Selena Gomez In Giorgio Armani – 2014 American Music Awards

Selena Gomez In Giorgio Armani - 2014 American Music Awards

Following her sombre, aging, uninspiring, braless red carpet look, Selena Gomez performed onstage at the 2014 American Music Awards held at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on Sunday (November 23) in Los Angeles, California.

The singer wore a custom Giorgio Armani blush gown with a deep-scoop neckline and delicate layers of soft tulle which will have us all saying, “This is much more like it” and “Why didn’t you make this your red carpet look?”

Ethereal and enchanting, the look was styled with a simple half-up, half-down hairstyle with the makeup soft and in neutral hues to complement her gown.

For the first time in a long while, this is a Selena Gomez look I can fully get on board with.

Selena Gomez In Armani Privé – 2014 American Music Awards

Selena Gomez In Armani Privé - 2014 American Music Awards

Selena Gomez is performing at tonight’s 2014 American Music Awards, hosted on November 23 at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, California.

But before changing outfits for her stage time, she was on the red carpet in an Armani Privé slinky black gown paired with gold statement earrings and cuff bracelets.

I much preferred this look from the side profile and the back, where the more interesting backless detail of the dress and her bun-inspired updo could be glimpsed in better perspective.

While I will never be one to argue with classic sophistication, this look translated as rather serious and mature for the singer-actress, especially for the AMAs.

Do you agree?

Selena Gomez In Versace – 3rd Annual Unlikely Heroes Awards Dinner and Gala

Selena Gomez In Versace - 3rd Annual Unlikely Heroes Awards Dinner and Gala

Selena Gomez attended the 3rd Annual Unlikely Heroes Awards Dinner and Gala held at the Sofitel Hotel on Saturday (November 8) in Los Angeles, California.

The actress wore a white Versace suit adorned with gold beaded epaulettes from the Fall 2014 collection.

Many, like me, haven’t always understood the Gomez-Versace pairing, but on this occasion I have to say I like the sleekness of the look sans the gold beaded epaulettes.

I think the only people who could pull off the gaudiness of those epaulettes are Heidi Klum and Mel B.

Once again the makeup appears a tad too light for her complexion, but the rest of the styling, including metallic-gold pumps, complements her look.

Selena Gomez In Gucci – 2014 LACMA Art + Film Gala

Selena Gomez In Gucci - 2014 LACMA Art + Film Gala

Selena Gomez attended the 2014 LACMA Art + Film Gala on Saturday (November 1) in Los Angeles.

After not being so impressed with Kirsten Dunst’s offering, this is more like it.

The actress stunned wearing a Gucci one-of-a-kind pale-grey silk georgette floor-length dress intricately embroidered with small grey crystal chains, with twisted shoulder straps held by a black-diamond crystal brooch.

Some say that she often looks like a young girl playing dress up, yet for me this sultry gown couldn’t be more perfect for her, from the alluring silhouette to the colour which complements her caramel skin tone.

This is one of her best looks in a long while.

Who Wore Dior Better…Lucy Hale or Selena Gomez?

Who Wore Dior Better Lucy Hale or Selena Gomez

Lucy Hale wore a micro-mini Dior fit-and-flare dress sculpted from vibrant red duchess satin with a lustrous sheen and a plunging neckline to the 2014 Teen Choice Awards back in August styled with Brian Atwood ‘Abell’ sandals, which added a punch to this sweet offering, a MICHAEL Michael Kors clutch, and a selection of jewels.

Selena Gomez wore the same dress last week to the ‘Rudderless’ LA premiere styled with Manolo Blahnik ‘Pacha’ translucent cap-toe pumps which complemented her black VBH envelope clutch.

My overall opinion is that the dress is too short and too tight on both; however, Lucy wins for me as I like her sassier shoe choice and the lining she added to her dress.
