Rooney Mara In Alexander McQueen – ‘UNA’ New York Screening

Rooney Mara may have been at Paris Fashion Week for the Givenchy Spring 2018 show, but it’s Alexander McQueen who marked her return to the red carpet for the ‘UNA’ New York screening on Wednesday (October 4).

Black and white are Rooney’s preferred red carpet choices, however red is occasionally added to this mix.

The actress recently said to Harper’s Bazaar that she loves to express herself through fashion, so I feel confidence is what she’s portraying in this Spring 2018 two-piece.

While you might be saying, “where’s the McQueen in this McQueen?” I’m loving the striking colour and simplicity of the styling.

Rooney Mara In Christian Dior – 2017 Cannes Film Festival Closing Ceremony

Rooney Mara made a surprise appearance on the red carpet for the 2017 Cannes Film Festival closing ceremony on Sunday night (May 28).

Always treading the line between gothic and romantic, she veered more to the latter wearing a beautiful white silk embroidered dress by Dior.

I adore the dainty flared silhouette and the classic black and white colour palette.

Usually I’m searching for a little bit more from Rooney, but she delivers on all fronts here for me.

2017 Humane Society Gala

The Humane Society’s annual ‘To the Rescue!’ gala was held on Saturday (April 22) in LA, with a group of animal-loving stars in attendance.

Laura Vandervoort: The epitome of chic, Laura showed off the glories of the LBD’s counterpart, the little white dress, in this Rhea Costa Pre-Fall 2017 design. I love the subtle drama of the split sleeves and how she frosted the minimalist look with the sophisticated flash of accessories including an embellished bronze Kate Spade New York clutch and Bionda Castana metallic shoes.

Elizabeth Banks: Girly springtime flair was alive and well in this pointillist pink Fendi dress styled with complementary Prada shoes. The racing stripes down the front and sides added a welcome edge to the sweetness of the ruffle skirt, keeping the look from going too sugary.

Rooney Mara: This Burberry Spring 2017 ensemble paired ladylike, doily lace with a menswear-inspired dress shirt. But, despite the fresh, creamy-white hue, the look not only seemed ill-fitted but also a bit drab and ageing on Rooney.

Rooney Mara In Louis Vuitton – ‘The Discovery’ Netflix Premiere

Rooney Mara didn’t break any of her usual red carpet habits while attending the premiere of Netflix’s ‘The Discovery’ on Wednesday (March 29) LA.

The actress wore a Louis Vuitton Fall 2017 boudoir-inspired dress; cut to a ladylike length and trimmed with delicate nude-hued lace.

With its waxy-leather-like fabrication the dress the possesses an edge which I loved on the runway, however, the look falls a bit flat on Rooney.

Do you feel the same way or do you not like the dress at all?

I think Rita Ora or Rihanna would’ve sold this look to me.

SXSW Film Festival Weekend Roundup

The 2017 SXSW Conference and Festivals kicked off this weekend with a host of stars showcasing a more relaxed set of styles in Austin, Texas.

Charlize Theron – ‘Atomic Blonde’ premiere: The actress looked gorgeous opting for a Givenchy LBD where the fluidity of the fabric is beautifully offset by its artful draping. She completed her look with Christian Louboutin ‘Loulouboot’ booties.

Sarah Wayne Callies – ‘This Is Your Death’ premiere: If there was an all-black dress code, Sarah wasn’t buying it. Instead she presented a rainbow of colours courtesy of Tracy Reese.

Rooney Mara -‘Song to Song’ premiere: I love how the lace sleeves temper this boyish Saint Laurent look, but the best thing about this look if the how relaxed Rooney is here. SUSI Studio ‘Emerson’ brogues completed her look.

Rooney Mara In H&M Conscious Collection – 2017 Vanity Fair Oscar Party

Rooney Mara was also in attendance at the 2017 Vanity Fair Oscar Party on Sunday (February 26).

If you were wishing for her to debut a fresh new fashion aesthetic in a bright colour, you would have been disappointed to see her stick to her favoured neutral comfort zone in this creamy ivory design from the H&M Conscious collection.

The dress itself had a feminine lightness of form with the frill of plisse ruffles.

So, I wish that mood had been echoed in the styling, as her vampy makeup and the heavy black shoe weighed down the look.
