Red Carpet Fashion Awards

I know many of you are huge fans of Sofia Coppola, and for the first time I was really excited to see her on the red carpet.

The actress/designer/director attended the Miss Golden Globes Party hosted by InStyle and the Hollywood Foreign Press Association at Cecconi’s Restaurant in LA last night not wearing her favourite colour – black.

She looked effortlessly beautiful wearing a Valentino Spring 2011 dress.

This is how you elegantly wear a Spring 2011 look in winter. No tights and definitely no thick black tops.

Her lighter than air ivory long-sleeved Valentino dress with a ruffled skirt was paired with the runway tan heels.

Sofia Coppola was just one of the many attendees to wear Louis Vuitton on the red carpet for the “Somewhere” LA Premiere last night.

Having very close ties with the brand, she of course wore a custom look. She dazzled wearing a black sequin LV dress which she paired with LV wedges and a Louis Vuitton Sofia Coppola clutch.

The rest of the stars gave us the first glimpse of the Louis Vuitton Spring 2011 collection on the red carpet.

New girl on the block Jessica Chastain, opted to wear a very sexy Louis Vuitton Spring 2011 dress with a plunging neckline and floral print design on the hem of her skirt.

Green Brian Atwood pumps and a colouful LV Spring 2011 clutch completed her look.

Australian actress Isabel Lucas wore a black lace Louis Vuitton top and a long violet skirt which she teamed with same black sandals the model wore on the runway.

Erin Wasson of course picked the look that many wouldn’t be brave enough to wear.

On many this would look ridiculous, but on I love this look on her. She looks so damn cool and at ease in her printed jumpsuit.

Sofia Coppola’s new movie “Somewhere,” won the top Golden Lion prize at the 2010 Venice Film Festival on Saturday.

The Director is known for her understated minimalist style, so I was surprised to see her wearing such a striking floral print Louis Vuitton Resort 2011 dress.

Her belted blue and green dress with a sweetheart neckline and puffy skirt was paired with black LV wedges and a black LV clutch.

I wish she’d gone just one step further with this dramatic change and done something different with her hair.

Sofia Coppola goes from wearing Louis Vuitton to the “Somewhere” Premiere, to Marc Jacobs for the “Bulgari And W Magazine Party” to celebrate the 2010 Venice Film Festival.

Both are of course designed by her pal Marc Jacobs.

Her long sleeved Resort 2011 dress has a striped embellished bib which would sparkle in the moonlight of this outdoor event.

With minimal make-up and tousled hair, Sofia completes her look with simple black accessories complete her look.

Sofia Coppola was the Director for “Somewhere”, which had its premiere during the 2010 Venice Film Festival on Friday night.

I wasn’t surprised to see the Director and Louis Vuitton bag designer wearing a Louis Vuitton Resort 2011 dress.

I also wasn’t surprised to see her wearing a modified black version of the lemon dress which was presented.

The black dress is more her style and more appropriate for a Director who doesn’t want to steal the limelight from the stars of the movie.

I love her understated textured dress and the chic accessories paired with it.

She made the perfect choice.
