NYLON Magazine’s Young Hollywood Issue Party

I’m wondering if Rumer Willis has a new stylist, because she seems to have changed her style direction, plus she is wearing British designers lately.

She has worn a few pieced from Todd Lynn, and on this occasion she’s wore a black jagged edge Nathan Jenden Sandra strapless dress, with black Christian Louboutin Paquita gladiators.

I love that she’s trying out new designers, and not following what the rest of young Hollywood is wearing, but she needs to figure out what hairstyle works best for her, because this wavy style is really messy, and spoils her overall look, which is a huge shame.

Sophia Bush keeps it casual in a simple tank, jeans, trib two’s and black jeans. She makes her look interesting with a strappy belt.

I love how she is growing out her hair.

With gorgeous nude lips, and black strappy sandals, Amber Stevens wore a bandeau dress, with stripes and roses from Topshop.

Such a cute look.

Audrina Patridge wears a very sheer Kain Label crop top, with a yellow 3.1 Phillip Lim skirt, we’ve seen her wear before, her favourite Alexander McQueen bow clutch, and Balmain Crystal embellished studded sandals.

I’m seeing a lot of those cropped tops in stores at the moment.

I love Kat Dennings, I think she’s an awesome actress, but I can’t get over her make-up here.

I love this vibrant green colour of Kristin Cavallari strapless dress, the draping is also impressive, but those shoes……

Stephanie Pratt is definitely ready for summer in her white and aqua Bebe tiered ruffle dip dye dress, which she wears with white peep-toe Louboutin’s.

Lo Bosworth’s look is all black with tan accessories to warm up her look.

Social Events Of The Weekend

BritWeek’s Designer Of The Year Fashion Show

Dita von Teese’s Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2009 ensemble, doesn’t have the same charm as Becki Newton’s last week.

Something is not quiet working for me, and I can’t decide whether it’s the shorts, or the hair.

Her look was teamed with stunning black/gold jewels, a metallic rosette, and Dolce & Gabbana satin wedge sandals.

So close. I was so close to loving this Todd Lynn Spring 2009 look on Rumer Willis, but was not sure about the shorts. Then it turns out that she’s not wearing shorts, but a very smartly tailored all in one.

I do love the dove grey tuxedo jacket with the wide lapels top half, and the fact that she wore it without a top underneath, but nil points for the bottom half.

Her hair is looking much better now though.

Lynn Collins also wore Todd Lynn. Her look was from his Fall 2008 collection, which included a white tuxedo jacket with 2 black buttons, and black pants from the same collection.

She completed her look with a pair of Christian Louboutin for Todd Lynn heels, with a hair weft weaved into the back.

I’m really enjoying seeing Lynn on the red carpet. She hasn’t played the safe card yet.

“Cutlass” Screening, New York

Kate Hudson is the producer/director of the short film Cutlass.

Glamour magazine threw a celebratory party this weekend for the film, in which Kate arrived looking quite spectacular wearing a Stella McCartney black velvet devoree dress, with black peep-toes, whilst flashing a peace-sign and a megawatt smile.

17th Annual Kennedy Center Spring Gala

LeAnn Rimes opted for this eggplant Stella McCartney strapless dress from the designers Spring 2009 collection.

Lavender suede Louboutin’s complete this cute look, but that berry shade of lipstick doesn’t do her any favours.

Barnstable Brown Party Celebrating The 135th Kentucky Derby

Brooke Shields’ white strapless Angel Sanchez Spring 2009 gown, with black ribbon details on the front is gorgeous, but I can’t help wishing she had done something more with her hair.

Paris Hilton walked the red carpet wearing a figure-hugging Tadashi black lace dress, with an eye-catching Charlotte Russe feathered cocktail headband, and Trib Two’s.

Her other accessory was her boyf, Doug Reinhardt. They’re inseparable at the moment.

The Rally for Kids with Cancer Scavenger Cup – “The Winner’s Circle” Gala Dinner, LA

Eva Longoria continued to show her support for this event, by attending the gala dinner wearing a mocha Halston Spring 2009 strapless jumpsuit.

I love what she is wearing, plus the hair and the make-up, but I have a huge bug-bear about clothes dragging on the floor like this.

Glamour’s American Icons

Glamour US magazine is celebrating over 70 years of female American Icons, with a host of celebrities including Camilla Belle, Rumer Willis, America Ferrera, Chanel Iman, Hayden Panettiere and Alicia Keys.

Each one takes on a risk taker, rule breaker or a style maker.

Emma Roberts had the honour of representing Audrey Hepburn. In Emma’s shoot she wore a gorgeous voluminous Giambattista Valli Spring 2009 dress/coat.

The look is minus the ivory bows from the runway, which I think works better.

Emma said of Audrey, “She was so simply beautiful. And she loved charity work, something even more beautiful about her.”

Spencer Grammer and Rumer Willis were representing The Women of Woodstock. They both wore pieces from the Roberto Cavalli Spring 2009 collection, which had many hippy inspired pieces, so worked with the Woodstock theme.

“It’s an era that was so important because it was very much about natural beauty.” said Rumer Willis.

To see many other celebrities representing American Icons go to Glamour Magazine.

30.01.09 Premiere

“Push” LA Premiere

I looooove Camilla Belle in this multi-coloured geometric print Alexander McQueen Spring 2009 sleeveless dress.

As always she makes something that looks hard to pull off, look so effortless.

My only critique would be her hair.

14 year old Dakota Fanning is growing up so elegantly, unlike many former teen stars.

Her style is effortless, cute and always age appropriate. This strapless silver strapless mini dress with an origami detail on the bodice just proves that.

It was recently announced that Kimora Lee-Simmons is pregnant, and we got so see a first glimpse of her baby bump in her cute gold baby doll dress.

Rumer Willis fails to impress.

Are those girls laughing with her or at her?

12.01.09 Best Dressed

2009 Golden Globe Awards – Best Dressed

Best Dressed Award
What more can be said about the stunning Olivia Wilde, that has not been said already?

She was one of the first to hit the red carpet in her exquisite Reem Acra Bridal Spring 2008 gown.

The gown had an jewel detail on the hip, and a gorgeous ruffled skirt.

Most Dramatic Award
Finally some Versace Spring 2009 on the red carpet.

January Jones was one of the few to bring drama to the red carpet wearing a Versace one-shouldered gown, with gold trim folds for added detail.

Biggest Hair Award
Drew Barrymore was stunning on the red carpet. Her hair was teased into a big style ala Marylin Monroe.

Her grey/blue John Galliano gown hung delicately off her shoulder, as she channeled Old Hollywood.

Best Gown Award
Maggie Gyllenhaal looked charming wearing a blue leopard print Lanvin Spring 2009 asymmetrical gown, which was presented on the runway in a much shorter style.

Best Strapless Gown Award
Jennifer Morrison’s electric blue Oscar de la Renta Pre-Fall 2009 was beautifully complimented with her blue stone Lorraine Schwartz earrings, which were made specially for the dress.

Best Dressed Brit Award
Kate Winslet did us Brits proud, not only in the style stakes wearing this YSL strapless gown. But by also winning the Best Supporting Actress award for The Reader.

She sparkled in Chopard jewels.

The Turn Back Time Award
I don’t know how Demi Moore does it, but she must bottle it, and sell it.

Demi showed us why she is married to a much younger man, when she walked the red carpet wearing this cute pink Christian Dior Spring 2009 haltered gown.

The actress turned back the clock at least 20 years.

Best Black Award
Evan Rachel Wood’s Elie Saab Fall 2006 Couture black tiered gown, was by far the best black dress on the red carpet, as it shimmered as walked.

Again there is not a hit of Dita von Teese.

Best Asymmetrical Dress Award
I am so proud of America Ferrera, because she didn’t wear black, as I was expecting her to.

Instead she opted for this silver asymmetrical Oscar de la Renta Pre-Fall 2009 dress, which was actually presented in black.

I love the gathered detail on the skirt, and the embellished detail on the neckline.

Most Vibrant/Best Red Award
Eva Longoria’s red Reem Acra gown, more than stood out against the red carpet. The actress who is just recovering from a cold, showed no signs of illness as she looked red hot.

She completed her look with a Daniel Swarovski silver clutch.

Most Improved Award
I really love this Reem Acra Pre-Fall 2009 gown on Rumer Willis.

Finally she has found a dress that compliments her hair.

Most Va Va Voom Award
I thought Hayden Panettiere looked outstanding, as she brought out the sex kitten wearing this Gianfranco Ferré Spring 2008 strapless eggplant gown.

This dress may look familiar, and that’s because it’s from the same collection as the dress Jennifer Morrison wore to the People’s Choice Awards.

Best Floral Award
Jenna Fischer looked ethereal in a multi floral print silk chiffon V-neck Zuhair Murad Resort 2009 gown with crystal embellished waist.

She completed her look with Chopard jewels.

Best Curves Award
Salma Hayek wore a figure-hugging Bottega Veneta gown, which shows us that my sexy senorita is back to her beautiful best.

She completes her look with Boucheron jewels.

If It Ain’t Broke Don’t Fix It/Another Strapless Gown Award
Kate Beckinsale is starting to become really predictable.

Yes she has a body to die for, and look fabulous in this J. Mendel gown. But I hope for her next red carpet appearance she wears something other than a figure-hugging strapless gown.

Best Over 40 Award
It not all about the youngsters. Kristin Scott Thomas more than held her own on the red carpet wearing a silk champagne Lanvin gown with sash neck-tie.

Good, But Not Great Award
Angelina Jolie’s shimmering Atelier Versace gown with a thigh-high split is not black – thankfully.

Best Couture Award
Anne Hathaway’s Armani Privé Fall 2006 gown was embroidered with Swarovski crystals. I wanted to be more wowed by her dress, but she does look absolutely stunning.

Best Necklace Award
Beyonce was not going to take any risks tonight, so she returned to her old friend Elie Saab who created this stunning strapless Spring 2008 Couture embroidered gown.

For those of you who watched the red carpet show on E!, you would have noticed that the dress was a little tight around the hips on B.

I really liked Beyonce necklace, which complimented the jeweled detail on the gown.

Best Colour Co-Ordination Award
I love how Christina Applegate complimented her yellow Roberto Cavalli strapless gown with yellow Lorraine Schwartz jewels and yellow diamond clutch.

Best Nude Award
Nude dress and gowns were very popular at this event, but for me Elizabeth Banks’ J. Mendel Spring 2009 ruffled gown, stood out the most.
