With the Sex And The City movie release this week Marie Claire UK have created a double cover for their July 2008 issue.

The magazine, which goes on sale tomorrow, will feature Sarah Jessica Parker and Kristin Davis on separate covers.

When it comes to these types of issues, I usually always pick my favourite star, which in this case is SJP, but I much prefer Kristin’s cover.

I am not crazy about SJP’s dress on the cover, nor her straighten hair. I prefer her with curly or at least wavy hair. On Kristin’s cover everything is working for me, the hair, the dress, even the shade of pink lettering.

These may seem like little things to pick over, but it would really make a difference in my decision-making process.

This is of course not the first June/July cover SJP has been on.

As the world eagerly awaits the movie release, the main star has featured on many covers.

“Two Lovers” Photocall, Cannes

Another day, another dress and another pair of fabulous gladiator heels worn by Gwyneth Paltrow for us to lust over. These Giuseppe Zanotti heels were worn during the Balmain Spring 2007 collection.

Gwynie does simple elegance well. This time she is wearing a chocolate Celine Spring 2008 strapless dress, which ties at the waist.

“Covet” Fragrance Launch, Paris

Fashionista Sarah Jessica Parker attended her Covet Paris fragrance launch, wearing a stunning blush pink Giambattista Valli Spring 2008 strapless fitted dress, with pretty ruffles for added detail.

10th Anniversary of Gen Art’s Styles International Design Competition, New York

Sophia Bush has been missing from the red carpet for a while. The last time we saw her she was attending almost every show at New York Fashion Week back in February.

For this event she is head to toe in Gucci. Her black and white dress is from the Gucci Spring 2008 collection, as are her sexy heels.

68th Annual American Ballet Theatre Spring Gala, New York

It is nice that Taylor Momsen is wearing big name designers, but this Marchesa Spring 2008 gown is too much for the 14 year old Gossip Girl actress.

Woman Woman actress Lynda Carter, is beyond wonderful in this Naeem Khan Spring 2008 ensemble.

1st NewNowNext Awards, New York

Cindi Lauper totally rocks this Alexander McQueen Spring 2008 kimono mini dress. It is very much a mini version of a similar style Janet Jackson wore recently.

“Late Show With David Letterman”, New York

Alexander McQueen opening a new store in LA has celebrities going crazy of his designs. Liv Tyler’s plunge-neck satin dress is also by Alexander McQueen.

The actress wore her dress with a pair of Alexander McQueen Square toe pumps, which are black patent leather with a pink sole.

Sarah Jessica Parker wore this stunning strapless blush custom-made Versace dress. No dramatic hat this time, just her hair pulled back and to the side.

Kristin Davis opted for this forest green and black floral 40s style Oscar de la Renta Fall 2008 cocktail dress with a knotted detail.

Ms Davis seems thing for Louboutins and who can blame her. This time she is wearing a pair of black Christian Louboutin Very Noeud slingbacks with a dramatic oversized bow.

Her stunning jewelry was from Boucheron.

Cynthia Nixon again wore a black plunge-neck dress, but this time with added embellishments, but I still got a feeling of de ja vu.

She still looks the least happy to be there.

Oh dear. I hope Kim Cattrall is saving her best dress for New York. That is two strikes for her.

This orange number with a very strange gathering of fabric pieces on the side, didn’t flatter her at all.

BRING ON NEW YORK.

Could Sarah Jessica Parker look anymore breath-taking on the cover of Vogue US June 2008?

She is shimmering in this golden Versace Fall 2008 gown, which accessorized is with Stephen Russell diamond-and-platinum earrings. Cartier emerald-cut diamond ring. Balenciaga by Nicolas Ghesquière crystal-and-pearl bracelet. Manolo Blahnik d’Orsay heels and the gorgeous Chris Noth in the background.

This shoot is even better than I hoped it would be. It’s sexy, vibrant and has a old Hollywood feel to it just to amp up the glamour.

Vogue US seem to like putting Sarah Jessica Parker in gold on the cover of their magazine. For the September 2005 edition SJP also wore stunning golden gown, and looked equally stunning.

Here are some extracts from Sarah’s interview.

On how she is similar to Carrie: “We will both try anything. I will try anything for Carrie, and I will try anything for me. In real life I never dressed the way she dressed, nor would I. I grew up in a house of matching. You know, our hair ribbons matched our dress, and our pinafore matched our socks. You didn’t clash colors. What I learned by being around Pat Field was there shouldn’t be rules in fashion. Things shouldn’t go together. And that’s the thing that really changed in my own world and the way I choose to dress.”

On being trendy: “Aren’t we all supposed to be a little bit the victim of trends? I can look back at pictures of myself with the great assurance that I will be embarrassed by about 60 percent of them. This is the nature of fashion—admiring the wrong girl, you know, looking at the wrong picture, wishing you were somebody else. And that’s the developmentally correct thing.”

On Carrie’s style: “I would wear anything as Carrie Bradshaw if I thought it would be good for the story. The bits and pieces, and the stuff people object to. And that’s Carrie—hits and misses mean nothing to her.”

Chanel Fall 2008

Nina Ricci Fall 2008

Alexander McQueen Fall 2008

Narciso Rodriguez Fall 2008

Marchesa Fall 2008

Versace Fall 2008

Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2008

Lanvin Fall 2008

She looks fabulous in all these pictures, but the shot were she is wearing the eggplant Marchesa dress and the Christian Louboutin heels is for me the best.

I can’t wait until this edition comes to the UK. It is going into the my magazine collectors box.

Don’t pretend you don’t have one.

OK. I have had time to digest Sarah Jessica Parker’s ensemble and I have decided that it is not as bad as I first thought.

The Alexander McQueen dress and especially the Philip Treacy hat is very Carrie-esqe in it’s exuberance. But my first thoughts about the shoes are still the same…me no likey.

Like Coco rightly said, I would rather this than a boring LBD.

Kristin Davis is stunning in this interesting vintage raspberry chiffon Guy Laroche Couture dress from Decades Inc.

Kristin has a sexy hourglass figure, and this dress extenuates this by pulling her in at the waist, whilst gently skimming her hips. The most interesting part of the dress for me is the light feathering at the hem.

Kristin completes her look with a gold clutch and a cream pair of Christian Louboutin Crepe Satin Peep-Toe Pumps.

Cynthia Nixon wore the most instantly recognisable dress. Her dress is from the Calvin Klein Fall 2008 collection.

Some of you may recognise this dress as being similar to the dress worn by Liv Tyler at the Costume Institute Gala.

It is rare that we see Cynthia showing so much skin, but I like it.

Kim Cattrall was the only one who really fell a little flat for me. Kim has an amazing figure and she normally takes to the red carpet in a gowns which shows it off.

This Vivienne Westwood dress would have been more fitting on Sarah Jessica Parker.

Kelly Rowland I think now lives in London, as she always seems to be here.

She does look great in this lavender Donna Karan Fall 2007 strapless mini dress which show off her perfect pins.

The effortlessly cool model Daisy Lowe is the first person to wear this adorable Miu Miu Spring 2008 red, white and black mini ballerina-esqe dress. We have seen it in many editorials, but not on the red carpet.

She teams her dress with a black blazer, tights and white Mary Jane’s with a gold trim.

Fashion TV presenter Trinny Woodall is wearing a gorgeous bubblegum pink Lanvin Spring 2008 dress.

TV Sports Presenter Gary Lineker’s girlfriend Danielle Bux, wore a sexy sequined black, white and nude Jenny Packham Spring 2008 cocktail dress.

Britain’s Next Top Model presenter and George Clooney’s ex, Lisa Snowdon’s ensemble is easily forgettable, but those gorgeous bubble gum pink shoe are not.

J’ Adore.

Actress Michelle Ryan has more resistance than me. If I was going to this premiere I would have popped that zit right out.

She could have done something with her hair to go with her amazing lavender Herve Leger dress.

This is the third time Dame Vivienne Westwood has worn this Spring 2007 cut out dress from her own collection, but she always wears it well.

It is very interesting looking at these group pictures. Normally SJP and Kim are on the opposite ends or have one other in between them. Here it looks like they have made a decision to stand next to each other, to avoid they “they can’t stand each other” rumours.

I…I…I’m lost for words.
