Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Taylor Swift got an up-close look at the Elie Saab Spring 2013 collection from her front-row seat during Paris Fashion Week yesterday afternoon in France.

She wore a pretty baby-blue Elie Saab Pre-Fall 2012 dress with short sleeves and a pleated skirt.

A matching light blue Elie Saab clutch accessorised her look with tan open-toe sandals.

After favouring sleek, straight locks for a while, she opted for a wavy look on this occasion.

While the dress is mature and sophisticated, Taylor still manages to look her age.

I just love that red lip.

Country singer Taylor Swift sparkles on the cover of the November 2012 issue for Glamour US wearing a Burberry London tank, Dior skirt and belt and a Tiffany & Co. diamond bracelet.

The rest of her editorial, which was shot by Ellen von Unwerth, sees her wearing Jill Stuart, Marc Jacobs and Erin by Erin Fetherston.

With her new album ‘Red’ in stores October 22nd, a huge tour expected in 2013, plus a lot of tabloid attention surrounding her recent romance with Conor Kennedy, Taylor is firmly in the spotlight.

In the magazine, which hits newsstands nationwide on October 9th, she opens up about her career, her friends, and her own latest “love story”.

Here are some extracts from her Glamour US interview.

On the importance of having girlfriends: “They are so important in my life right now. I’m the kind of girl who needs to tell her friends everything. I’ve developed this really close-knit group of girls. Two of my close friends are bandmates.”

On her friendship with Emma Stone and Selena Gomez: “I met Emma when I was 17, and I met Selena when I was 18. So they’ve experienced all of this with me, and they’ve also experienced their own amazing success, and somehow through all of it, we’ve stayed close.”

On being misunderstood: “I think some people think it’s just apple pie and sunshine and sprinkles and ponies. Which is just funny. But I never feel the need to go out and make some grand statement that I’m dark and twisty and complicated, because I’m not that either. It’s just not as simple as ponies and rainbows, though I do love ponies and rainbows.”

On if she is wary of people using her for her fame and money: I think you can tell who’s a good person to be around, who makes you laugh, who’s fun, whom you can trust. And, yes, you’re going to get burned a few times, but I’d really rather get burned a few times than sit alone in that house with the curtains drawn. So God forbid this person you’re hanging out with gets a bit of validation out of the fact you’re famous. Is that the worst-case scenario? You know, it doesn’t seem that bad.

Taylor Swift joined Nina Dobrev, Kat Graham and Christian Milian on the red carpet for the 2012 iHeartRadio Music Festival, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Saturday in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The singer wore a rich red French Connection ‘Fast Iris’ lace dress.

Her sparkle-free ¾ length sleeve dress with a black lining was styled with nude peep-toes.

I love her wavy golden retro waves and that scarlet lip colour which matched her dress.

Sultry cat-eyes completed her look.

Taylor Swift continued to surprise us on the red carpet at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards on Thursday evening.

There was a time when you could easily predict Taylor’s look, but it appears she has kicked her embellishment fetish for good, wearing a J. Mendel silk crepe suit.

Her ivory suit featured a tuxedo jacket with pin-tucked pants and a white ruffled V-neck top.

Taylor’s slick monochromatic, menswear-inspired look was styled with metallic gold Tom Ford sandals and Lorraine Schwartz jewels.

This rich red lip colour works for me on this occasion, as do her sleek straight locks and kohl-rimmed eyes.

I can’t find a single fault with this look. Can you?

Taylor Swift also attended the 2012 Teen Choice Awards in Universal City, California, on Sunday evening.

The singer seems to have moved on from her ‘sequins and sparkles’ phase and fully committed to the ‘neutrals only’ phase we’re seeing now.

For the summer-centric awards show, Taylor chose a cream Maria Lucia Hohan dress.

The delicate silk mousseline cocktail dress reveals an interesting low back with illusion detailing – just a shame about the visible adjoining detail.

Pale pink Prada slingbacks, an Edie Parker ‘Lara’ nude pearlescent clutch with ice ends, diamond-and-rose quartz earrings, plus a diamond bracelet from Lorraine Schwartz complete the head-to-toe neutral look.

Her wavy lock were styled into a chic chignon with a beautiful brooch detail.

Are you crying out for a pop of colour or statement piece to liven up this look or do you love this look as it is?

Taylor Swift was sticking to taking to the red carpet sans sparkle when she arrived at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards held at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Sunday night.

She looked beautiful wearing an Elie Saab Pre-Fall 2012 gown choosing not to accentuate the split.

Her red chiffon sleeveless gown with a lace bodice was so very elegant.

Billboard’s ‘Woman of the Year’ added Neil Lane jewels and Elie Saab shoes accessorized her look.

Her trademark curls appear to be no more as she once again sported sleek, straight tresses.

A natural pink lip colour completed her look.

Do you like Taylor’s new direction, or are you missing the sparkle?
