InStyle Summer Soiree

There were many more lovely ladies who attended the InStyle Summer Soiree held at the Mondrian Los Angeles in West Hollywood, California yesterday evening.

Darby Stanchfield: The ‘Scandal’ actress instantly caught my eye, not only because of the striking contrast between her gorgeous flame-red beehive and electric-blue drop-waist Paper London dress, but mostly because of her pronounced eyebrows, which gave the look a futuristic vibe, further punctuated by her sculptural Kzeniya clutch and Emporio Armani silver pumps.

Ashley Tisdale: Although this sleeveless Clover Canyon ‘Orchid Trip’ neoprene dress is very much expected from Ashley, I love the soft pastel pieces styled with the look. The black clutch is very much the odd man out here.

Analeigh Tipton: The actress was one of many who also opted for neutral tones, wearing a chic tunic top and matching trousers by Ermanno Scervino accented with a black waistband. Opting not to go with black accessories, she wore white Casadei sandals and carried a gold Stark clutch, with Dannijo earrings completing the look.

NBC and FOX Presents Their Programming for 2013

NBC and FOX presented their programming for 2013 in New York City on Monday evening.

Alexis Bledel: Almost blending into the FOX background, the ‘Mad Men’ actress wore a scoop-neck Oscar de la Renta dress in a colour that can be best described as Tiffany-blue. Opting for comfort, Alexis styled her look with gold Cynthia Vincent gladiator flats.

Amy Poehler: It’s not often we see Amy wearing something so colourful. Her summery Theia dress was styled with electric-blue Jimmy Choo pumps.

Minka Kelly: Adding a bit of spice to the red carpet, the actress opted for a sexy one-shoulder printed frock with simple styling which included black strappy sandals.

Rachael Taylor also attended the 2012 Gotham Independent Film Awards held at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City last night, alongside Marion Cotillard, Amy Adams and Emily Blunt.

She didn’t wear a dress, instead opting for chic simple separates by Theyskens’ Theory.

I love this laidback menswear-inspired look; Michelle Ryan is hopefully taking notes as Rachael’s vest and slim fitted pants were styled with Gianvito Rossi for Altuzarra strappy (to-die-for) sandals, a gold Cartier bracelet (as loved by Kristen Stewart) and a bi-colour white-and-ivory Céline clutch.

Once again, Rachael’s minimalist approach and expert styling totally wins me over.

Rachael Taylor attended the 40th International Emmy Awards in New York City yesterday evening.

As you know, I’m not the greatest fan of minimalism, but every once in a while I can sit back and appreciate the finer aspects of a simple classic look, like Rachel’s The Row Fall 2012 streamline knee-length dress.

Her sleeveless frock with a textured skirt was styled with Victoria Beckham’s favourite Proenza Schouler colour-block pumps and a structured clutch from The Row.

Rachael’s blonde hair was pushed back behind her ears; bronze smoky eyes and a pale pink lip colour completed her look.

Rachel Taylor looked gorgeous on the red carpet at last night’s 9th Annual Style Awards soiree at the Lincoln Center in New York City.

The Australian actress chose a beautiful Reed Krakoff gown for the event, featuring a satin strapless bodice and structured feathered skirt.

The strappy black sandals are the perfect choice for the ensemble, as is the rose gold cuff. The only style infraction is the Reed Krakoff bag. Although it’s fabulous on its own, it doesn’t sit well with Rachels’ overall look.

Do you agree?

Rachael Taylor attended the discussion panel for ‘666 Park Avenue’ during Comic-Con 2012 on Friday in San Diego, California.

The Australian actress is clearly up to speed on the relaxed dress code of the event as she wore a navy-blue Jenni Kayne Pre-Fall 2012 embellished sweater which she perfectly co-ordinated with striped Suno Fall 2012 pants.

Rachael’s Jenni Kayne shoes also work well with her casual ensemble, but I don’t like how the grey d-Orsay flats make her feet look so long.

A glossy pink lip colour completed her look.

I rushed to get Cate Blanchett’s picture up last week, so here are the rest of the guests at the Vogue dinner.

Despite the shapeless nature of Rachel Taylor’s custom-made Carl Kapp gown I adore it.

Mostly because she looks so beautiful and graceful wearing the gown with a flowing train.  Plus her hair and make-up are perfection.

“Make Me A Supermodel US” judge Nicole Trunfio might has well have worn the bunny ears with her Louis Vuitton Fall 2009 cream dress, because she looks ridiculous anyway.

This just goes to prove that some pieces were only meant for the runway.

Abbey Lee strikes a pose wearing a beautiful Max Azria Fall 2009 olive gown, with an embellished shoulder detail which makes the gown so beautiful.

I’m glad she opted out of the black turtle neck which presented with almost every piece during this collection.

When Mary Shackman and Terri Schwamberg arrived together, I’m sure all eyes were on them.

Mary stood out because of her bright red dress, but Terri stood out for her boldness for wearing this Prada Spring 2009 ensemble which we have only ever seen worn in Asia.

Kudos to her for having the guts to wear such an ensemble and for those great abs.  No wonder she wanted to show them off.

As much as I am bored of seeing this Alexander Wang block colour dress on the red carpet, model Elise Taylor does look really amazing wearing it.

Better than the runway model me thinks.
