9th Annual Governors Awards Red Carpet Roundup

The long list of stars continued at the 9th Annual Governors Awards on Saturday (November 11) in Hollywood, California. Here, a look at the rest of the glamorous ensembles that graced the red carpet.

Jessica Chastain: Flame-red locks and a flame-red gown made for a perfected, fiery match in this Alexander McQueen gown that was topped off with even more elegantly sultry attitude in her red lip.

Kristen Wiig: I’m not sure this Galvan London Fall 2017 velvet gown photographed as well as it could have. But, I still liked her embrace of the daring plunge and the pairing of the Atelier Swarovski by Christopher Kane jewels and Djula diamond hoops.

Sarah Paulson: Channeling a gothic twist on glamour, Sarah showed off the darkly sophisticated side of Miu Miu with this embellished, bold-shoulder gown that was finished in similar mood with an oxblood lip and a Tyler Ellis clutch.

Sarah Paulson In Carolina Herrera – 2017 Emmy Awards

Sarah Paulson attended the 2017 Emmy Awards on Sunday night (September 17) in Los Angeles.

The prolific television actress wore a shimmering Carolina Herrera Spring 2018 gown with a Lee Savage clutch and Lorraine Schwartz jewels.

Of course, Sarah is always one to watch on the red carpet because of the risks she’s willing to take. And while this look isn’t a risk, it is a super cool editorial statement. The complete monochrome offers a really dramatic effect, and now I must talk once again about fit: If this dress had been altered to fit Sarah as it was the runway model, it would be much more expected, but by keeping the gown a bit looser, it is much more interesting, and well, Sarah!

Sarah Paulson In Prabal Gurung – The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon

Sarah Paulson stopped by ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,’ where she showed off her acting chops while playing the famed ‘Wheel of Impressions’ game on Tuesday (September 5) in New York City.

Showing her love of a bold pattern, the ‘American Horror Story: Cult’ actress donned a Prabal Gurung Fall 2017 dress.

A side cutout was never so welcomed so as to break up the busyness of the florals while injecting a bit of modern, youthful appeal to what easily could have been deemed a bit granny-ish.

I do think the look could have been enlivened further with different styling, as the shoes and hair did fall rather flat.

Sarah Paulson In Monique Lhuillier – 2017 Summer TCA Tour

Flower power knew no bounds for Sarah Paulson at the 2017 TCA Tour in which she sat on a panel for ‘American Horror Story: Cult’ on Wednesday (August 9).

I believe every hue of the rainbow must have been represented in this Monique Lhuillier Fall 2017 floral-forward frock that will certainly satiate anyone’s cry for summer colour.

With a dress this busy in blooms, I’m glad she simplified the styling down to black Giuseppe Zanotti sandals, Eva Fehren jewels and a petal-pink lip.

With so many bold flowers, the femininity of the look was a given. But, there almost seemed to be a certain darker, foreboding mystique to the look, as well. Or, maybe that’s just because I’m equating the look to ‘American Horror Story’.

Who Wore Bella Freud Better? Sarah Paulson or Alison Brie?

Bella Freud may be known for her cult sweaters, but both Sarah Paulson and Alison Brie loved her striking red hued mid dress.

Sarah wore her frock to the Television Academy’s reception for Emmy nominees with Charlotte Olympia accessories, while Alison opted for lighter accessories for Spring styling her look with a white clutch and Alexander White ‘Brianna’ mesh pumps.

The playfulness of Sarah’s pumps and her flame red lip win me over. She totally nailed the look from head to toe.

Sarah Paulson In Rodarte – 2017 Tony Awards

Sarah Paulson looked radiant on Sunday (June 11) as she attended the 2017 Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

The breath-taking Rodarte Fall 2017 collection gown showcased the designer’s love of all things layered and lace.

With a sheer barely-there neckline and pearl embroidery, this gown is the epitome of femininity and softness. I love how the ‘American Horror Story’ actress counters the gentle romance with a plum Judith Leiber clutch and similarly toned lips.

A special mention for the Irene Neuwirth jewels which elevate this ethereal look to stratospheric status with soft, on-trend wave, completes this look.

Utter perfection, I don’t think it could be improved upon at all, do you?
