Sarah Jessica Parker In Alexandra New York Vintage – Cindy Chao’s ‘The Art Jewel’ Event

Sarah Jessica Parker In Alexandra New York Vintage - Cindy Chao’s ‘The Art Jewel’ Event

As an ambassador for the brand, Sarah Jessica Parker attended the Cindy Chao’s ‘The Art Jewel’ event held in Beijing, China on Sunday evening.

The actress, who is not only an avid fan of jewels but also of vintage clothing, wore a chartreuse fit-and-flare frock from Alexandra New York.

While chartreuse is not an easy colour to pull off, especially in this shimmering fabric, I think the lavender suede Jean-Michel Cazabat ‘Ella’ d’orsay pumps do a good job of elevating the look, as do the sparkling Cindy Chao jewels, which include the ‘Branch’ bangles, the ‘Donut’ bangle, and the ‘Feather’ earrings.

Can SJP do no wrong and make this colour work for you?

Sarah Jessica Parker Loves…Jean-Michel Cazabat

Sarah Jessica Parker Loves Jean-Michel Cazabat

Sarah Jessica Parker was known for her love of Manolo Blahniks as Carrie Bradshaw, but in her real life a new shoe designer has won her heart.

That would be Jean-Michel Cazabat. The French designer is loved for his use of bold colours, flirty silhouettes, whimsical details and exotic skins. Each style is very distinctive, fun, fashionable and feminine.

His signature details include glitter-specked suedes, metallic finishes, and colour blocking. Textural elements like braiding, piping, intricate strapping and top-stitching further animate his designs.

There are two styles which SJP favours: the ‘Emma’, a classic snakeskin pump with an unexpected spin on a classic silhouette; and the ‘Ella’, a sexy d’Orsay pump which she wore to the BAFTAs last month and Guild Hall last week.

Other celebrity fans include Olivia Munn, Miley Cyrus, Brooklyn Decker and Krysten Ritter.

Sarah Jessica Parker In Elie Saab – 2013 BAFTA Awards

Sarah Jessica Parker In Elie Saab 2013 BAFTA AwardsSarah Jessica Parker attended the 2013 BAFTA Awards on Sunday at the Royal Opera House in London, England.

You could say her dark Elie Saab ensemble from the Pre-Fall 2013 collection somewhat played to the cold and rainy mood.

It was a solid jumpsuit in theory, with its structured bodice and waist detail and the mini keyhole, all paired with plain black pumps. (SJP was no doubt much warmer than some of the other stars on the red carpet, too.)

But the end result just didn’t translate quite as dynamically for this actress.

In this case, the addition of the metallic gold belt from the designer’s lookbook might have provided a sleeker, waist-defining edge.

The diamond necklace, which perhaps was added to dress up the look, didn’t work well with the high neckline.

All in all, I couldn’t help but be a bit underwhelmed, if only because I was expecting a bolder statement, especially given the recent looks (remember the furry blue Misha Nonoo ensemble and the exhilarating fuchsia Maison Martin Margiela gown) we’ve seen from this stylista.

No matter; SJP will no doubt up the style-forward ante on another occasion.

Sarah Jessica Parker In Misha Nonoo – New York City Ballet Luncheon

Sarah Jessica Parker In Mischa Nonoo - New York City Ballet Luncheon

With temperatures dipping way below freezing and snow storms headed to the East Coast, Sarah Jessica Parker is well prepared.

The actress was spotted making her way to the New York City Ballet Luncheon yesterday wearing a Misha Nonoo Pre-Fall 2013 ‘Annabel’ hydrangea-blue double-breasted alpaca coat over her sexy L’Agence fitted dress.

Even though the coat is attention grabbing, I still find myself able to appreciate each piece of this look, which was styled with Christian Louboutin ‘Pivichic’ pumps in a gorgeous coral colour.

You may remember that Kerry Washington wore these same pumps in black last week.

I think these are going to be the ‘Bis Un Bout’ heels of 2013.

Sarah Jessica Parker In Maison Martin Margiela Couture – amfAR New York Gala To Kick Off Fall 2013 Fashion Week

Sarah Jessica Parker In Maison Martin Margiela Couture - amfAR New York Gala To Kick Off Fall 2013 Fashion WeekSarah Jessica Parker paraded out a bold style statement at the amfAR New York Gala to kick off Fall 2013 Fashion Week, hosted at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City on Wednesday evening.

The actress went to the Maison Martin Margiela Spring 2013 ‘Artisanal’ Couture runway for inspiration, where she found it in a fiery fuchsia number wrapped up in an extra-long black-and-white sash.

The colour of this strapless column gown with its vivid silk velvet, coaxed into a herringbone pattern, was exhilarating.

But the dress did completely overwhelm SJP’s petite frame, especially with the puddle of fabric that surrounded her every pose.

With a smokey eye, nude lip and her hair in loose waves, she tossed the model’s mask to the curb. After all, the look was high-concept enough without such tribal trappings.

The ‘Artisanal’ collection mixes playful invention and innovative upcycling with a sense of romance and wit. But the exits can still be challenging for the red carpet.

Did you like SJP’s look or should she have left it on the runway?

Best Dressed Of The Week – Michelle Obama In Jason Wu & Sarah Jessica Parker In Giambattista Valli Couture & Mary Katrantzou

BDOTW FLOTUS & SJP

FLOTUS was your best dressed this week wearing Jason Wu and I can’t fault your choice as Mihcelle Obama looked stunning at the inaugural ball.

My choice was Sarah Jessica Parker.

As a lover of prints she managed to expertly blend a variety of prints courtesy of Giambattista Valli Couture, Mary Katrantzou and Jean-Michel Cazabat and make them work together.

This is a feat we thought only Solange Knowles could master.
