Tess Daly In Max Mara - National Television Awards 2014

Tess Daly made a sartorial impact on the red carpet of the National Television Awards 2014 last night (January 22) held at the O2 in London.

The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ host opted for chic wide-leg jumpsuit with gold-trimmed waist belt by Max Mara.

With a black blazer coolly slung over her shoulders, this was a stand-out look that ticked all the right boxes for me.

Choosing a gold pair of Gianvito Rossi pumps and silver Wilber & Gussie clutch, Tess ensured her look had edge while ensuring the styling wasn’t overly complicated.  This is actually a look I can imagine a Hollywood A-lister sporting so bravo Tess, what a great look.

To finish, the former model opted for an orangey red lip and glossy waved hair to keep the look understated and luxurious.

Who Wore Emilio Pucci Better Kelly Rowland or Tess Daly

Back in January, Kelly Rowland wore an Emilio Pucci Fall 2012 dress featuring sheer slash inserts and a sexy side slit to the BET Honors.

Without a clutch or jewelry, her new curly do was the only accessory.

British TV presenter Tess Daly wore the same dress to the Pride of Britain Awards in October showcasing her wavy golden locks.

I wasn’t fond of Tess’ oversized clutch, but Kelly was in desperate need of some accessories. Tess’ gold-metallic pumps win the look for me.

2013 Pride of Britain Awards Red Carpet Roundup

Here is a roundup of the good, the bad and the ugly at the 2013 Pride of Britain Awards held at Grosvenor House in London yesterday evening. I will let you decide who belongs in which category.

Tess Daly: The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ host wore an Emilio Pucci Fall 2013 LBD featuring a sexy side slit, sheer sleeves and slash inserts. Possibly the first to get her footwear right on this red carpet, she added gold-metallic pumps to her look. I love her golden waves, but frown upon the suitcase-sized clutch she opted for. You may remember that Kelly Rowland wore this same dress back in January.

Katherine Jenkins: I was shocked to see Katherine not wearing a gown. Instead, she selected an eggplant Lanvin one-shoulder dress styled with conservative black pumps.

Sarah Harding: The former Girls Aloud singer sparkled in a gold short-sleeved gown featuring sheer embellished panels styled with a gold clutch and chic updo. I really liked the gown until the back revealed her ‘Don’t be Bitter. Glitter’ tattoo.

Tess Daly In Alexander McQueen - 'Strictly Come Dancing' Launch Party

Tess Daly attended the red carpet launch for ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ held at Elstree Studios in Borehamwood, England yesterday evening.

The host wore an Alexander McQueen Resort 2013 gown which illuminated her golden beauty with a gleaming gold-sequinned bodice with a colourful jewelled neckline.

Being so golden, the illusion panel at the sides and back of the dress was that much more visible.

Par for the course, some might say, on a show where illusion panels appear on every contestant’s dress and having a golden glow is mandatory. I would say it’s slightly jarring. Plus she should’ve considered wearing her hair up with this look.

You may remember that Naomi Watts wore the same gown to the People’s Choice Awards back in January and the panel wasn’t an issue as it was a closer match to her skin tone.

Even Christine Teigen, a woman of colour, didn’t have any issue with the illusion panel when she wore the same dress to the Vanity Fair party.

Tess Daley In Alberta Ferretti - British Academy Television Awards 2013

Tess Daley opted for quite a dramatic look on the red carpet for the British Academy Television Awards 2013 held at the Royal Festival Hall in London on Sunday.

So much so that I didn’t recognise the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ host in her Alberta Ferretti Fall 2013 black gown, with art deco beading on a sheer bodice and a black sweeping skirt with chiffon layers.

I love the glam Hollywood styling; however, the lining brings down the look for me.

I’m not saying that the gown shouldn’t have been lined; I just wish it was closer to her skin colour so as not to provide such a stark contrast. As presented, Tess’s gown has lost most of the runway allure.
