Oscars 2014 & Vanity Fair Party Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Oscars menThe Oscars 2014 on Sunday (March 2), and the ensuing soirees, were a fashion feast for the senses, with high-wattage gowns swishing at every glam turn. But the men provided plenty of eye candy, as well, as they suited up in their sartorial best for the stylish super-event at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California followed by the Vanity Fair Oscar Party.

Matthew McConaughey: The ‘Dallas Buyers Club’ Best Actor winner not only delivered a compelling acceptance speech, he also was convincingly decked out in a Dolce & Gabbana suit, Louboutin shoes and Chopard cufflinks. Always surprising us with his wild-card jackets, this one was a crispy ivory number, which he handsomely sported with a black vest, white button-down, black trousers and bowtie.

Bradley Cooper: Looking ever so dapper in a black Tom Ford tuxedo, paired with a black bow tie and Chopard cufflinks, the ‘American Hustle’ star and Best Supporting Actor nominee wore a side of handsome scruff with his classic ensemble

Pharrell Williams: Well, he wasn’t wearing the colossal hat, but the ‘Happy’ singer and nominee still turned heads with his cutoffs. The custom head-to-toe Lanvin look featured a black wool shawl-collar, one-button tuxedo with matching shorts, a white tuxedo shirt with ivory pearl buttons, a black satin bowtie and dark gray hand-polished calfskin derbies (sans socks, natch).  Yay or nay?

Idina Menzel In Reem Acra - Oscars 2014 Performance

Idina Menzel performed the hit song from Frozen, ‘Let It Go,’ during the 2014 Oscars held at Hollywood & Highland Center on Sunday (March 2) in Hollywood, California.

The Tony award winner donned her second gown of the tonight; this time going for soft and ethereal wearing a pretty Reem Acra peach embroidery gown.

A big performance needed a big gown, so she delivered on both fronts.

Sarah Paulson In Elie Saab Couture – Oscars 2014

Sarah Paulson attended the 2014 Oscars held at Hollywood & Highland Center on Sunday (March 2) in Hollywood, California.

The ’12 Years A Slave’ actress wore an Elie Saab peach 3/4 sleeve fully embellished gown with sheer skirt and embroidered hem from the Spring 2013 Couture collection.

Christian Louboutin ‘Youpi’ rose-gold glitter peep toe pumps and a Ferragamo clutch completed her look.

I knew she would come good in the end. Another twee dress wouldn’t sent me over the edge.

Liza Minnelli In Vintage Halston – Oscars 2014

Liza Minnelli attended the 2014 Oscars held at Hollywood & Highland Center on Sunday (March 2) in Hollywood, California.

The entertainer put a spring in her step adding a blue streak to her cropped ‘do to match her vintage Halston tunic top and pants.

Some might think she went too far with the hair, but I like how she appeared to be having a lot of fun with this look.

Pink In Elie Saab Couture – Oscars 2014 Performance

Pink In Elie Saab Couture - Oscars 2014 Performance

Pink gave a brilliant performance of ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow’ in tribute to Judy Garland at the 2014 Oscars on Sunday (March 2).

Not only was her performance breath-taking, but so was her Elie Saab Fall 2013 Couture gown.

Even though I had bookmarked this merlot 3/4 sleeve fully embellished ball-gown with deep v-neck for Jessica Chastain; Pink never looked better.

I was totally in awe as she was easily one of my favourites on the night.

I still have goosebumps.

Did she blow you away too?

Lady Gaga In Atelier Versace – Oscars 2014

Lady Gaga In Atelier Versace Couture - Oscars 2014

Lady Gaga was in typically grand form, as she paraded down the Oscars 2014 red carpet at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California on Sunday (March 2).

As the current face of Versace, it came as no surprise that she was posing theatrically in the label. The showy metallic, curve-enhancing column gown, traced in glinting silver Art Deco embellishment, hailed from the Atelier Versace Spring 2014 Couture collection and came draped with a dramatic lavender sash.

Yet, this glittering glamazon dress was still a more normalized look for Mother Monster, who traded in her standard otherworldly styling for a more classic approach. She even skipped the Donatella extensions for a sleek, platinum-blonde updo and pretty lilac eye shadow.

Oscar had nothing on Mother Monster, who could have been her own prize statuette, with her enormously high stilts—custom Brian Atwood platforms—acting as the trophy stand.

Aside from the ridiculous shoes, this is Gaga-gorgeous—her version of diva dressing at its finest.
