Peter Pilotto For Target Launch

The Peter Pilotto for Target launch event took place in New York City on Thursday (February 6). Having seen the collection up close myself at a dinner party hosted by Net-A-Porter.com (who will be carrying the entire line) in London last week, I was excited to see some of our favourite stars wearing the pieces.

As you would expect, all the pieces feature prints, which is very much the design duo’s signature.

Diane Kruger: The German actress worked a lace-sleeve printed blouse and step-hem skirt striped-and-floral-print ensemble with great aplomb. Having seen Diane master this look, which she styled with a Charlotte Olympia clutch and black ankle-strap pumps, I will be adding these two pieces to my collection of Peter Pilotto for Target pieces I already own.

Taylor Schilling: The blonde actress is wearing the same Peter Pilotto for Target lace-sleeve dual-floral-print dress that I own. You won’t be surprised to learn that I will not be styling mine with black pumps.

Nail Trend Spotting 2014 Golden Globes Moody Darks

Dark polishes made their appearance during the 2014 Golden Globe Awards. And with manicures getting more and more coverage (hello, mani cams), nails are becoming a trend all on their own.

Taylor Schilling donned Essie’s Berry Naughty, a beautiful oxblood shade. Celebrity manicurist, Beth Fricke, wanted a color that would look gorgeous against her dark, kelly-green gown.

Celebrity manicurist Christina Aviles decided on a deep red to stand out against Jessica Chastain’s dark dress. Essie’s Poor Li’l Rich Girl was the perfect shade to complement.

Michelle Saunders, celebrity manicurist for Kate Beckinsale, went with what she thought was a bold choice for the red carpet. “But she pulled it off flawlessly,” says Michelle. The colour?

Essie’s Licorice, which gave off the effect of patent leather–the perfect addition to her metallic gown.

Have you been sporting the dark nail trend? If not, you’ve still a few weeks left before lights and pastels start making their rounds for spring.

Taylor-Schilling

Taylor Schilling was a vision in green as she made her way down the red carpet of the 2014 Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles this evening (January 12).

The ‘Orange is the New Black’ star wore a custom Thakoon gown with art deco-inspired draping and lace applique detailing. Stuart Weitzman shoes, a Swarovski crystal ‘Kiosque’ clutch and diamond jewels completed the look.

This look is the perfect relaxed-but-chic ensemble, and Taylor’s bouncy curls and smokey eye makeup compliment it perfectly.

There’s definitely going to be talk about this one tomorrow. I think it’s safe to say green is officially having a moment.

Taylor Schilling In Thakoon - CFDA Vogue 2013 Fashion Fund Finalists

Taylor Schilling attended the CFDA and Vogue 2013 Fashion Fund Finalists celebration held at Spring Studios in New York City yesterday evening.

Like fellow guest Christina Ricci, the ‘Orange Is the New Black’ actress wore a Thakoon design for the occasion.

Her head-to-toe Spring 2014 look consisted of a black camisole top, complete with a sheer lace inset across the front, navy blue trousers, pearl-strap clutch bag, and embellished peep-toe shoes. While this outfit doesn’t strike me as the most exciting combination, it doesn’t quite do it for me as a chic tailored-trouser look either. Although, I have a feeling many of you might disagree.

To finish, Taylor accessorized with little more than a dramatic smoky eye and slicked-back hair.

Taylor Schilling In Zuhair Murad - The Hollywood Reporter’s Next Gen 20th Anniversary GalaTaylor Schilling was also at The Hollywood Reporter’s Next Gen 20th Anniversary Gala, hosted yesterday at the Hammer Museum in Westwood, California, where Bella Thorne and Alyssa Milano were also spotted in the mix.

The ‘Orange is the New Black’ star may have been in an LBD from the Zuhair Murad Resort 2014 collection. But this black frock was far from standard issue, with its body-con silhouette and nude illusion netted detail at the side and back.

A few metallic, geometric cocktail rings and matching ear-cuff-inspired earrings contributed more modern edge, with a small black Edie Parker ‘Jean’ box clutch and strappy Narciso Rodriguez sandals providing the final touches of refined simplicity.

A sleek side updo and fuchsia-berry lip only increased the whispered—rather than shouted—sultriness of the look.

Fashion Star 1

A collection of other haute guests joined Miley Cyrus and Alexa Chung at the 30th Annual Night of Stars, presented by Fashion Group International, held yesterday at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City. Here, a look at their statement-making entrances.

Zoe Kravitz: The starlet assured us that the cropped top trend is still alive and kicking with an Alexander Wang ensemble featuring a reptilian-embossed bralette and high-waisted long skirt. With such a strong, skin-baring moment, I would have preferred to see slightly more understated styling, rather than her braided updo and supremely smokey eye.

Joan Smalls: The model posed in a plunging Alexander Wang tuxedo halter jumpsuit that balanced a carefree and come-hither attitude with its daring lines, yet sporty dropped waist and pockets. She topped it off with wavy ponytail and and a pair of metallic-laced cage sandals.

Taylor Schilling: Working a Zuhair Murad white frock, embellished with black stencil flowers, the ‘Orange is the New Black’ star stayed far away from her character’s colours. She did add a punch via a forest-green Vince Camuto clutch and a magenta lip, finishing the ensemble with Nancy Newberg jewels and Kurt Geiger ankle-strap sandals.
