Front Row @ Valentino Fall 2017 Couture

Valentino closed Fall 2017 Couture Week in Paris on Wednesday (July 6), with the balmy evening leading attendees to opt for flowy gowns.

Laetitia Casta: Following her Vogue Paris Foundation dinner unimpressive look, the model turned things around in this feminine Valentino Fall 2017 halter number.

Brie Larson: Taking in her second show of the week, Brie’s Valentino Resort 2018 gown felt very similar to her first in that it makes a dark, whimsy statement; this time without any heavy jewels.

Sofia Coppola: The directors red carpet M.O. has always comfort and easy wearability; two things this simple green Valentino Resort 2018 dress possesses. I like how her accessories, mostly the necklace, prevents look this from feeling too causal for the event.

Front Row @ Chanel Fall 2017 Couture

The front row of the Chanel Haute Couture Fall 2017 show at the Grand Palais on Tuesday (July 4) was especially star-studded this Paris Fashion Week season with so many stylish notables in attendance—and dressed in their Chanel best, naturally.

Kristen Stewart: I never imagined a cropped, sequin jumpsuit could look so relevant. But, I credit its seamless appeal to the minimal styling surrounding as Kristen makes it work with her sheer lack of accessories save for her classic black pumps and, of course, that edgy platinum buzz cut.

Pom Klementieff: The quintessential cool girl, Pom never ceases to impress with her inspired, impossibly chic style. My obsession continues with this look that provided an unexpected twist on classic Chanel tweed with this reverse jacket—with lapels cut low in the back—paired with black, cutoff denim and metallic heels. From the classic buttons, to the rebellious fray of the pant hem, to the singular sunny spark radiating from the quilted handbag, it’s the details here that make all the difference.

Cara Delevingne: Rounding out this trio of icy blondes, Cara also was on top form in her particular brand of edginess that actually didn’t involve a leggy mini this time out. Still, those slouchy, metallic trousers made her pins look a mile long. She rounded out her style warrior look with a Chanel choker and arm cuff along with a flirty, hot pink eye shadow that put plenty of pretty spunk into the look.

Sofia Coppola In Christian Dior & Sacai – ‘The Beguiled’ Munich Film Festival Premiere and London Screening

Sofia Coppola has been busy promoting the fruits of her labour over the last few days. The director first attended the Munich Film Festival premiere of her new movie ‘The Beguiled’ on Monday (June 26), followed by the London screening the next day.

Munich Film Festival Premiere: Donning a Christian Dior Resort 2018 dress, Sofia looked ready for a summer vacation. I love the midi-length silhouette and the ethereal feel which the sheer sleeves and pretty embroidery evoke. Sofia opted for a more covered up alternative to the runway’s look, sensibly opting for a light strappy sandal.

London Screening: Another day and another midi-length dress paired with black strappy sandals. Staying true to form Sofia once again opted for a loose dress; this time deep blues and moody greens replaced the white. I particularly love the collar on this Sacai Pre-Fall 2017 dress which adds a formal edge. Playing with textures and colours works well here.

‘The Beguiled’ LA Premiere Red Carpet Roundup

More stars took to the red carpet for ‘The Beguiled’ LA premiere on Monday (June 12), joining Nicole Kidman, Elle Fanning, and Kirsten Dunst.

Emma Howard: Self-Portrait’s signature lace was put to work in this one-shoulder, cutout dress from the Fall 2017 collection. My biggest issue here was with her eggplant-hued platform sandals, as they completely compromised any allure of the frock.

Sofia Coppola: While this Valentino Pre-Fall 2017 dress was very much in keeping with Sofia’s no-nonsense, effortless-chic aesthetic—as well as her favouritism for the colour black—I love the delicate femininity afforded by the pink floral print with her makeup echoing that boho-romantic spirit.

Courtney Love: Silk-satin dresses can be tricky to wear, and unfortunately this Roksanda Zenku Spring 2017 open-back design fails to flatter, between the droopy sleeves and the dropped waistline. The heavy-handed makeup and equally intense shoes don’t help matters here at all.

Chanel Fall 2017 Front Row

Always a haute ticket, the Chanel Fall 2017 presentation on Tuesday (March 7) during Paris Fashion Week brought with it a set of unique Chanel style statements in the range of front-row looks that were spotted.

Rita Ora
: Going for a relaxed edginess, Rita wore a more laid-back statement in her metallic, floral-print blouse and slouchy leather-accented pants with the pop of her spring-green bag bringing an unexpected burst of colour to the darker look.

Lily Allen: Sculptural and chic, Lily played with proportion in her cape-sleeve coat styled with plush velvet pants for added texture. Her sunglasses, gigantic hoop earrings, and embellished handbag ensured there was a spirited personality to the serious side of the look.

Cara Delevingne: There was no risk for lack of attitude in the model’s ensemble, which saw her breathe a unique boldness into the prim sweater by pairing it with low-slung trousers and Supreme boxers. A Chanel choker and retro round shades completed her style-rebel ensemble.
