Since Brian Reyes’ first season – Spring 2006 – the designer has been continually on the rise.

The self-taught designer worked at fashion houses such as Ralph Lauren, Michael Kors, and Oscar de la Renta, before making the bold choice to go it alone at the age of 24.

And what a great decision it was.

Diane von Furstenberg recently elected the young designer into the Council of Fashion Designers of America, an elite and fabulous circle of top designers, which further cements the fact that Brian Reyes is a top designer.

In the past few weeks we have seen many of the young Hollywood elite wearing his designs including Rachel Bilson to the Teen Choice Awards this weekend, and both America Ferrera and Leighton Meester wore Brian Reyes to the The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 premiere last week.

America Ferrera, who is usually devoted to Monique Lhuillier, wore a custom purple Reyes creation for her 2007 Golden Globe win. Rachel Bilson also wore a custom Reyes creation to a 2006 Teen Vogue Young Hollywood Party.

Rachel, as we can see, is huge fan of the designer. She was the first to wear this grey Brian Reyes bubble dress with a bright red belt and vintage white pumps to the listening party for The Last Kiss soundtrack in Hollywood back in August 2006.

Ashlee Simpson wore the same dress, sans red belt, but with red pumps at the Us Weekly Party in Hollywood back in April 2007.

I am looking forward to Brian Reyes showing his Spring 2009 collection at New York Fashion Week on September, 10.

Best Dressed Award
Leighton Meester stayed away from the mini skirts and mini dresses like most of her contemporaries, and opted for a very grown up look, wearing a beautiful green Lanvin Spring 2008 Grecian draped cocktail dress.

She accesorized with black peep-toes, gold earrings and a gold bracelet.

Her hair appears to be lighter than usual.

Best Strapless Award
I am not a fan of Katharine McPhee, but I absolutely adore this strapless dress.

It’s cute, fun, flirty and totally unique.

I love the embroidered pattern and the tulle hem.

Best Legs Award
I love this mini purple one-shouldered Tadashi Shoji dress on Blake Lively, her legs appear endless.

The dress is cute and appropriate for the event, but the shoes are so boring.

A gladiator heel, or a strappy sandal would have made a whole world of difference.

She accessorizes with a large patent belt, and a chunky ring.

Most Improved Award
Apparently this dress Lauren Conrad wore is a one-of-a kind custom dress she designed specifically for this event.

Yes I am just as shocked and skeptical as you are.

The sweetheart necklined maxi dress is multi-coloured with blue, white, taupe and orange.

Lauren accessorized with two gold pendant necklaces, gold bangles, and her ‘Lauren’ ring.

Best Maxi Floral Award
Sophia Bush looks absolutely adorable here. Her strapless floral Jenni Kayne Resort 2009 gown gives her a sophisticated air we are not used to seeing on the actress.

Her taupe clutch, belt and bracelet were a perfect choice.

Best Mini Floral Award
Sophia chose a maxi floral dress, but Brittany Snow opted for a mini floral dress, which is simple gorgeous.

The red peep-toes were a great idea, as they compliment the dress, and really stand out on the blue carpet.

Best Sparkle Award
Teen Choice host Miley Cyrus sparkled in her tiered sequined Moschino Cheap & Chic Spring 2008 sequined dress.

She accessorized with slouchy taupe suede boots, which helps keep her look young. She also wore three necklaces of varying lengths, including a ‘Miley’, name tag, a butterfly and half a broken heart.

I wonder who has the other half?

The make-up was thankfully light, and her hair was trademark wavy.

All in all, an age appropriated look, for a change, on the red carpet.

Best Use Of Colour Award
Rachel Bilson is striking in this ceramic blue asymmetrical Brian Reyes dress. The actress wore her one-shouldered mini dress, with a pair of strappy khaki heels.

Her nude make-up is fresh and flawless.

Best Hair Award
Vanessa Hudgens’ trademark wavy hair, was last night replaced by sleek iron straight hair.

With her cute dimpled smile the young actress wore a beautiful Catherine Malandrino three-toned tiered strapless dress.

She wore her dress with a two-tone crystal clutch and Mischa Barton favourite Christian Louboutin Mad Mary Janes.

As always, Zanessa stole the show, by cozying up on the red carpet.

‘I’m Not A Girl’ Award
Hayden Panettiere wore this very elegant, and interesting red, pink and white watercolor silk strapless gown, which cinched in at the waist.

The elegance is complete with her up ‘do.

Just OK Award
I love the fuschia skirt on her Jenni Kayne Resort 2009 ensemble and the multi-coloured necklace, but if it was not for those two elements, Kristen Bell would have faded into the background in this ‘Just OK’ ensemble.

I think she was trying to go for an edgier look wearing, than we are used to seeing on her.

She has had better moments on the red carpet.

Most Glamourous Award
Olivia Wilde has an air of regal elegance about her.

Her BCBG Max Azria draped and ruffled ivory dress and grey belt, was accessorized with a gold clutch and peep-toes.

Best Heels Award
This is the second time I have featured Danica Patrick on my blog, and I have noticed that she loves funky footwear.

The Racing Driver’s stand-out gold gladiator heels, complimented her gold studded belt which she wore with her grey/blue strapless dress.

Best Tutu Award
Danity Kane are not known appearing on Best Dressed Lists, but Aundrea Fimbres looks so cute in this strapless Elsie Katz Couture Spring 2008 mini tutu dress.

The dress is made of chrysanthemum brocade with rulled petticoat and hand-formed crystal beaded blossoms from the Spring/Summer 2008 collection.

Best Clutch/Shoes Combo Award
I do love yellow and denim, they always work well together.

Jordin Sparks breaks my rule of wearing jeans on the red carpet, but for this teen event, she is forgiven.

The singer was the most casual at this event, wearing a green layer t-shirt with a pair of dark wash jeans.

I am still pleading with her to remove those streaks in her hair.

Rachel Bilson was spotted out this weekend with friend/boyfriend/whatever, Hayden Christensen.

The pair had stop by a gas station and run some errands together in Beverly Hills yesterday afternoon.

I noticed that Rachel was wearing a pair of her favorite green Chanel Wayfarer sunglasses, which you can see from above, she has worn many times before.

The quirky Chanel Green Wayfarers are very unique, as they have CHANEL on the side, written in multi-colours.

Lily Allen also loves her pair.

Before you start to seek out these sunglasses, they appear to be sold-out. There isn’t even a pair on ebay.

Women In Film Crystal & Lucy Awards, LA

This red and white floral print Oscar de la Renta Resort 2009 strapless dress is really nice, and very appropriate for the event. I also like the red pashmina and the red shoes, but it just does not feel like Cameron Diaz.

This is something Charlotte York from Sex And The City or ‘ladies who lunch’ would wear, not Cameron.

Eva Mendes’ form-fitting black John Galliano dress shows the actress at her best, which is flawless.

Her dress has red and silver embellishments on the shoulders to really make this dress stand out.

I adore her clutch.

We don’t see much of Debra Messing on the red carpet, but every time we do she looks nothing short of fantastic.

Her Naeem Khan Fall 2008 gown appeared back to front on the runway, but I like her take on this dress. Had she worn the dress as it appeared on the runway, it would have been too restricting on her.

I am loving this darker shade of auburn.

Jennifer Morrison’ s ensemble is very interesting with the woolen pieces woven onto the top. It is not a look I would favour for myself, but it does work on Jennifer.

Nicole Richie wore a vintage psychedelic flower print floor-length Missoni gown, that looked 4 sizes too big for her.

Not her best look.

I am still pining for my sexy senorita as Salma Hayek opted for a very business-like Alexander McQueen Spring 2008 black suit with thin satin lapels for this event.

Her white blouse keeps her bad boys covered up, whilst her waist belt shows us that she is back to her pre-baby best.

The new mother completes her look with a pair of black YSL tribute pumps.

Rumer Willis has seen sense with regards to those tacky hair extension, which she has finally ditched, but she still needs a stylist to give her a fantastic funky new ‘do.

The dress is really nice on her, as the bright colour is nice contrast to her pale skin.

I was so in love with Jada Pinkett Smith wearing this very feminine metallic silver strapless Monique Lhulillier dress with a cute gold bow belt, but then I saw the tacky tan lines.

This MaxMara dress on Ginnifer Goodwin is the right side of pale pink to suit her fair complexion.

The Whitney Contemporaries’ Art Party and Auction, New York

My jaw hit the table when I saw Rachel Bilson is this haltered Herve Leger dress.

Girlfriend is SMOKIN’ hot, sizzling, on fire in this cream body-con dress.

I never knew she had such a hot little body.

Her feathered clutch is by Romanek Los Angeles.

Eva Amurri also opted for a haltered Herve Leger dress, but without the same impact as Rachel.

Joy Bryant always looks great, but I am not liking the colour of her Herve Leger dress on her. She should have lost the bouquet on her chest.

Michelle Trachtenberg’s Herve Leger dress was a gorgeous deep berry colour, which looks fabulous on her.

If I could pick anyone of these Herve Leger dresses I would chose this one that Tinsley Mortimer wore. I love the colours and cut-out style.

Actress Gretchen Mol went against the Herve Leger tide and instead wore a black and blue ombre Jason Wu Spring 2008 dress with the ever popular gladiator heels.

Viktor And Rolf Private View, London

Viktor & Rolf is not a collection that everyone could pull off, but if anyone can, Roisin Murphy can.

For this event she wore a pink dress with a white and black trimmed ruffled collar from the Viktor & Rolf Spring 2008 collection.

Kelly Osbourne played peak-boo with her cut-out tunic.

Mischa Barton is not so golden is this dress.

MTV TRL, New York

I much prefer Rihanna’s hair dark, this auburn look is not really working for me.

What I do love here are her fierce lace up boots.

Taylor Swift wears her silver Guiseppe Zanotti two days in a row on co-presenting for MTV’s TRL, with her black Laila Azhar belted strapless dress.

19th Annual MuchMusic Video Awards, Toronto

Rihanna arrived at this event with wearing a long black high-waisted skirt, a simple black tank top, and white braces.

Rihanna likes to give us the unexpected and these braces, as crazy an idea as it was, works.

Rihanna performed in this ensemble, which included knee-high lace up boots, black liquid leggings from Members Only, and a Thomas Wylde ruffled top.

I know it was raining at the MMVA’s last night, but was that bus conductor hat really necessary?

Melanie C wore a very similar chocolate sequined turtle-necked Nada Fall 2008 dress to the one Sarah Jessica Parker wore to the MTV Movie Awards.

Unfortunately for Melanie it is not the same, because Sarah’s dress worked, this one does not.

Mel teamed her dress with gold open-toe Gucci booties.

Whitney Port arrived wearing a very interesting African-inspired dress from the Mara Hoffman Fall 2008 collection.

The funky footwear loving reality TV star, wore bandaged heels to compliment her dress.

Not sure why Kristin Cavallari was at the event, but she arrived wearing a silver metallic strapless dress, teamed with black Christian Louboutin heels.

Kira Plastinina US Launch

Hayden Panettiere was by far the best dressed at this event, wearing a black satin dress with Givenchy Open Toe d’Orsay heels.

Audrina Patridge sparkled in this silver sequined 3/4 sleeved dress. I guess the bangs are gone for good.

Garcelle Beauvious wore her gold Gucci Sevigny heels, with an orange strapless dress, a black clutch and large gold hooped earrings.

Katherine McPhee wore Dior heels with a black trapeze dress.

“Kit Kittredge: An American Girl” World Premiere, LA

The Pinkett-Smith were out in full force. Jada Pinkett wore jeans, a black one shouldered Zac Posen Spring 2008 top, with a sunflower yellow pair of Christian Louboutin Very Noeud slingbacks and a blue Christian Louboutin Minilou clutch.

Willow Smith is too cute in her striped sequined dress, shades and beret.

Abigail Breslin is so adorable.

Emma Roberts wears a black chiffon ruffled blouse with flared jeans.

Rachel Bilson arrived with her sister and her sister friend. Cute.

Lexus Style Villa Sports Celebrate the “Power of h”, San Diego

Kate Walsh kept it simple in a Future Classics Spring 2008 navy and white polka dot dress with white Christian Louboutin Privatita platform slingbacks.

Sarah Larson wears a black Catherine Malandrino dress, as her 15 minutes of fame is hopefully coming to an end.

The Royal College of Art Summer Fashion Show, London

Erin O’Connor wears an ivory cotton demi-sheer kaftan style Matthew Williamson Spring 2008 dress with bead detailed strip round the neck and through the front.

Chanel Celebrates It’s New Concept Boutique Opening, LA

With her classic quilted Chanel red bag, and her embellished Chanel Spring 2008 T-bar shoes, Rachel Bilson wore a beautiful ruffled Chanel Fall 2008 dress.

The chiffon dress has a cascading silk rosette detail down one side, which is the perfect final touch to this stunning dress.

Leighton Meester opted for an edgier dress from the Chanel Pre-Fall 2008 collection.

This wet-look dress is beautifully embellished with multi-coloured jewels on the neckline.

The Gossip Girl actress completed her look with a black mini Chanel quilted bag and black slingbacks.

Amber Valletta’s chiffon Chanel Resort 2008 dress with asymmetric blue stitching, is perfectly complimented with her Chanel Spring 2008 T-bar shoes with blue accents.

Angie Harmon brighten things up a little, with her multi-coloured striped halter-neck dress from the Chanel Resort 2008 collection.

The orange belt is perfect compliment to this dress.

Michelle Trachtenberg is decidedly mute in this black and grey ensemble.

January Jones wore a black chiffon Chanel Spring 2008 dress with gold accents, which she teamed with a gold clutch.

This dress looked much better on the runway.

Malin Akerman is embracing the jumpsuits trend, in this gorgeous shimmering maroon jumpsuit detailed with a rose.

Tracee Ellis Ross channels her inner Anna Wintour, wearing Anna’s favourite blue and red checked dress from the Prada Spring 2008 collection.

Tracee completes her ‘Editor-In-Chief‘ look with a black Hermes Birkin.

Emma Roberts goes Joss Stone in this psychedelic Chanel maxi dress.

Who allowed Nicollette Sheridan entry to this event? And why does she ALWAYS get it so wrong?

Roberto Cavalli Wine Launch, London

Tamara Beckwith wore a Valentino Spring 2008 pink coat, over her pink top and jeans ensemble.

I love Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s red musical note clutch, as much as I love her ruffled Just Cavalli Fall 2008 flamingo printed shirt.

Camilla Rutherford wore a fushica pashmina, over her cream floral print spaghetti strapped Roberto Cavalli Spring 2008 maxi dress.

Hamptons Magazine 30th Anniversary Dinner with Cover Star Kim Catrall

Kim Cattrall is wearing a pink Herve Leger dress, and proves that you can never be too old to wear a body-con dress.

Dinos and Jake Chapman Exhibition, London

Roisin Murphy is wearing head to toe Gucci. Her top and jacket is from the Gucci Spring 2008 collection as is her gingham skirt.

It is not often we see Kate Moss in head to toe black, and it is not often we see her smiling.

Her LBD is by up and coming British designers Poltock and Walsh.
