2017 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show After Show Party

The 2017 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show After Party took place on Monday (November 20) in Shanghai, China, with a wide ranging mix of styles.

I decided to split them into categories this year staring with: My Favourites.

Cindy Bruna: This Brandon Maxwell Spring 2017 suit originally stormed the runway with a blouse, but Cindy made the look her own by opting to go without.  The excessive boobage might turn off some, but I’m more intrigued by the impeccable tailoring.

Maria Borges: I’m a huge fan of Maria’s style, but I was blown away when she opted to wear this Tiffany Amber gown which proudly showcased her African roots. The dress, the belt and head wrap are gorgeous, but it’s the ‘going against the grain’ statement which I find most endearing.

Jourdana Phillips: You can’t get much chicer than a cream tuxedo dress styled with gold Giuseppe Zanotti rose-gold sandals.

‘Backstage Secrets’ By Russell James Book Launch

A flurry of supermodels were out in force to support noted Aussie photographer Russell James and his new book, ‘Backstage Secrets’ on Saturday (November 18) in Shanghai, China.

Karlie Kloss: Sometimes Karlie plays it safe, so I love how playful this sporty David Koma Resort 2018 mesh frock was. I do think she could have extended the fun to her shoes with a bright-pink pair instead of these Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudist’ sandals.

Martha Hunt: With a play on lavender metallic, this Baja East Spring 2018 two-piece set was sassy if nothing else. Also wearing a pair of Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudist’ sandals, she let the outfit do all the talking with the shoes all but disappearing.

Sara Sampaio: I like how Sara balanced out the wide-leg appeal of these Paule Ka trousers with a sultry spliced Y/Project cutout bodysuit.

2017 Glamour Women Of The Year Awards Red Carpet Roundup

Many modes of so-called glamour were represented at the 2017 Glamour Women of the Year Awards on Monday (November 13) in Brooklyn, New York. Here’s a look at some of the other femmes in attendance.

Sailor Brinkley: Simple seduction was precisely what this ZAC Zac Posen Resort 2018 sequin slip gown was all about—with Sailor’s romantic ringlets to follow form.

Yolanda Hadid: For Yolanda, an LBD meant a long black dress in this Akris gown that smartly hinted at seduction in the keyhole detail and side slit.

Sofia Coppola: Fresh and snappy, this Michael Kors Collection Resort 2018 floral frock brought a boldly printed twist to Sofia’s comfortable, no-nonsense style.

2017 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards Red Carpet Roundup

The stylish ladies were out in full force at the 2017 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards on Monday (November 6) in Brooklyn, New York.

Sara Sampaio: The Portuguese model charmed in a J Mendel Resort 2018 mini. The short shape and blush colour were enlivened with feathered appliqués. The dusty neutral tones and simple styling allowed the texture to be appreciated without the bird connotations.

Karlie Kloss:
Striking a shimmering statement, the model donned a Christian Dior frock. The long sleeves and ankle-length hemline had a prim feel, but the geometric pattern and shimmering details added much allure.

Lauren Santo Domingo: Also in a feathered confection, the Moda Operandi cofounder was clad in Calvin Klein Fall 2017. Similar to Sara, the textured look had a sophisticated finish thanks to the blush-toned feathers but hers were accented with red and yellow. Given the lightness of the dress, I would have preferred a softer shoe without the black details. You may remember that Julianne Moore wore this same dress to the Met Gala.

Sara Sampaio In Victoria, Victoria Beckham – Paris Sighting

After walking the runway during Paris Fashion Week, Sara Sampaio was seen in Paris on Friday (September 29) looking appropriately fashion-forward.

The Portuguese model’s off-duty style often focuses on crop tops, skinny jeans and denim cut-offs so I enjoyed seeing this preppier side of her. Sara selected Victoria, Victoria Beckham Spring 2017 wide leg, reverse denim trousers. Playing off the sporty stripe of the jeans, she added a roomy button-down blouse and a pale blue bag.

Sara opted for white sneakers as opposed to the original sandals. What did you think of the way she styled the jeans?

Irving Penn Exhibition Private Viewing Hosted by Vogue

A private viewing, hosted by Vogue, for the Irving Penn exhibition at the Grand Palais was held on Sunday (October 1) during Paris Fashion Week.

Adwoa Aboah: Taking a break from walking the runways at Paris Fashion Week, Adwoa posed in a Richard Quinn Spring 2018 look that offered an invigorating, happy mix of ditzy florals. You would think with so many bold, competing prints that this would translate as disjointed. But, on the contrary, I loved this look on Adwoa, and I also credit its success to her minimal approach to the styling, with a black sandal and red pout all she needed. Flower power, indeed.

Kylie Minogue: I think it’s safe to say that Kylie put this Alice McCall ‘More Than A Woman’ fringe gown to work for her—as it was made to be spun around. As fun as it was, I was a bit tassel fatigued and the muted, mauve-pink colour wasn’t my favourite for the vibrancy of the entertainer, but she attempted to bring a splash of vividness via her lipstick.

Dita von Teese: With a look that riffed on the field-of-poppies print from the Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2017 Couture collection, Dita maximized proportions with this look. I have mixed feelings on the balloon sleeves, as they might be lumped into a costume-y circus category. But, the colours were striking in contrast to the black pencil skirt.
