Louis Vuitton @ 2018 Met Gala

There were numerous ladies decked out in Louis Vuitton at the Heavenly Bodies: Fashion & The Catholic Imagination Costume Institute Gala on Monday (May 7) in New York City, joining Emma Stone.

Alicia Vikander: Sharp, sleek and modern spring to mind when gazing at the Swedish actress’s ensemble. The two-tone colour palette speaks to the theme, but it has been reimagined in a way that’s very representative of the designer.

Laura Harrier: Showing off her gorgeous gams, she was one of the few who opted for a short silhouette this evening. It’s a flirty look, but doesn’t express the theme or grandeur of the event.

Sienna Miller: The British beauty captured the angelic allure that was popular at the gala, but presented it with more structure than many. The chunky chains add a weighty edge against the sequined fabric and whimsical headpiece.

Blake Lively In Atelier Versace – 2018 Met Gala

Blake Lively was another beauty in Atelier Versace at the 2018 Met Gala on Monday (May 7) in New York City—and she left me 100-percent awestruck.

For her, haute holiness meant Renaissance-inspired regality with this jewel-encrusted corset bodice that cascaded into an impossibly long, embroidered train.

I love how the sheer elements of the dress added a modern sultriness to the ornate masterpiece.

Lorraine Schwartz jewels including a diamond halo only contributed to the elaborate radiance of this mesmerizing look.

Katy Perry In Atelier Versace – 2018 Met Gala

There were two thoughts that immediately occurred to me upon seeing Katy Perry alight at the 2018 Met Gala on Monday (May 7) in New York City.

1. Touched by an angel took on all new meaning, as her Atelier Versace gold chainmail-inspired mini styled with theatrical, angelic wings quite literally took into account the ‘Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination’ theme.

2. Victoria’s Secret called, and they want their Angel wings back.

Naturally, the over-the-knee boots came out to play, too.

Zendaya Coleman In Atelier Versace – 2018 Met Gala

Zendaya Coleman not only paid homage to 2018 Met Gala co-host Donatella Versace on Monday (May 7) in New York City, I think she was also paying tribute to Joan of Arc.

Literally armored in an Atelier Versace silver gown, the young stunner easily turned heads and had me in awe with her commanding presence.

Wearing the look from head to toe, she completed it with a cropped wig for another layer of edginess.

Who knew chain mail could at once show such strength and such effortlessness.

Last year, her look ranked high on the charts for the top Met Gala looks. Does this one continue in that same form for you?

Kim Kardashian In Atelier Versace – 2018 Met Gala

I have to give it to Kim Kardashian for a truly jaw-dropping moment at the 2018 Met Gala on Monday (May 7) in New York City.

This liquid-gold Atelier Versace chainmail gown would have not have only made co-host Donatella Versace proud, but also would have made King Midas blush.

I love the smart, subtle reference of the embellished crosses on the figure-flattering confection to highlight the theme, with the cross motif also echoed in her double necklaces.

A Cleopatra beauty look completed this sartorial gold standard.

Shailene Woodley In Ralph Lauren Collection – 2018 Met Gala

Shailene Woodley went for a short silhouette at the 2018 Met Gala on Monday evening (May 7) in New York City.

Clad in custom Ralph Lauren Collection, she deviated from the popular gossamer styles of the evening with a metallic top and skirt. With the stud detailing, it has an armor-like quality which is juxtaposed against the softness of the frilled cuffs.

When combined with the over-the-knee boots and her sleek ponytail, I’m sure many will be getting a futuristic sentiment from the style. It could have actually worked at the Manus x Machina 2016 Met Gala.
