October 7th, 2009

Putting away her sexy corset dresses for the night, Kelly Brook wore a black Louis Vuitton Fall 2008 dress which had a peplum at the waist, and a panel of embellishments on the front of her dress.

Her dress was paired with Christian Dior Glam booties.

You may remember that Satsuki Mitchell wore this same dress to the “Defiance” London Premiere back in January this year.

I have several problems with Katherine Jenkins and her Jil Sander sculpted dress.

Firstly she would have looked amazing in the orange dress. So many people wore black on this red carpet, so she would have really stood out in orange.

The most important structured drape on one side of the dress looks really limp, therefore ruining the whole effect of the dress.

Lastly she folded the detail on the shoulder when it should have stood up like on the runway.

This is such a great dress, but she didn’t do it any justice. She might as well have just worn a pencil dress for all the love she is giving to this architectural masterpiece.

Katherine’s look was paired with YSL heels and a black clutch.

I would have been totally in love with Louise Redknapp in her Peter Pilotto digital print dress, had she not worn those ankle boots.

She’s not a particularly tall lady and those boots make her legs look really short.

Dannii Minougue is stunning as always wearing a leopard print strapless Lisa Ho Spring 2009 gown.

The Aussie continues to support designers from her home country both on the red carpet and on the X Factor.

Dannii co-X Factor judge Cheryl Cole also hit the red carpet.

I love the her hot-off-the-runway (2 days to be exact) one-shouldered Chapurin Spring 2010 LBD with the sheer corseted panel on the waist, but it still lacks the wow factor I usually get from Cheryl.

Maybe my expectations are too high, as her everyday style is so impeccable.

Kimberly Walsh of Girls Aloud to walk the red carpet at this event and she wore a cute asymmetrical LBD, with a large rosette detail on the shoulder.

This dress was not a runway dress, but I remember it from the Temperley London Fall 2009 presentation I attended in February were I took a picture of Kimberley exact dress.

Nicola Roberts attended the Vivienne Westwood Spring 2010 show this weekend in Paris.

Bizarrely she wore a Vivienne Westwood Gold Label Lily wedding gown, which is the shorter version of Carrie Bradshaw’s wedding gown.

Her pretty wedding dress was given an edgy as she carried a Alexander McQueen skull knuckle duster whipsnake clutch, and Christian Louboutin Candy Stud Pumps.

Alexandra Burke needs to fire both her make-up artist and her stylist, because on this evidence neither are doing her any justice.

Yes her gown is white, but that doesn’t mean she needs to colour co-ordinate her eye shadow.

Black pumps with a white gown?  Really?

REALLY?

I applaud Myleene Klass for wearing such a risqué dress on a cold and rainy night, but this LBD screams I want to be on the front page in the morning.

Her feathered clutch is adorable though.

Mr & Mrs Kay aka Tess Daly and Vernon Kay walked the red carpet together still looking every much the loved up couple.

He wore a midnight blue suit, whilst she looked gorgeous in a nude shimmering fitted dress with a ruffled bib.

Do shoes come in a colour other than black these days?  I wonder because they seem to be paired with everything on the red carpet.

Socialite Tara Palmer-Tomkinson looked very happy to be at this event.

The socialite paired a Azzedine Alaia dress with hot red Charlotte Olympia shoes.

Michelle Keegan kept warm from the damp weather by wearing her cute pink Lipsy London heart layer dress which has a bejewelled waistband, with a black blazer.

Abbey Clancy continues to prove that she doesn’t own a dress that doesn’t expose her underwear.

I’m loving that new hair cut on Kara Tointon.  It’s much more sophisticated that the chavy look she had on Eastenders.

The actress thankfully went against the LBD theme and wore a silver sequined fan print dress.  With black pumps of course.

Newlyweds Gary Linekar and Danielle Bux walked the red carpet together.

He looked dapper in a navy suit, whilst she look very sexy in a strapless Dolce & Gabbana dress paired with black sash around her waist.

Although Emma Bunton went with the LBD trend, she did add a gold sequined cape to make her look more interesting.

Lisa Snowdon might as well have worn a LBD as her nude Whistles Abstract sequin dress and those thick tights are not doing her any favours.

What happened to the red carpet sex kitten?

Yesterday the BBC announced the latest celebrities who will be competing for Alesha Dixon’s title as “Strictly Come Dancing” champion.

The list was very much a who’s who? As in who is that again?

The 16 ‘celebrities’ taking part in the ballroom dancing show are: ex-EastEnder Natalie Cassidy and current Eastenders star Ricky Groves, Footballer’s Wives stars Zoe Lucker and Laila Rouass, Ronnie Wood’s estranged wife Jo, Loose Women presenter Lynda Bellingham, cricketer Phil Tufnell, tennis player Martina Hengis, boxer Joe Calzaghe, BBC Breakfast presenter Chris Hollins, athlete Jade Johnson, former jockey Richard Dunwoody, Coronation Street star Craig Kelly, Crimewatch host Rav Wilding, The Bill actress Ali Bastian and Hollyoaks heart-throb Ricky Whittle.

I guess the whole point of the show is to reignite their careers to good luck to them.

In the promo picture for the show veteran TV host Bruce Forysth poses with co-presenter Tess Daly, who is wearing a dusky pink one-shouldered Alberta Ferretti Pre-Fall 2009 chiffon gown.

The mother of two looks stunning in the promo picture with flawless nude make-up, loose wavy hair and a gold cuff.

The popular BBC show returns to screens next month.

Thandie Newton gets another gold star this time for wearing this multi-coloured Matthew Williamson Resort 2010 dress.

Her look is almost a head-to-toe carbon copy of the runway look, but Thandie opted for a skinny gold studded belt instead of the wider runway belt, and she has a smaller bejeweled clutch.

Nude cut-away ankle boots complete this stunning look.

Best Dressed of the Week is going to be very crowded with Thandie and Emma’s looks.

Roisin Murphy finally does one of the silk voluminous shoulder pieces from the Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2009 collection justice.

I’m quite surprised her look is so close to the runway version, as she usually mixes things up a bit.

Her many accessories included bejeweled belt, gold necklace and large copper sequined bag which she carried as a clutch.

My only disappointment are those black patent heels.  Too stale for this kind of look.

Little Boots arrived wearing the same D&G silk brocade jacket with leggings, which Emma Watson wore in her editorial for Elle UK.

Little Boots is quiet daring with her style choices, so I’m surprised she didn’t copy the runway look.

After her disappointing looks at Haute Couture Fashion Week, Dasha Zhukova gets back to her stunning best wearing a cream Azzedine Alaia dress with a frou-frou skirt and a matching waist belt.

Her dress is gorgeous which she complements with a black and white print cropped jacket and Azzedine Alaia shell decorated heels.

After giving birth to her first child a few months ago Tess Daly has already snapped back to her perfect best.

The TV presenter showed off her stunning pins in this gold See by Chloé mini dress with a tiered bodice, which was folded in the skirt to add subtle volume.

Tess accessorized with some very sexy Jimmy Choo Billie Lizard-print sandals and mirrored clutch.

Meg Matthews continues to channel a very demure look. The wild rock chick seems to be a thing of the past.

Meg is wearing the black version of the same Antonio Berardi tweed crew neck dress she wore to the “Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince” UK Premiere.

Poppy Delevigne looks super sexy wearing a long sleeved black embellished mini dress with a pair of Topshop frill sandals.

Lily Collins has walked many red carpets, but I’m still yet to see her do anything noteworthy.

Phil Collins’ daughter is supposed to be an actress but I couldn’t name a single film or TV show she has been in.

Lily wore a lace Topshop lace bodycon dress with some Topshop black and gold sandals which very much look like Louis Vuitton Spicy sandals.

Gold jewelery and a black patent clutch completed the look.

Erin O’Connor wore a plunging jade-green Donna Karan Grecian style dress.

The shapeless dress should drown Erin’s slender frame, but the drapes and her elegant stature prevent that.

Natalie Imbruglia red gown is gorgeous but the Chanel black and white bag is so heavy it feels like a slap in the face.

A black clutch would have been much more subtle.

Olivia Palmero wore a champagne coloured dress with a dazzlingly Zara clutch, Topshop leather disc jacket, and Topshop velcro strapped heels.

Either these girls love Topshop as much as I do, or the retailer sponsored this event.

Ravashing In Red/Best Dressed Award
Patsy Kensit gives Louise Redknapp and Michelle Ryan a masterclass on how to wear a red gown.

The mermaid Dolce & Gabbana gown, with a pleated train, and floral corsage detail at the waist, was so exquisite that Patsy was Best Dressed at this event for me.

Best International Award - despite being born in the UK
Although Mischa Barton brought a touch of Hollywood to this UK awards do yesterday, she wore one of our London based designers.

Her floor-length long-sleeved gown was from the Osman Yousefzada Fall 2009 collection.

I love the gold turtle-neckline, but it would have been nice had she wore her hair back so we could have got the full effect of the detail.

Best Maternity Award
If I didn’t already know Tess Daly was pregnant, I would never have guessed.

Her 3.1 Phillip Lim ruffle-front shift dress, does a very good job of disguising her baby bump.

The radiant mum-to-be wore her dress with a black clutch, gold bangle, and tribal inspired Jimmy Choo Serena strappy sandals.

Best Use Of Accessories Award
Miranda Raison dove grey dress is gorgeous, but what I love about this look the most is the pink shimmering belt she paired with the dress. Without it, I think this dress would have looked so plain.

Best Embellishments Award
Hannah Murray grey tights work better with her Collette Dinnigan Fall 2008 silver dress with a feather detail on the skirt.

You may remember that Fearne Cotton wore this same dress to the National Television Awards last year.

On Trend Award
Liz McClarnon doesn’t usually do elegant, but that is how she presented herself yesterday in the colour of the season: nude.

Her asymmetrical gown, with pretty flower embellishment was definitely the right choice for her.

Best Use Of Colour Award
Davina Mccall wore a cobalt blue draped gown. I love the detail on the front, and how she didn’t over accessorize her look.

I love that she opted for a lilac clutch, instead of a predictable black clutch.

Sexy Back Award
The lace trend maybe over, but that didn’t stop Lisa Maxwell wearing this lace backless gown, with a bow detail on the front.

Summertime Floral Award
The way our British summer time is going; glorious sunshine yesterday, rain today. Lucy Benjamin did well to give her floral Matthew Williamson silk lamé dress an airing.

Lord knows when she’ll get to wear it again.

High Fashion Award
Jamie Winstone gave us some high-fashion wearing black Chanel Pre-Fall 2009 dress, with jeweled brooches, and strappy metallic sandals. Hot pink lips complete the look.

You’re Never Too Old To Be Fabulous Award
The grand dames of British Television were not to be out done by their younger counterparts.

Barbara Windsor and June Brown aka Peggy Mitchell and Dot Cotton from Eastenders, looked sensational. Barbara wore a black gown, with a sheer yoke, that tastefully shows off her cleavage.

For me June looks outstanding. First off, I LOVE her hair like this. Secondly her cream skirt suit with embellished jacket is sublime.

November 2nd, 2008

Yes Olga Kurylenko had a fantastic week promoting Quantum of Solace, but neither of us picked her for Best Dressed.

I believe this is because it was expected that Olga would look stunning all week considering she wore beautiful couture gowns, and it would have been too predictable to pick her.

What was not expected was how stunning Rachel Weisz would look in a hard to pull off RM by Roland Mouret black dress. But she did pull if off, with a huge amount of style and grace.

I did automatically want to pick Olga, but I kept being mesmerized by Tess Daly in her Temperley London dress.

The dress fits her like a glove. The detail on the tight fitting bodice is exquisite, and her blonde hair had plenty of volume.

Tess is a beautiful woman, but she totally blew me away in this dress. Those who live in the UK will agree that this is the best she has ever looked.

October 30th, 2008

The Bond premiere was not the only major event happening in London last night. We also had the 2008 National Television Awards.

Actress Amanda Holden is wearing an amazingly stunning peach Isabell Kristensen gown with a thigh-high split that Elizabeth Hurley would be proud of.

Her satin wrap gown, was embellished on the shoulders and with a star detail on the hip.

Definitely my favourite of the night.

X Factor judge Cheryl Cole arrived wearing an forest green Matthew Williamson ombré gown with gold embroidered detailing on the bodice.

Holly Willoughby, Beyonce would be so proud of your blinged out sequin Armani dress.

The TV presenter famed for embracing her delicious curves looks absolutely amazing in this strapless dress, although I don’t think she picked the right clutch to go with her dress.

At first I thought Fearne Cotton had a large feathered clutch, but then I realized that her sequined Collette Dinnigan Fall 2008 dress had a feathered skirt.

TV presenter Tess Daly looked exquisite with her big golden mane and her coral Temperely London Spring 2008 gown.

The dress has a very fitted bodice, but the skirt flows freely.

The look is complete with a thin gold belt, and a Jimmy Choo Kase oval clutch.

Nicollette Sheridan was not the only one to add a bit of Hollywood glamour to our National Television Awards, Paris Hilton was there too, wearing a silver mini dress, with a fringed hem.

Eastenders actress Lacey Turner turned on the glam wearing a silvery blue one-shouldered Stella McCartney Pre-Fall 2008 gown.

Coronation Street actress Helen Flanagan looked very grown up in her black halter gown with gold detailing.

TV presenter Kirsty Gallacher posed on the red carpet with her husband looking stunning - as always - wearing a Temperley London Mini kaleidoscope dress.

The berry bustier dress with tiered layered skirt, and sweetheart neckline, showed off her flirty side. She completed her look with black Jimmy Choo studded sandals.

Singer Alesha Dixon’s Julian Macdonald dress, had a bit of bling on the bodice, and lots of feathers on the skirt.

Her eye make-up was quite heavy, but it worked well with the dramatic nature of her dress.

Rachel Stevens wearing this Hervé Léger Ombre bandage dress is very predictable to me.

Although she looks good in it - minus the shoes - I would have been more impressed had she been more original. Even the Hollyoaks girls did not wear Herve Leger, and I expected them to.

The same applies to WAG/TV presenter Abigail Clancy.

I was about to say, ‘not another black dress’ for Denise van Outen, but then I saw how sexy the back was, then all was forgiven.

Eastenders actress Kara Tointon opted for a animal print gown.

TV presenter Myleene Klass also opted for British designer, wearing a Temperley London Mini Zola dress.

The cream dress has a lace paneled yoke and sleeves, with a contrast satin waistband with a bow on the front.

Dannii Minogue is not so golden in this gold halter-neck embroidered dress.

For me there is too much of the one colour. I bet even her shoes are gold.

The Hollyoaks cast were out in full force last night. First up Roxanne McKee. She wore a dramatic draped Alexander McQueen silk chiffon draped gown, but I was not crazy about her hair style.

Hollyoaks actress Sarah Dunn was magnificently elegant wearing a lime green satin Amanda Wakeley Fall 2008 gown, with black straps.

Hollyoaks star Carley Stenson matched her red rosette detailed dress, to her red toe nails.

Hollyoaks actress Emma Rigby wore a pink Matthew Williamson Spring 2008 ruffle dress.

Hollyoaks actress Gemma Merna wore a blue/black Amanda Wakeley Fall 2008 strapless gown.

I hope she had a lot of tit tape to hold that dress up.

Coronation Street actress Katherine Kelly sure does scrub up well. I almost did not recognise her in this gold sequined gown.

The same goes for Michelle Keegan. Amazing transformation, but her hair is very Catherine Zeta Jones.
