Ruth Wilson In Sophia Kah – The National Theatre Gala Dinner

Ruth Wilson In Sophia Kah - The National Theatre Gala Dinner

Ruth Wilson attended The National Theatre gala dinner hosted by Vogue Magazine for ‘The Curious Incident of The Dog in the Night-Time’ on Tuesday (October 7) in New York City.

The actress wore a Sophia Kah Spring 2014 white lace corseted dress with a strikingly contrasting orange layered skirt styled with those white and silver sandals we’ve seen her wearing once before.

What looks great in the lookbook doesn’t quite translate in real life, mostly because the model doesn’t fill out the bodice. Even with Ruth’s moderate size, it changes the landscape of things, making her appear saggy up top without much support.

Ruth Wilson In Christopher Kane – ‘The Affair’ New York Series Premiere

Ruth Wilson In Christopher Kane - ‘The Affair’ New York Series Premiere

Ruth Wilson attended the premiere of Showtime’s drama ‘The Affair’ held at North River Lobster Company on Monday (October 6) in New York City.

The actress wore a Christopher Kane Spring 2015 silk georgette blouse in a fluid design styled with a more directional silver skirt featuring draped pleated chiffon layers either side for yet another typically unique look from the Scottish designer.

The key to pulling this look off was the right underwear. The wrong option could’ve sent this look down a very wrong path.

This soft, feminine look with a slight edge was styled with the most perfect pair of silver and white strappy sandals.

CBS, CW And Showtime Party: On Thursday (July 17) the British actress wore a Mary Katrantzou Resort 2015 eggplant lace dress with cream embroidered detail. Unlike the sheer pieces which appeared in the designer’s look book, Ruth’s dress was lined, which on this occasion helped enhance the threadwork. Even with so much detail on her dress, I love that Ruth still opted for a statement shoe, selecting an aqua Jimmy Choo sandal

‘The Affair’ Panel: The following day (July 18) Ruth went in the total opposite direction wearing a look from her favourite brand, Dior. The Resort 2014 sleeveless black maxi dress with a layered panel on the bodice was styled with white studded sandals and a silver bracelet.

Ruth can wear just about anything and pull it off. She rarely puts a foot wrong in my eyes.

Christian Dior Cruise 2015 Front Row

Dior Cruise 2015 Front Row

The Christian Dior Cruise 2015 show took place on Wednesday (May 7) in Brooklyn, New York City.

The front row was packed with Dior devotees, with Jennifer Lawrence notably absent as she is currently filming ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay’ in Paris, France.

Rihanna: Despite the tattoos and our knowledge of the Bajan star telling us otherwise, Rihanna looked really sweet wearing a dainty Dior pale-pink quilted silk dress with a ruffled hemline. The look was styled with Dior tri-colour pumps with an asymmetrical strap, and a metallic top-handle ‘Lady Dior’ bag from the Spring 2014 collection, plus a ‘Diorific’ necklace and bracelet and ‘Mise en Dior’ earrings.

Marion Cotillard: Just when I thought the French actress had turned a corner, she’s back to selecting tent dresses. It’s a shimmering Dior off white silk Fall 2014 dress with an embroidered off white knitted t-shirt, but oversized and unflattering nonetheless. It screams maternity. Her Dior choices continue to baffle me.

Margot Robbie: The actress is not having a good week. First the Met Gala and now this. Possibly the excessive tan is at fault here, as it’s clashing with her Dior gold lamé Pre-Fall 2014 skirt which was paired with a Dior green wool crepe top. She styled her look with a Dior black clutch and pumps, plus one of those ‘Diorganic’ necklaces featuring a waterfall of green crystals and resin beads that entwine around the neck like leaves which hails from the Spring 2014 collection.

Ruth Wilson In Erdem – 2014 Met Gala

Ruth Wilson In Erdem - 2014 Met Gala

Ruth Wilson was the one person I was looking out for at the 2014 Met Gala after it was announced she was attending with designer Erdem Moralioglu.

The pictures of the British actress finally hit Getty this morning and I’m sure you will agree it was worth the wait.

Her richly textured black gown was perfectly in tune with her style: darkly decadent with a touch of drama.

As you can see, the look is a bespoke version of Look 30 from the Fall 2014 collection, retaining the draped tulle overlay, ruby crystallized accents and draped detail from the hip.

The addition of the opera gloves, slicked-back hair and ruby lip enhanced the drama tenfold.

Ruth Wilson In Erdem - Laurence Olivier Awards 2014

Ruth Wilson attended the Laurence Olivier Awards held at The Royal Opera House on Sunday (April 13) in London, England.

Not getting the pastel memo, the British actress wore a sombre Erdem Spring 2014 black dress styled with Charlotte Olympia ‘Sandrine’ sandals.

Known for often taking a risk on the red carpet, her dramatic sleeveless frock with an alluring sheer bodice, and organza ruffled rise-and-fall train stood out for all the right reasons.

Do you agree?

Ruth Wilson In Antonio Berardi – 2014 BAFTAs

Ruth Wilson In Antonio Berardi - 2014 BAFTAsRuth Wilson was one of the first on the red carpet at the 2014 BAFTAs, held today (February 16) at The Royal Opera House in London, England.

The British actress left the gowns for the rest of the girls, instead suiting up in metallic, menswear-inspired garb from Antonio Berardi’s Pre-Fall 2014 collection.

Staying relatively true to the lookbook styling, she wore the structured, iridescent silver blazer and cropped pants as presented with the cummerbund-inspired peplum piece and white blouse.

Red toe-cap heels brought out the flash of red in the folded ruffle detail of the jacket.

The glam-rock edge was wholly present and accounted for, but she took it even further with her wavy and wild, sideswept ’do.

Are you missing the dress, or do you like this shiny, mannish moment?
