Rihanna In Dries van Noten - Out In New York

Rihanna, who is one of the many stars who is expected to take to the red carpet this evening for the Met Gala, was spotted leaving her hotel in New York yesterday evening.

The singer was dressed in a Dries van Noten Spring 2013 dual-coloured plaid coat, which was navy at the front and sheer burgundy at the back. The coat was, of course, worn sans top to give her a plunging neckline revealing several tattoos.

Waxy blue jeans, burgundy Manolo Blahnik sandals and a cap worn backwards were added to her look.

I have to say I love this from head to toe – even the exposed tattoos and the cap.

Put this coat in someone else’s hands and it wouldn’t be much of a talking point, but Rihanna, as always, takes it to the next level.

Rihanna In Mary Katrantzou - Da Silvano

Rihanna was spotted out last night in New York City headed to Da Silvano’s for dinner wearing a very colourful look.

She joins the legends of celebrity fans who can’t get enough of Mary Katrantzou’s Spring 2013 collection, which features abstract, exotic prints from international stamps.

Rihanna styled her top with frayed denim shorts and nude Tom Ford bondage boots, which we saw in black on Anne Hathaway last year – who thought she’d start that trend?

The boots are ugly – of this there is no doubt – but Rihanna should really have opted for the black version.

Who Wore Supreme Better Rihanna or Mark Ronson

Rihanna is no stranger to wearing menswear.

The singer was spotted making her way through security at Schönefeld Airport in Berlin, Germany back in November wearing a men’s Supreme leather down jacket in green, black and red, which she styled with a Mechanical ‘Dummy’ crewneck sweater, black leggings and Air Jordan Olympic Retro 7s.

Mark Ronson was spotted wearing the same Supreme jacket this afternoon while attending the Prince’s Trust Celebrate Success Awards held at the Odeon Leicester Square in London.

He wore the look over a bi-colour suit, which features a green blazer, black shirt and black slacks. Lace-up shoes completed this look.

Yes, it’s very cold in London, but Mark could’ve gone sans jacket for the red carpet. Rihanna wins for me as her urban look works better with the jacket.

Rihanna recently embarked on her ‘Diamonds’ World Tour, which kick started in Buffalo, New York early in March. She will go on to play several dates, ending in Auckland, New Zealand in October.

Sporting newly dyed honey-coloured locks, the singer was spotted on stage wearing a custom-made Lanvin creation by Alber Elbaz.

The look features a petrol-blue bodysuit with pants, both fully embroidered with Swarovski crystals.

Adding yet more bling to her look, Rihanna added a crystal ‘Dedale’ belt and jewels, both from the Lanvin Spring 2013 collection.

Rihanna Elle April 2013

Rihanna covers the April 2013 cover of Elle UK wearing a mixture of high-end designer pieces and her River Island Spring 2013 collection.

Mariano Vivanco captures the fashion-and-music rebel on two covers wearing black River Island skirts: one paired with a Louis Vuitton chequered top; the other with a Louis Vuitton striped bra with a Prada stole.

The rest of her editorial sees her wearing Maison Martin Margiela, Louis Vuitton and Givenchy.

In her interview Rihanna comes clean about her tempestuous relationship with singer Chris Brown, sharing her private thoughts on why she went back to her ex-partner, her mother’s disapproval and her hopes for her future – including plans to start a family.

The hit-making singer, best known for her rebellious attitude and fierce style, also talks about her unique brand of feminism, her attempts to be authentic and why she feels compelled to share so much of her life through social media.

Here are some extracts from her interview.

On Chris Brown being the person she loves: “Stay [new single] is a story about having love that close and wanting it to last forever. You don’t have that feeling with everybody so when you have it you don’t want to let go of it. I would definitely say that he [Chris Brown] is the one I have that kind of relationship with.”

On wanting a great friendship with Chris Brown above all else: “…right now that’s just what we want, a great friendship that’s unbreakable. Now that we’re adults we can do this right. We got a fresh start and I’m thankful for that.” Read more…

Rihanna In DKNY for Opening Ceremony - LAX

Rihanna was spotted on Sunday walking through LAX en route to London for her River Island collection launch party which takes place today.

She rocked a super comfy DKNY for Opening Ceremony jumpsuit.

The Spring 2013 piece which features a drawstring hood, zip front and side pockets, has been re-issued from DKNYs Spring 1991 collection.

What I love about this look it that it takes me back to my Mary J Blige ‘Real Love’ and Aaliyah ‘Back and Forth’ days.

It’s so very retro.

Riri completed her look with her favourite black Alexander Wang ‘Cameron’ booties and a black Joyrich PU faux-python studded backpack.
