth Paltrow In Valentino Couture – 2013 Met Gala

Gwyneth Paltrow In Valentino Couture - 2013 Met Gala

There was not a stitch of punk within Gwyneth Paltrow’s look for the 2013 Met Gala, held in New York City on Monday; however she was pretty in pink.

I wasn’t expecting too many to embrace the punk theme, so I am not surprised to see the actress opt for this Valentino Couture gown which was custom made which she styled with Wilfredo Rosado earrings.

You will be delighted to see that her pink gown features a nude insert in the shoulders, and not down the side of her skirt on this occasion.

As much as I love this look, I wish it was more fitted around the waist — at present, Gwyneth looks wider at the waist than she usually looks. Plus, I wish some punk element had been added to her look even if it was a studded Valentino clutch or a McQueen skull clutch.

What do you think?
