Red Carpet Fashion Awards

This Giorgio Armani Spring 2012 dress is so stunning that it’s no surprise it has hit the red carpet on three occasions.

Ryoko Yonekura gave the dazzling sequined strapless dress its debut back in April when she attended the LA premiere of ‘The Avengers’.

Even though the photographer’s flash burnt out all the detail, she looked beautiful nonetheless, styling her dress with a glitter clutch and Jimmy Choo ‘Kiln’ booties.

Spanish actress Paz Vega wore the same dress to the 2012 Trophée Chopard event during Cannes Film Festival, styling her glossy locks into a chic updo.

I loved the dress on her, but the pumps were a very odd choice.

Shu Qi wore the same dress to the Armani Fashion Show in Beijing, China, last month.

From what I can see, her shoe choice was very uninspired, so Ryoko wins for me as her styling was spot on from H-2-T.

Back in March, Michelle Jenner opted to wear a dress from the H&M Red Carpet Conscious Collection to the photocall of her latest movie ‘Extraterrestre’ in Madrid, Spain.

As it was a photocall, she opted to wear the look without the additional skirt, styling it with purple Louboutins to match the embroidery on her dress.

Shu Qi wore the same dress with the longer skirt under the shorter skirt when presenting on stage at the 31st Hong Kong Film Awards in Hong Kong back in April.

The beautiful actress paired her dress with Jimmy Choo heels and gold earrings.

Even though I’m not crazy about the longer skirt over the shorter skirt, I adore Shu’s shoe choice, so she wins for me.

Yesterday evening, Shu Qi attended the 31st Hong Kong Film Awards.

The annual awards are the Hong Kong equivalent to the Oscars and the British BAFTAS.

The actress looked sensational wearing an Armani Privé Spring 2012 gown.

Her lime-green strapless gown, which is fully embroidered with paillettes, kind of reminds me of a kiwi fruit.

The gown with a daring plunging neckline was teamed with gold earrings and gold bracelets.

Shu Qi’s hair, which is now a rich auburn colour, was styled into a retro updo.

This gown fits her like a glove. She is truly radiant, but those gold earrings, which for some reason remind me of discarded Ferrero Rocher wrappers, don’t work for me.

They aren’t quite in tune with the elegant nature of her look and they are odd looking to say the least.

Carina Lau and Shu Qi attended the Polyface Entertainment Media Group official launch recently.

Whist they both opted for Roger Vivier pumps, they opted for very different looks.

Carina wore a very cute Jonathan Saunders Resort 2011 dress.

Her mini dress has a multicoloured graphic floral-print bodice and sheer sleeves. It’s a cute directional take on ladylike style.

Knowing these two ladies I would’ve expected Carina to wear this Gucci Spring 2011 dress and Shu Qi to opt for the cuter Jonathan Saunders dress.

But Shu Qi wore the bold Gucci dress with the block colours, gold obi belt and plunging neckline.

The only thing that lets Shu Qi down is her gold Roger Vivier pumps. This shoe deserves a strappy sandal and I think she should’ve worn her hair back with this look.

I prefer Shu Qi dress, but I prefer Carina’s overall look and styling.

We went for two very different looks this week.

Young, sexy and edgy versus sophisticated, classic and graceful.

Despite many of you objecting to Blake taking every aspect from the Spring 2011 runway to create her Lanvin look, she still won the votes this week.

She looked absolutely beautiful and full of confidence.

Shu Qi wearing Armani Privé was my favourite look this week.

Her dress was stunning and her beautiful smile made me fall in love with look even more.
