Weekend Red Carpet Roundup

weekend roundup

The weekend brought with it a garden variety of ensembles from Los Angeles to London, and more. Here, a glance at the looks and the starlets who wore them.

Emma Roberts: Joining Diane Kruger and Freida Pinto, the actress was at the 8th annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic at Liberty State Park on Saturday (May 30) in Jersey City, New Jersey. She styled her sunny yellow Christine Alcalay Spring 2015 dress with Michael Kors Benji straw wedge sandals, an M2malletier Mini Amor Fati leopard pony bag, and Preen by Thornton Bregazzi Chantilly sunglasses, all topped off with a braided ’do.

Elsa Pataky: Elsa was the picture of girly charm, as she joined Emily Blunt at the Audi Polo Challenge at Coworth Park on Sunday (May 31) in London, England. Her rose-printed Ulyana Sergeenko demi couture dress was adorable yet I would have loved to see it without the pink sweater. Casadei nude suede pumps assured her legs went on for days, with a Paula Cademartori clutch finishing the look.

Sophia Bush: The actress was at Glamour USA’s June ‘Success’ Issue dinner party at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, California on Friday (May 29). While her Vivienne Westwood Fall 2015 dress, worn with a Rauwolf clutch and Giuseppe Zanotti sandals, was rather elaborate with its heavy print and silhouette, she ensured the look stayed fresh with her hair and makeup on the barely-there side.

Sophia Bush In Jill Stuart & Monique Lhuillier – 2015 NBC Upfront Presentation Red Carpet Event & Party

Sophia Bush In Jill Stuart & Monique Lhuillier - 2015 NBC Upfront Presentation Red Carpet Event & Party

Sophia Bush had a busy day at the 2015 NBC Upfront Presentation where she promoted her show ‘Chicago PD’ at Radio City Music Hall on Monday (May 11) in New York City, before attending the Entertainment Weekly and PEOPLE celebration of The New York Upfronts held at The Highline Hotel in the evening.

2015 NBC Upfront Presentation: I love how the ruffles on her Jill Stuart dress elevates its femininity, while the belt toughens up the look giving it more character. She effortlessly styled her frock with Nicholas Kirkwood ‘Savara’ sandals and an Edie Parker clutch.

Entertainment Weekly And PEOPLE Celebrate The New York Upfronts: The actress excelled once again wearing her favourite designer: Monique Lhuillier. On this occasion I am totally captivated by the mystic surrounding this part-dainty, part-alluring plum floral camo jacquard and guipure lace cap sleeve Fall 2015 dress. I would only remove the ear climber on this occasion as the Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudist’ sandals and Edie Parker clutch were perfectly in sync with her look.

I love how Sophia stayed true to her girly style for both looks. She rarely gets it wrong, which is why she continues to be one of my favourites.

Sophia Bush In Monique Lhuillier – 2015 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner

101st Annual White House Correspondents' Association Dinner - Inside Arrivals

Sophia Bush looked poised on the red carpet of the 2015 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner last night (April 25) at the Washington Hilton in Washington, DC.

The fashion-loving actress wore a teal Monique Lhuillier gown from the Fall 2015 collection with a Edie Parker multi-colour glitter ‘Minnie clutch and dramatic diamond and ruby jewels.

The draping on this gown is flawless, and the lines offer a modern take on the classic Grecian concept.

Flawless and radiant skin, a simple chignon and lips the same shade of deep pink as her jewels complete the look.

I really love how simultaneously fun and elegant this look is on Sophia. By choosing the colored gem-stones to pop against the stunning shade of the gown, she’s keeping the style exuberant without leaving the realm of sophistication needed at such an affair.

Sophia Bush In Reformation, Zimmerman & Elizabeth and James – Extra, Jimmy Fallon & Samsung Event

Sophia Bush In Reformation, Zimmerman & Elizabeth and James - Extra, Jimmy Fallon & Samsung Event

One day. Three outfits. At least for Sophia Bush, who on Tuesday (April 7) stepped out in a trio of looks, making a wardrobe change at every turn for her series of chic appearances in New York City.

‘Extra’: First up, the ‘Chicago P.D.’ actress was at Extra’s New York studios at H&M in Times Square, where she worked the micro-floral trend in a breezy Reformation dress that boasted a perfect plunge neckline—not too high, not too low. Strappy, black Stuart Weitzman lace-up sandals put a sultry spin on this frock, which she also completed with Kikos Koulis jewelry. I loved the spirited pop of her magenta lip.

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon: For her chit-chat with the ‘Tonight Show’ host, she switched into a flirty little Zimmerman metallic frock, keeping the shine factor going with her silver Jimmy Choo shoes.

Samsung Launches the Galaxy S 6 and Galaxy S 6 edge: Notching up the drama, Sophia rocked a sexy, mannish look that mixed the tuxedo-inspired lines of an Elizabeth and James blazer with the label’s sheer, netted skirt, accessorized by a Rauwolf clutch and Kikos Koulis jewelry. Galactic silver Casadei pumps were rather appropriate for the Galaxy event, and worlds better than a standard black pair. A slicked-back ’do and oxblood lip completed the sleek, subtly vampy appeal of the look.

Which look caught your eye?

Sophia Bush In Vivienne Westwood – 2015 SAG Awards

Sophia Bush In Vivienne Westwood - 2015 SAG Awards

Sophia Bush attended the 2015 SAG Awards held on Sunday evening (January 25) at The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California.

The ‘Chicago PD’ actress wore a red, corseted Vivienne Westwood dress with an Edie Parker clutch and Irene Neuwirth jewelry.

Sophia’s whole look isn’t working, which is disappointing following a show stopping appearance at Entertainment Weekly’s event last night honouring SAG Awards nominees. The shape of the bodice makes her look oddly proportioned, the skirt isn’t falling quite right, the jewelry is inappropriately casual, and the bag and shoes don’t match at all.

The hair and make-up are to die for at least so, from the neck up, two thumbs up.
