Solange Knowles In Barbara Casasola – Kiehl’s Pioneers by Nature Program Launch

Solange Knowles In Barbara Casasola - Kiehl's Pioneers by Nature Program Launch

Solange Knowles attended and acted as DJ at the Kiehl’s Pioneers by Nature program launch, hosted at the Kiehl’s Regent Street store in London, England on Friday (July 9).

In the spirit of relaxed glamour, she wore a Barbara Casasola Spring 2015 sunset-hued dress with an eye-catching metallic plissé skirt.

She styled the look with Tom Ford chartreuse sandals and jewels by Annalise Michelson and Monica Vinader.

The colour of the shoes was an interesting counterpoint, but where she really lost me was her makeup. I wish she had matched her shoes to her dress instead of her intense metallic-orange eye shadow.

Solange Knowles In Tome – Kiehl’s x Solange Partnership Launch Breakfast

Solange Knowles In Tome - Kiehl's x Solange Partnership Launch Breakfast

Solange Knowles joined Kiehl’s CEO Chris Salgardo and DonorsChoose.org founder Charles Best, to launch the Kiehl’s x Solange partnership on Friday (June 26) in New York City.

The singer joined the likes of Sarah Jessica Parker, Amal Clooney and Amber Heard in showing love for Tome Spring 2015 collection.

Solange made the look her own, only taking the striped asymmetrical wrap from the runway look.

While some will liken this piece to an African toto wrap sans baby, I kinda like the cool spin the additional piece gives to her basic separates.

Cool-blue Jimmy Choo ‘Ari’ pumps and an pink Edie Parker clutch completed her look.

There hasn’t been much love for Solange’s looks of late, so how does this one fare?

Solange Knowles In Harbison – NYC Pride and Kiehl’s Since 1851 Celebrate Pride Week 2015

Solange Knowles In Harbison - NYC Pride and Kiehl's Since 1851 Celebrate Pride Week 2015

Solange Knowles attended the NYC Pride and Kiehl’s Since 1851 Celebrate Pride Week 2015 event on Wednesday (June 25) in New York City.

As you know I am a huge fan of Solange’s style, but even I had to give this tan and yellow Harbison Fall 2013 suit a confused “eh?” in reaction.

While Solange’s outfit is an improvement from the look book image, the dual-colour and overall style isn’t working for me as it doesn’t really flatter in any positive way, shape, or form.

Factor is the need for blot powder and the awkward white pumps and this is a very rare no from me.

Solange Knowles In Maticevski – Moet Nectar Imperial Rose x Marcelo Burlon Launch Event

Solange Knowles In Maticevski - Moet Nectar Imperial Rose x Marcelo Burlon Launch Event

Solange Knowles attended the Moet Nectar Imperial Rose x Marcelo Burlon launch event on Wednesday (June 3) in New York City.

The singer appears to have put her print-loving days behind her, preferring the architectural elegance of Stéphane Rolland and now Toni Maticevski.

Defined by cut-outs, asymmetrical cuts, a part-peplum and a contrasting draped detail, I’m sure many will claim that there is too much going on.

I don’t agree with that sentiment. I see this look as edgy, sleek and modern.

The red carpet needs more looks that stand up to be noticed like this one.

Solange Knowles In Marios Schwab – Veuve Clicquot Rich Launch

Solange Knowles In Marios Schwab - Veuve Clicquot Rich Launch

Solange Knowles hosted the Veuve Clicquot RICH Launch event at Café Royal in London, England on Wednesday (May 27).

Continuing to show her love affair with a good cape, the singer wore a Marios Schwab Fall 2014 asymmetrical dress.

Yet again proving that she need not bright colour nor print to make an impact, she cut a quietly subtle yet powerful profile in this minimalistic look, emboldened by Aquazzura white ‘Wild Thing’ sandals that echoed the feathered detailing at the hem.

This sleek, sophisticated aesthetic reminded me of another recent look she wore just as successfully at the ‘Bessie’ premiere.
